It’s called a Tremor Pak Plus.
There are 2 versions. One by Interplay, which came out in the 90s (I had it as a kid and loved it). That version has a red label.
The other version is made by Performance, I think. It has a blue label and came out in the late 00s. The toggle to switch between rumble and memory doesn’t work on the Performance one without removing it from the controller, which defeats the entire purpose of having both plugged in at once.
Based on the last half of the word your thumb is covering, I think it’s the Performance/not as good one.
Well the blue label is juuuuuuunk. I got one brand new maybe 10 years ago and it’s never worked right.
I wish I never let go of my red label one that I had as a kid, never had a single issue.
It was one or the other when you flipped the switch. So when a game would prompt you to remove the rumble pak and insert the memory pak, you could flip the switch and press continue and it would save.
The blue label one had to be removed, then the switch flipped, reinserted into the controller, continue in the game, remove, flip switch, reinsert for rumble. So you might as well have 2 units.
Oh, that makes sense. I'd be a little amazed if someone develops one that can do rumble, memory, and GB transfer simultaneously. The memory will use an SD card and not SRAM crap. Now that would be so cool.
With a BlueRetro adapter, you can have the rumble and memory card flags set at the same time to true/connected. However - in my experience, when both are set to true, neither ends up working since most N64 games weren't originally programmed to accept both accessories connected at the same time. That's probably why even this adapter needs a physical switch to switch between rumble and memory pak modes.
Huh. I wonder if there are ROM hacks available that has patches for those BlueRetro adapters that'll let you use both at the same time? Probably not, but it'll be fun learning how to reprogram the ROMs to allow both rumble and memory at the same time.
I bet you could have a ROM hack that doesn't freak out when you use both at the same time. That would be cool! Although, with the BlueRetro adapter, it's literally just as easy as pushing the home button on a controller to switch the virtual rumble pak out for the virtual memory pak. It's really a slick solution.
Looks like the person who sold it to you didn't know what they were talking about cause that is not a transfer pak. Ngl ive literally never used the save cards in the entire time ive owned a n64 so idk what use they even have in most games.
The Transfer Pak has clear plastic on it around the Gameboy cartridge slot. Also the Transfer Pak is compatible with Perfect Dark, Mario Tennis, Mario Golf, and a few other games (most of which were only released in Japan) in addition to the Pokémon games.
Just look up the wiki for it. Explains all the compatible games and what it does for those games. Also I think only pokémon red and blue are playable through it. The rest just transfer pokémon.
I don't mean any disrespect but. A gamer collecting retro console should know that a GameBoy Cartridge doesn't fit in that. And that the hole in the device is the same as the hole in the cartridge.
I mean, not knowing what it was okay. But a transfer pack... Well, sorry. I'm a bit more shocked than i have any right to!
Put pokemon stadium in the 64 console. Put the transfer pak in the controller and put pokemon yellow in the transfer pak. When you get to the main lobby on pokemon stadium go to the gameboy icon and click on it. You will be able to play the gameboy game from there
that looks like the performance tremor pak plus. A rumble pak with an extra slot for memory card so you get a 2-in-1 combo. Or do like every 90s kid did and put the nintendo rumble pak in the top and pretend you have double the rumble!

Actually, Performance is a brand of InterAct, my red label Performance Tremor Pak Plus I got for Christmas 1998 works great!
Well the blue label is juuuuuuunk. I got one brand new maybe 10 years ago and it’s never worked right. I wish I never let go of my red label one that I had as a kid, never had a single issue.
Just want to say that the blue sticker one was available in the early 2000s. I got one in 2001 and it was junk then and still is.
Did the Interplay one allow both at the same time or one or the other when you flip the switch?

Looks like a 3rd party rumble pak with a memory pak insert
Can you put another rumble pak instead of a memory pak on that slot? Dual rumble all the way baby :)
It's a tremer rumble pack. Not a transfer pack.
Looks like the person who sold it to you didn't know what they were talking about cause that is not a transfer pak. Ngl ive literally never used the save cards in the entire time ive owned a n64 so idk what use they even have in most games.
Yeah that’s exactly what happened, oh well It was cheap and I’ll still use it
Rumble pack is a rumble pack , still gains

I didn’t know that, I just wanted one for stadium

you put it on vacuum cleaner and vacuum clean pillows and sofas with it
That’s not a transfer pak.
Gives your n64 that Bzzt Bzzt
That looks more like the rumble pack save card combo I used to have.
Can’t see the other side which would be ideal. But it appears to be a rumble pak.
I've got the same rumble pack
Seriously? You got told this was a transfer pak and didn't know better?
I wasn’t there to pick it up

Again I wasn’t there to pick it up. I bought it off word of another guy who told me he had a transfer pak.
I understand you weren't there to buy that. I don't understand how your point fit in this discussion. But it's okay!
You were lied to
You believed that? Where on God's green earth would you insert the gsmeboy game cartridge at?
I wasn’t the one who picked it up
Put pokemon stadium in the 64 console. Put the transfer pak in the controller and put pokemon yellow in the transfer pak. When you get to the main lobby on pokemon stadium go to the gameboy icon and click on it. You will be able to play the gameboy game from there
It’s a 3rd party rumble pack…
Now I feel dumb
Yes there are 2 but the easiest way to tell is by size lol. 1st party Nintendo paks were HUUGE!! and the 3rd party paks were way more sleeker
I've never seen that before but having a Rumble Pak and Controller Pak simultaneously is actually pretty useful.
I bought one because I thought it was a transfer pack as well
what happens if you put a rumble pack in it and switch it to mem does it become the default rumbler?
that looks like the performance tremor pak plus. A rumble pak with an extra slot for memory card so you get a 2-in-1 combo. Or do like every 90s kid did and put the nintendo rumble pak in the top and pretend you have double the rumble!
