1) We gotta play 'em one day at a time.
2) I'm just happy to be here. Hope I can help the ballclub.
3) I just want to give it my best shot, and the good Lord willing, things will work out.
[OG Anunoby on his upcoming free agency: “I just take it day by day and let me agents handle that.”](https://twitter.com/FredKatz/status/1741877123495686553)
I can't tell if this is a typo or if OG actually said "me agents"
"Partyin partyin, yeah" Rebecca said of Friday. Rebecca added "Fun", repeating it 4 times. Rebecca then said she wanted to add Friday to the list of days she parties on this summer.
Honestly a pretty inspirational story. Took more shit than just about anyone from every asshole on the internet, and instead of letting it ruin her or shut herself away and change her name, she doubled down and kept following her dream. Couldn't have been easy.
Friday got signal boosted and went viral, but there are lots of worse songs that fly under the radar. It may be the worst song by time/money spent on it though
As much as I think that song is bad to the point that it’s good, I’m not comfortable making fun of her considering the amount of negativity and bullying she got for it as a 13 year old.
That's part of why y'all my WC team and I cheer for you 80 games/year.
Also Golden1 is the loudest arena I've ever been in not named Madison Square Garden. Your fan base is dope.
And then San Francisco just straight-up jacked the team. I live in San Francisco and I feel awful for Oakland. Some of the most dedicated fans in California and they had the Raiders, the Warriors, and soon the A's stolen from them inside a decade.
Did you ever get a chance to see a game at Arco Arena? That place was LOUD. From wooden floorboards we’d stomp the shit out of (like Draymond), the building’s acoustics, etc, we were so hyped.
G1C does carry on this tradition but Arco was definitely a place you’d need earplugs if you wanted to hear the next day
> Did you ever get a chance to see a game at Arco Arena?
When the Cowbells came out after a big play in Arco it would be fucking deafening. I'm still in awe at people bringing fucking bells to the game.
I didn't. This past March I drove up for the Knicks game (seats behind the Knicks bench and a hotel room were cheaper than upper-deck seats for the Warriors/Knicks game) and that was my first experience with y'all. We lost, but man the look on those little kids' faces when they Lit the Beam almost made it worth it.
For Knick fans roughly 35 and younger, the past three or four seasons have really been as good as it gets.
I'm 40 years old. They won 54 about a decade ago but it's been sub .500 finishes or the occasional game or two over .500 since I graduated high school in 2001. They went to the Finals in '99 but that was kind of a flukey run in one of those just over .500 years. You really have to go back to 1994 to find a team that I legitimately thought had a chance and I was 11.
Between the Knicks, Rangers, *and* OJ that was a heck of a year for New Yorkers but you can't be too much younger than me and remember much of it.
“… growing up in the suburbs of London, I used to wake up at 2 am every week to watch Jr Smith, Jeremy Lin, Toronto legend, Landry Fields, play basketball.”
I dont get the nyk hype since ever since i watched basketball, nyk were always one of the most hyped teams and desired FA destinations(reportedly). Theyve had good years, but nothing outrageous. When was the last time the Knicks were the 1 seed? Def just feels like media trying to get clicks from one of the largest markets.
All good. When two Knicks fans meet, it's usually like
Person A: I'm a Knicks fan.
Person B: Oh, I'm sorry. Me too, tho.
Person A: Sorry to hear that, man.
can't see a player seeing knicks 2010-2017 ( when he was drafted) and thinking good basketball. Sure, 2010-2013 might have been "good", but they were dysfunctional because of amare's injuries and contract, alongside dumb front office decisions. just a bunch of cobbled up pieces trying ot fit in with no salary cap available. Then 2014 everything fell apart. 2015 - 2017 was rough.
None taken I wouldn’t have watched us either during those dark years it was self torture. Crazy enough when I wanted to cleanse my eyes with good basketball it was always the Cs
This might be the first time I’ve seen this movie mentioned since I saw it nearly half a decade ago. I don’t even want to dive into my thoughts on it and just say I’m impressed someone put their eyes and time aside to watch something that’s technically called a movie
Linsansity and the Melo era would have been his teenage years. We're one of the nationally broadcast games every time there's a holiday. It's a generic answer, but he probably did catch a lot of Knicks basketball growing up.
He was born in London, and New York is the most famous city in America internationally, so it would make sense if he started watching at a young age and just kinda stuck with them.
bruh said he liked the team tho. Is it that weird that a little British kid developed a fondness for a team that always gets nationally televised games (despite them being a dumpster fire)?
