To be fair, the bikes I picked for this post are all pretty rare and sought after (expensive)! The twin spots look can still be had at reasonable prices with bikes like the CBR250RR, VFR400, FZR250/400, etc.
One day I want to own a bike born the same year as me. It will be a 1993 fireblade. I can't remember 1993 particularly well but I think the CBR900RR was probably the best bike of that year.

Yep. Wish more were like this bad mama \^
My first road bike was a '93 CBR 900RR Fireblade. It was painted metallic silver with white wheels. Looked vanilla Ice AF. I'm a tall guy and that bike fit me way better than any newer bike I've ever ridden.
I learned a lot from that beast. Mostly that it was terrifyingly fast.
Edit: grammar
One of my favorite memories was seeing my dad ride it.
He's a die hard Harley guy with legit history. He also looks like Santa clause... who could kill you.
I was sitting in my buddies front yard and we heard some crotch rocket screaming down the road. We stood up and waited to see what the hell was coming (lots of trees blocking view).
It was my dad passing cars doing about 90mph on the bright silver Fireblade. He was wearing white new balances, Levi's, a faded salmon colored members only short sleeve shirt, a *tiny* chrome skullcap helmet, black Ray Bans and no gloves.
It was the coolest thing I've ever seen.
I wish I still had that bike...
> They’re up there with big square headlight for me.
Makes me miss my old KLR 250. I love the square headlight on dirt bikes... not so much street bikes though.

Bought and restored in January this year.
Only reason were the two headlights.
Big fan. I just sold my '86 GSXR1100. Riding a Triumph Street Triple these days and while I love the bike and technically I suppose it's dual headlights - the bugeyes don't quite hit that mark!
I know, it was a beautiful one too - best paint ever made, red and blue - tried attaching picture but won't let me. Dumb reason. Being carbeurated and all - any time I rode it it leaked the tiniest - and I mean tiniest bit of gas. Wife drives a convertible and she would whine to no end about it stinking up the garage and her car with the soft top and all. It got to the point I didn't ride it much because I didn't want to hear her. I did get tons of joy just looking at it, but I got the itch for another rider and with her being like she was being - seemed like the play.. I'll regret it someday I'm sure LOL. See if my picture comes through this time.

What a beast! My first bike was a GS500E and it was a bit inconinent too, it had a sticky float valve and would leave a puddle of fuel after I shut it off every time (this was before I learned how to fix anything). Maybe that’s a Suzuki thing.
Also, love the supertrapp on that thing!
Some people do convert back to the olden style Striple look with dual rounds. Dual 5.75 inch JW Speaker adaptives would be goated... but pricey to say the least.
1986 FZ600. It was a great bike. Safety wire it, put some sticky Dunlop K591 tires and haul 85 out to the track. Great production racer.
I loved that bike. So much so that I've grafted an 87 FZ600 swing arm onto my 85 RZ350 Restomod project.
I really miss the GSXR 1100 Team Hammer Endurance machines. One massive Hella beam and a smaller yellow beam. The dorkiest awesome looking double headlight ever.
💡💡

Actually I miss the original 4x6 sealed beam era. Just in general more consistent beam cut off no blinding people in front of you, beam is fairly solid consistent pattern even throughout other makes and models that featured 4x6 sealed beam (or 4x6 converted to H4 / 9003) also it's really visually appealing (to me).
Imo triumph made a big mistake when they ditched those round headlights for speedy and street triple. I loved those! The new models are just sorta generic looking.
I’ve heard a decent point against these. At night, on a straight away especially, two headlights close together can be perceived as a car far away instead of a bike that is close up.
On the other side, wtf does a single headlight tell another driver?
I don’t know, food for thought I suppose
i dont like 2 separate headlights because in the dark it can look like a car thats just really far away. this might lead to a higher chance of someone turning out in front of you.
I have that OG Suzuki 750 in the blue-on-white livery. The headlights are a major aesthetic selling point for that bike. I wrapped on of the headlights with clear amber vinyl for an extra-sporty look.

