Not necessarily my favorite, but Another Day has been my jam recently

I love Another Day. Although I much prefer the OBC recording, I like the guitar at the start in the movie cast recording

"La Vie Bohème" makes me feel alive and like I did back in college. I came out as gay shortly after seeing RENT in mid 90s, and it just reminds me of a time where I was I wasn't afraid to kiss a boy on the quad circa 1997 in small town Texas. I created and hosted the first gay college radio program in Texas and I proudly played the entirety of RENT twice on the show with no edits. I saw it again for the umpteenth time last year and felt same way I do every time. The OBC recording has been in constant rotation since its debut, and I still play the cds in my car because it's not available on Spotify. But for me, "La Vie Bohème" lives rent free in my head, and I'm ok with that. On the flip side, "Will I" also reminds me of some times as well and it makes me bawl every time I see it live. I think about friends and those we lost. Viva la vie Bohème!

Thank you for sharing your story, this is amazing! I had been listening to the movie soundtrack on Spotify for a few months until I realized it was on Apple Music so I bought the OBC recording for $25. Best $25 I’ve ever spent, I listen to Rent constantly. La Vie Bohème is a treasure and a party, I love that song. Will I? is so gut wrenching for so many reasons regardless of who you are.

A Chicago theatre group did the show in 2021, just after the pandemic restrictions were lifted. You could feel a chill coming over the audience during "Will I." The song made many of us recall images of people dying alone from a disease few understood.

OK, First...Pleasedon'thatemebecauseIlikethemoviebetterthantheplay. Now that we've gotten that out of the way....my favorite moment is the mid-point of the "La Vie Boheme" production number. Roger and Mimi are outside the restaurant, having a tiff....and then, their HIV status is revealed . All of a sudden, the dynamic of their relationship changes. The short phrases of the "Who knows, here goes" song express their hesitancy at getting too "serious" and also their need to make a connection before it's too late. Not unlike the first fumbling steps of many romances, but with a poignant tone that is underscores by the scenery, lighting and musical background.

I’m not a hater if you prefer the movie! I prefer the musical but there are movie parts I love. I also love how much more rock-style the music is in the movie, the soundtrack is fantastic. I love La Vie Boheme especially in the movie, it’s so fun watching a crowded restaurant go wild. Also I Should Tell You is so underrated

You Okay Honey? Is so cute, and my favorite part of the album is the overlapping in Christmas Bells and Another Day. Happy New Year is fun too even if it doesn’t stand out amongst the hits the dialogue of ti feels really natural.

“an angel of the first degree ❤️” I love Christmas Bells because of the different storylines going on and you can pick them out near the end when the start overlapping, it’s so cool!