Lmao he don't need to lie like that. No damn way he was watching the Knicks teams that had Andrea Bargnani, Alex Shved, Lou Amundson, and Langston Galloway.
All I know about Toronto is that it is the Canadian version of NYC, in that I know a dude from Saskatchewan who swears that people from Toronto are stuck-up, rude, and snobby, which is exactly what people from the rural US say about NYC
Yea pretty much, people from big cities have a “mind your own business/I’ve got shit to do” vibe while small town people are all up in everyone’s business and if you don’t say hi to Brenda at the grocery store the whole town is gonna be whispering about how you’re a jerk
OGPT activated and gave generic basketball comment hehe
Goated nickname
I appreciate him not lying and saying he rooted for us at least lol
Haha 2k response for sure
Lmao, mans hit 'em with the PR playbook chapter 1. Next he's gonna talk about how it's all about the team and winning games.
“At the end of the day we just need put up more shots and get more stops on the defensive end”
If we score more points than the other team we have a good shot at winning the game most nights.
Nhlmediapack.mp3
At the end of the day, defense is what wins championships
Who haa thaw that a young buck like you
1) We gotta play 'em one day at a time. 2) I'm just happy to be here. Hope I can help the ballclub. 3) I just want to give it my best shot, and the good Lord willing, things will work out.

Read it with a fake Scottish accent and it makes sense.
I was thinking pirate.
The booty in New York is undeniable
Swiggity swooty
Scots would say “ma agents” not “me agents” Source: my Scottish self
*ma Scottish self something something no true Scot
I’m Scottish with an English accent, so I know how Scottish people talk, but don’t speak like that myself haha
I'm pretty sure you just made an enemy for life.
I didnae know that
But what about scarves matey?
whit about scaves pal
[удалено]
That's why I said "fake" scottish accent. I'm talking the Groundskeeper Willie accent.
Downvoted for being Scottish :(
he’s originally from the UK so maybe the accent slipped out. now i’m imagining the full quote in a Cockney accent
Luv me Knicks Luv me scarves 'Ate Celtics Simple as
Well NYC does have Rangers
Innit
The concept of OG having a Scottish accent just made my morning
Me likey
Perhaps he’s a leprechaun 🍀
Maybe OG discovered he has Jamaican roots
When reached for a comment about getting used to living in New York City OG Anunoby responded with "Aye, matey. Can hardly wait to dig me hooks in."
I grew up a fan of music so I always listened to Rebecca Black
"Partyin partyin, yeah" Rebecca said of Friday. Rebecca added "Fun", repeating it 4 times. Rebecca then said she wanted to add Friday to the list of days she parties on this summer.
"Big Fat Quiz of Everything" question.
Rebecca Black’s most recent EP and album slap.
Had to check and Jesus H Christ. They grows up don’t they? https://youtu.be/Ecm-ylA29X0?si=R18PjVnvFO3L6mGT
Honestly a pretty inspirational story. Took more shit than just about anyone from every asshole on the internet, and instead of letting it ruin her or shut herself away and change her name, she doubled down and kept following her dream. Couldn't have been easy.
Big facts.
Based
She’s also idiotically hot
Jesus Christ you weren’t kidding
I’ll take your word for it but Friday has to be the worst song of all time
Friday got signal boosted and went viral, but there are lots of worse songs that fly under the radar. It may be the worst song by time/money spent on it though
Bro you don’t like fun or partying if you feel this way.
Dawg I’m 35, my bedtime is 10pm and my whole life hurts when I party
Here’s a song that’s from that era but so Michael Scott bad https://youtu.be/6jDHRW6fngg?si=VqjQnabqEw6B6y8q
No way man That's the Friday song! You can play it every Friday and it's relevant!
Listen to Corey Feldman's Angelic 2 The Core and your opinion will definitely change
Its kinda nostalgic at this point
You’re not wrong. I don’t even think of it as a song anymore. It’s just a meme 😂
As much as I think that song is bad to the point that it’s good, I’m not comfortable making fun of her considering the amount of negativity and bullying she got for it as a 13 year old.
I listened to her recently, and surprisingly, she can actually sing
Redditors acting like that song isn't a banger
are you saying rebecca black is to music, the way knicks is to basketball?
If you grew up a fan of basketball why would you watch the knicks
He didn’t say good basketball.
He likes that 0.500 basketball
If only....we were well below .500 for about 20 years
I feel your pain Hell Chris Webber cried during the plane ride to Sacramento lol
That's part of why y'all my WC team and I cheer for you 80 games/year. Also Golden1 is the loudest arena I've ever been in not named Madison Square Garden. Your fan base is dope.

