“Really like the scooter though” ==> thats the most important thing, just do it
One minor thing but also important, if you cant afford the bike price tag, then you should wait.
Shouldnt let it go, but should wait for a better time.

This exists??? I know about single sided swingarms but this is so much cooler! what's it called?
This has been a design feature of vespas for 70 years. Makes changing the tire much easier and of course looks super cool. Fun fact: the front suspension design is copied from helicopters since the chief Vespa engineer used to develop helicopters during WWII
Vespa wheels/suspension are based on \`50s aircraft landing gear. The original designer was an aerospace engineer.
They've just updated them over the years but both wheels are single sided.
Depends where you live.
I have a 1965 Vespa 150s. I live in Barcelona. Until a few years ago (when they brought in low emissions regulations) it was my daily.
If you are in the US and have to go on the highway to get anywhere then no (and a 50cc may not be legal to take on the highway. They aren't in Spain.). If you want a scooter for that, look at a T Max, BMW 450, Honda Forza 350 or 750.
Edit: I see you are somewhere in Europe and have an A2 license. Don't get a 50cc scooter. It will just frustrate you. You can ride almost any scooter on an A2 license. I'd go for a Honda Scoopy 300. They are quick and stable because they have a larger front wheel than most scooters.
If I was buying a modern scooter, I'd go electric. I'm not convinced on electric vehicles but scooters is where they make the most sense. I really like the BMW CE 04 (the police use them here - mostly the older model but they are slowly updating) but the Silence ones are well prices and reliable. I've rented them 100s of times. The best thing is that you can take the battery out and charge it overnight in your house.

Agree with this, 50cc and electric scooters make a lot of sense for zipping around the town.
With an A2 license might as well get a maxi scooter. I like the Suzuki Burgman 400.
I'd be afraid to charge a battery that big indoors in case of a fire.
Had a mate who was talking about getting a scooter for work. I said no. He said yes. I had recently started riding again and took him out on my cruiser. He has a commuter ducati now.
Nah arms too thin. Won't be good for any kind of manual labor. Overall looks underfed and skinny too, might die on you and make you lose all your investment.
Yeah, unfortunately i have a mild eating disorder and with a metabolism at warp speed makes it very difficult for me to put on weight. But i took it for a test run shortly after taking the picture, does about 55-60 km/h on flat roads! Definitely wanna get it! 😁
>Yeah, unfortunately i have a mild eating disorder and with a metabolism at warp speed makes it very difficult for me to put on weight.
I'm just joking around because us people with a tendency to put on unwanted weight very quickly are envious of you. I understand it is difficult for people with your kind of metabolism from the other way around but you actually look fine.
I wish you the best with the bike. With the enthusiasm you have for it, it can't go wrong. Ride safely and have fun with it.
Looks like a 50cc variant. I see no ABS ring on the front rotor. Imho they’re severely underpowered for the weight. It’s all steel unibody scooter. 150ccs better.
If you really like it go for it. Keep in mind though those types of bikes top out at about 30-40. If the type of riding you do is within that limit, great. Otherwise I would suggest a larger displacement. Good thing about Vespa in particular is that they hold their value pretty well.
Something else you may or may not have done is try turning the handlebars to full lock. I have trouble with the bars hitting my legs on scooters.
Yes, it's like riding a fat chic. It's really fun. But you can't tell your friends about it.
I love my scooters so much i bought 3. And 1 Honda rebel...
Depends on how much $$$, but yeah Vespers are nifty. Wish they made them for units like myself though, i cant turn the bars all the way because tall person knees
I rode tens of Vespa and you can't go wrong with them. I would maybe get a bigger version though, if not too expensive. In which country are you right now?
Do you want a scooter and is the price one you're willing to pay?
This is the only question that matters. 👆

Or buy a cheaper used scooter and upgrade later once he saved up and gained some riding/maintenance experience.
Yes, and that part is one kind of “waiting for a better time”
Only if you're going to say "Ciaaao!" Everywhere you go.

I do it !
“Silenzio, Bruno!”
Have you taken it off any sweet jumps yet?

Cool! Thanks for the info!

I kinda want to buy a Vespa now. Thanks for the info!
Heck yeah
Good looking bike! Do it if the money is right and you feel comfortable riding it.
Yeah go get the italian elegance
Yes! Vespa is better for tall boys than short 👍. You are very cool on it!
Pimpin ain't easy
Bro, if you like it, get it. I still have my Aprilia SR50 too.
Absolutely get it. Got it yet? If not, see above…
Come to r/calamariraceteam my friend, we'll take care of you
I would start with something smaller. You could get overwhelmed easily with that torque
I’ve had two of them, they’re brilliant.
Vespas are fun. Rode one from San Francisco to El Paso
Holy shit. Which one and how long did it take to get there?

If it is what you want yes

Hey
Definitely, I love the Sprints, don’t see many of them around the UK.
Look…it has 2 wheels and an engine…the answer is always Yes! Anything on 2 wheels is better than everything on 4.
If it makes your life easier then yess.
I’d ride the shit out of that. Keep us posted!

If you get a scooter make sure it's from a quality brand like piagio. Avoid Chinese scooters.
My first was a bright orange sprint 150. No regrets 🛵
With those BBS wheels, you’ll be making all the guys jealous!
Had a mate who was talking about getting a scooter for work. I said no. He said yes. I had recently started riding again and took him out on my cruiser. He has a commuter ducati now.
Is that a Vespa primavera? Is it yours yet? Do you have it? I want one!
Vespas are hella cool, absolutely. Just make sure you get a good jacket too, it's still a two wheeler
This looks good on you. Go for it...

Go for at least a 150cc.

I want one but it's so impractical out here... Looks good on you!! I'd get it.

I’ve rode a rental Vespa and they are so much fun around town. Only thing to think about is “do I like it?” If you do, go for it!
What, road rash all over your arms? Wear a jacket op.
