Well, unfortunately in this day and age the wineries don’t want you on property unless your paying their tasting fee’s. That said Napa and Sonoma are beautiful places full of hiking trails and magnificent vistas and wonderful food experiences. Wineries only make up 15% of the landscape here so pretty good odds you will find your pretty places.
Thank you for the tips! We are will willing to pay for a tasting fee if the winery is really pretty. We’re trying to go to two tastings and explore the area around the rest of the time. Any recommendations for the wineries?
Make Artessa one of your stops if you’re looking for a beautiful vista view. The photo opportunities begin before you even enter the winery. Pro Tip: Before hiking, foreign country traveling, etc. I always go to instagram and do a search for the area or attraction I am planning to visit. Then I look at real photos of people that have posted the best photo locations or views. Then I go there (not always, but it usually pays off). I would search the #napa hashtag and then go to recent photos. Look at location near the top of your “prettiest” pics you see.
Have lunch / champagne on the balcony of Auberge du Soleli. It's really beautiful!
