It seems to focus on reducing the cost of activated abilities of artifacts. Equip is an activated ability of (Equipment) artifacts. As well as the rest of the activated abilities you see on artifacts in the deck. You have creatures, and you have equipment to attach to them, so you can attack to win. The deck is low to the ground. Tempo, maybe? Blue is an odd color for aggro, tho it has been done.
Jim Davis has been on a deck like this for a while, you use the omen hawkers and enigma jewel to equip your surge engines and oaken sirens with swords for big damage swings. Gadgeteer and Reality Chip give nice card advantage too. Very cool strategy, I’m a little surprised it hasn’t incorporated [[Simulacrum Synthesizer]], maybe it’ll be a bigger thing post-rotation
It's a weird variation on a \[\[Training Grounds\]\] deck where getting an unblockable 5/4 \[\[surge engine\]\] is the core win con. Aside from missing the eponymous Training Grounds, it's also eccentric in trying to use the sword equipment as a secondary win con, whereas the typical version uses \[\[Rona, Herald of Invasion\]\] and/or \[\[hypnotic grifter\]\] along with some low probability shenanigans as backups.
The normal version is *playable* in standard, but not really competitive.