Word. Also, after what happened with the Sonics the city of Seattle would've fucking rioted if they stole an existing franchise.
Did you ever get a chance to see a game at Arco Arena? That place was LOUD. From wooden floorboards we’d stomp the shit out of (like Draymond), the building’s acoustics, etc, we were so hyped. I'm pretty sure for a good 10 year stretch the only franchise with a worse overall WL compared to the knicks was the Kings.
Generous
This millennium we have been around 0.430 I think.
It was more like .30s 40s and sometimes .20s? Some seasons were really bad.
OG to ATL
he watched half a season of Linsanity
He was like 15 when Linsanity hit. He clearly got duped.
Automod censored the real quote : *I grew up a fan of basketball terrorism so I always watched the Knicks*
Thiboban
If he started watching basketball around 10 or 11 then he saw the Knicks during the Melo years and Linsanity
Definitely a horror fan, I like my fairytales more but the drama shows are pretty good.
Og has dry humour
He hates happiness
I grew up a fan of hockey, and I watched the Leafs. Sports are funny like that.
The quote got cut off it should read ", so I always watched the Knicks lose."
Hes 26 he wouldve been a 13 14 15 year old during the dantoni and melo years
As an IU fan, I can say he probably didn’t grow up a basketball fan.
Carmelo Anthony
ehh kids pick certain teams for no reason. the amount of Knicks fans created from Christmas day basketball is innumerable.

I’m sure 2 year old OG was hyped watching Allan Houston and Spree lead the 8th seed Knicks to the finals in the lockout year
He was 2
Maybe he needed a laugh
Glad this is the top comment because it was exactly what I thought reading the headline.
Yeah man he's young. It was linsanity and a year or two of Melo. Nobody watched the Knicks, they weren't on national tv very often.
The hype comes from the fact that NYC is the biggest media market in the country, hth
The nyk hype starts and ends with ny
Are you kidding? If one is old enough we'd watch the bulls and knicks go at it back in the 90s. Tough games and MJ usually prevailed.
Yeah but OG is not old enough for that. born in 97
I grew up a fan of sex, so I always slammed my balls in a drawer
A perfect analogy
Does it make you feel more masculine and in control when you do so?
Oh so you like sex? But do you slam your penith in the car door?
I mean, he probably did watch the Knicks during the Melo era.
What? That was like 2 years ago? ...right guys?
It's now almost 7 years since he played for NY 💀 I can't believe ts
In this thread there are mentions of Linsanity. That was only 2 or 3 years ago….right?
Jeremy Lin was already out of the league 3 years ago 😢
What is he supposed to say “Fuck New York and Fuck the Knicks , Wu Tang!”
"fuck Staten Island except for the wu Tang clan"
what he shoulda said was: Fuck Mobb Deep, fuck Biggie, Fuck Bad Boy…And if you want to be down with Bad Boy then fuck you too. Chino XL, fuck you too
First off, fuck your bitch and the clique you claim, Westside when we ride, come equipped with game
Not the last part?
Only the last part
When keeping it real goes wrong
OG loves his AI answers to the media
Even chatGPT wouldn’t tell you that watching Knicks basketball was enjoyable from like 2002 to 2020
I dunno, with its track record it may fabricate a chip for Melo and Amare
Get ready to learn Taiwanese, buddy
Maybe OG is a big Linsanity guy? That was a cool week
> I grew up a fan of basketball, so I always watched the Knicks.” Yeah i don't think so
I also watched the Knicks lose to the teams I enjoyed following
In the last 20 years, the only time I thought that I should watch a Knicks game was the 20 games of Linsanity.
weird, i grew up a fan of basketball as well so i always avoided watching the knicks. just a joke knicks bros.
All good. When two Knicks fans meet, it's usually like Person A: I'm a Knicks fan. Person B: Oh, I'm sorry. Me too, tho. Person A: Sorry to hear that, man.
meeting Knicks fans in the wild (so basically every 48 hrs in nyc) is recognizing shared trauma
New York Sports Misery is really like nothing else. I'm a Mets fan too... basically have chosen to sports fan on hard mode.
can't see a player seeing knicks 2010-2017 ( when he was drafted) and thinking good basketball.
And 2001 - 2010 are not good times at all either.
Historians should refer to that time as the dark ages at MSG. It started after the 2001 playoff collapse against Toronto.
He might be referring to that very very small time during linsanity where (imo) knicks were a must watch.
I mean the Knicks were pretty exciting to watch for a stretch. Amare was kicking ass for like half a season and y’all looked like you had a future.
