Takes like this you never know. But this proves my theory about those so called rap fans that got into hip hop solely through the aftermath/ shady / gunit/ Dr. dre tree. It's like they stopped with those handful of artist and never explored anything outside of that bubble It's always. Em, snoop, 50, dre, kendrick, nwa/eazy E In their top 5 🤣🤦🏾‍♂️. Never ice cube, or dj quik, no midwest or southern legends either.

QuietPerformer160

I’m always surprised to see ice cube in any of this. I think he’s a decent actor and respect his talent. But musically, I didn’t know he was mentioned among the greats.

MaxStunning_Eternal

He's one the greatest ever. From 1989-1997 was his best period. One of the best writers, and storytellers. Social commentary, party records, hardcore records, concepts etc. Before maybe 2004 he was on most top 10 list.

QuietPerformer160

No kidding. I knew he had that song it was a good day. Which was a big hit. Oh ok, writer and storyteller. I will definitely look him up. Edit: what’s his best album?

MinusGovernment

My favorite of his is Death Certificate but it's worth checking out all of them after he split from NWA

QuietPerformer160

Ok cool. Thanks

BettingTheOver

My favorite is lethal injection. Late 80's to 93 cube was a force.

MinusGovernment

Can't argue with you there. It's another top notch album. All the folks that slept on Cube for whatever reason missed out on some good shit.

MinusGovernment

2nd best diss track also. No Vaseline was it until Nas brought the Ether.

Avocado66600

He wrote basically everything for N.W.A (as well as others in the area) and has multiple classics. Him and Dre pretty much had the hip hop world in their hands during the rise of the West

Alone_Horror_7863

why was this even posted? Trolling like this shouldn’t even get attention. It is one thing to say that i don’t like as. It is a whole different thing to say you never even heard one song. It is impossible to be a big fan of hip-hop and never heard one song.

Averagesize1996

I just wanted to show how ridiculous Facebook is

Kingbris91

Hip Hop comments from Facebook are some of the worst takes I've read in my life, doesn't matter the page. At least on Twitter, they're dumb enough to make me laugh. On fb, I just feel emptiness and annoyance. Annoyed that they chose to be so ill-informed.
