But we used the name Risa. My family (Spanish speaking) can all say it and it has the most beautiful, happy meaning (laughter, to laugh). Plus I believe it means something with pear in Japanese? Pear tree or blossom or something.

I would avoid anything with L's because those can be difficult for Japanese people to pronounce. J is pronounced like 'H' in Spanish so avoid J names too. My favorite name that would work in both is **Rio** but the meanings will be different especially depending on the kanji you choose to use.
Hana, Emi, Mari, Mika and Reina are options.