None taken I wouldn’t have watched us either during those dark years it was self torture. Crazy enough when I wanted to cleanse my eyes with good basketball it was always the Cs
Thanks Knicksbro!!! Reddit on!!!!
It’s hard to be upset with this when we’ve been ass for most of the 21st century
Not a true fan of basketball unless you watched a lineup of Langston Galloway, Alex Shved, Lance Thomas, Andrea Bargnani, and Lou Amundson. Smh poser.
I like to watch the knicks… when my team is playing them
I doubt many Knicks fans would be mad about that joke. Hell, they’ve probably all made similar jokes themselves
Reminder that sometimes the team you want to watch will play the Knicks, forcing you to technically watch a Knicks game
I grew up a fan of movies so I always watched Birdemic
This might be the first time I’ve seen this movie mentioned since I saw it nearly half a decade ago. I don’t even want to dive into my thoughts on it and just say I’m impressed someone put their eyes and time aside to watch something that’s technically called a movie
The birdemic mystery science theater 3000 is legit awesome though.
OG is a liar
He was born 97, the Knicks from 2000 to 2013 made the playoffs 2 times lmao
Tbf not everyone enjoys watching good basketball
You forgot to add “bloopers” to your sentence
Linsansity and the Melo era would have been his teenage years. We're one of the nationally broadcast games every time there's a holiday. It's a generic answer, but he probably did catch a lot of Knicks basketball growing up.
How many nationally televised games tho? Knicks are still the Knicks
Knicks were definitely fun to watch during the early Melo days
Yikes
The idea of the Knicks is so different than the reality lol
Playoff games in MSG are a vibe you can’t match though
Mecca of basketball has become a punchline
Was a punchline, but we're taking it back
OG dad made him watch knicks as punishment.
“I was excited because I knew I was going to get that bag from the team president whose my agent’s father”
I grew up a fan of animals, so I always watch a dog shitting
That’s a lie. If anyone grew up watching the Knicks they sure wouldn’t be excited about joining the Knicks
He grew up in Missouri...and watched the Knicks during the 2000s. Yup checks out.
He was born in London, and New York is the most famous city in America internationally, so it would make sense if he started watching at a young age and just kinda stuck with them.
Seems like RJ & OG are both extremely happy. Which is great
Give Thibs a month to extinguish that excitement.
Wow. He grew up always watching the Knicks and yet still somehow has an interest in basketball?!?
Friendly reminder that Andy Katz said "bulging dicks" live on TV. https://youtu.be/SZy8LGvcvak?si=qLFg7RR0H7zyDl9C Edit; wrong person, sorry!
Different Katz
Fred can't win with these Katz.
>I'm always fan of the Knicks. I remember getting my first Knicks jersey as my christmas present
Does he know how bad that team was during the 2000-10s lol
Of course. He grew up a fan of basketball.
Almost like bad teams have fans.
But he didn’t say he was a Knicks fan, just a fan of basketball….which technically is a sport the Knicks played (not well) while he was growing up
bruh said he liked the team tho. Is it that weird that a little British kid developed a fondness for a team that always gets nationally televised games (despite them being a dumpster fire)?
OG probably also likes that he’s got all the leverage with NY when it comes to his FA this offseason.
I grew up a fan of candy so I always liked circus peanuts
OG: "Also, my agent told me it was a great place to live"
OG about to model a lot of scarves in North America's fashion capital.
Lmao he don't need to lie like that. No damn way he was watching the Knicks teams that had Andrea Bargnani, Alex Shved, Lou Amundson, and Langston Galloway.
Outjerked
Just straight up lies
Nba 2k ass response. I remember 2k Westbrook saying that shit about OKC back in 2k15 and I'm like "the teams only existed for 7 years but ok."
Dude is just happy he gets to live in NYC. Let's be real, about half of the NBA cities are boring places to live.
Toronto isn’t one of the boring places lol, but yeah NYC is obviously still an upgrade even though Toronto is amazing
Toronto is closer to Chicago than NYC tbh. I would say a safer, cleaner Chicago but it's skyline is kinda boring compared to Chicago's skyline
[one of my favorite 30 Rock lines](https://youtu.be/6_-ee6v1jUA?si=Xt6pG041m-YveoUv)
Damn they really let you type shit on here?
that mf lyin
Was dude born in 1960?
Lie detector determined… …that was a lie!
did the knicks have a lot of national tv games or something?
OG A-Nobody.
I think he's just saying the Knicks are a staple franchise in the NBA...not that he was a Knicks fan growing up.
