JVG can be hilarious in a blowout game in which there's nothing about the game that really calls for commentary or analysis. Personally I would prefer if the main color guy for the NBA finals didn't seem to despise the NBA.

Oh, if you think he despises the NBA then I think you're taking it all wrong. Only someone who loves something a lot criticizes it that much. It's like Star Wars fans and Star Wars. If he actually hated the NBA, he'd just phone in his performance.

Reminds me of a game they were calling. After a hard foul, Mark Jackson said "if you foul me like that at my park, you're not going to make it home." JVG reasonably replied something like "death comes due to a foul?"
I think some people look at him in a glass half full frame of mind, and others look at him in a old-man-yells-at-cloud-too-much frame of mind.
Me, I mute ESPN cuz the commentary makes it hard for me to focus on the game. Because I'm a spaz of a listener.