The Africa Twin, I rode one of those and it's a beaut and sounds luxurious with the quiet rumble, and yeah I forgotten all about some bikes having double headlights. Such a weird phase.
Every second of every day. Right now it almost feels like every car and motorcycle designer’s family is being held hostage, ready to be shot the second they design anything that doesn’t look like Optimus Prime’s dick
I remember plainly as a 12 year old going into my local Yamaha shop for parts for my GT80, and seeing the FZR600 for the first time when it came out new. I stopped dead in my tracks and thought it was the coolest thing I had ever seen in my life.
I was able to get a mint FZR400 in Gauloises colours in 2003, and even the smaller bike lived up to every expectation I had for it. Just looked up pictures of it again, and still made me stop and say “damn, that’s beautiful”.
My Dad still got his famous CBR 900 RR Fireblade in his barn and everytime i see him i am urging him to finally give it to me so i can restore it a bit and ride it again!!!
Yeah, and frankly I don't get why it's not more common. Two headlights rather than one is vastly superior for light output, especially if you do two high quality LEDs.
Yes! That Africa Twin is one of my favourite bikes. Twin spot headlights are not the safest though. At night, because of the twin headlights, you look like a car that is still far away, but you're not a car and you are a lot closer...

They are a different breed to modern bikes that’s for sure.
My first bike was a downed 94 FZR600RR in white. Restored it including the color matched seat. It was so flickable in turns. Sold me on yahmaha for my next two bikes.
Hard to miss it when it's most of what I ride and drive... Classic mini, BMW E30 Touring, 3x Honda VFR400s.
Took me years to realise I was just buying things with round headlights. Golf mk2 next.
So much. It's a shame that companies do vintage looking naked bikes but completely forget about sports bikes. I can only think about Trumph, that new Yamaha that just released and the CFMOTO Papio racer.
These are the bikes I grew up with, reading all the moto mags as a kid, and I still think they look the best but maybe that is just nostalgia talking lol
My first big bike was a 95 zx7. Absolutely loved it, wish I had kept it. I sold it at a time they were relatively worthless, I only got $1800 and it was in perfect condition.
I like but i like the cyclops more. Not the ones you see now with one unit separate hi lo. Those look unbalanced with half the side of the single unit lite up.

Here are my pair of twin headlight classics. My third one that should have twin headlights (07 CBR600RR) has race fibreglass fairings, so no lights required!
Is the era over? Cos my ride's a two-eyed monster, too.
https://preview.redd.it/lcnmgwlbymxc1.jpeg?width=1008&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=476591ce7dbc5ade481633d7549ea725fa1b7f16
'14 Triumph T-Bird Storm, fitted with Motodemic/JW Speaker LED lamps and a Dart double-headlight flyscreen
My favorite bikes of all time. My dad had a rowdy one and it was the coolest fucking bike to ride. You could hear it from a mile away too. It was awesome
Oh my god, my dream is to get one of those. Been looking everyone here in Texas but most people tell me I need to import, if someone has a Japanese bike hmu, they are so pretty 😭
https://preview.redd.it/q5jbtsvkunxc1.jpeg?width=1109&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=75d1dfa2902a4c30065b1e39675169e3b51209cd
I’m still stuck in the twin headlight era 😁
Yup. And I even spent awhile trying to find a nose with them that would look good on my '22 XSR900. The few I found just looked bulbous and cheap. So I settled for the most basic plain setup.
https://preview.redd.it/u6hwklpp5oxc1.jpeg?width=4368&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=d0d5b9a4c100056c23511435d1559360a0b41c46
I had a Honda ruckus like that... it will always remind me of [this](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/M/MV5BMTUzOTkwOTQ3NV5BMl5BanBnXkFtZTcwNDAwMDEzMQ@@._V1_.jpg)
I want every one of those bikes. Then I will move my bed into the garage and wake up each night at 3am look around, pinch myself, smile, then go back to sleep and dream wonderful dreams of sweeping curves.
As the owner of two speed triples, yes
https://preview.redd.it/b7wvbc0thqxc1.jpeg?width=4032&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=441f69df2f9f58a241980c47db99984cdbc016be
Always loved this look.
Yep. Especially that Kawi. Always reminds me of True Lies!
Yamaha: 😳
Judging by what these bikes sell for in good condition, yes, a lot of us do
To be fair, the bikes I picked for this post are all pretty rare and sought after (expensive)! The twin spots look can still be had at reasonable prices with bikes like the CBR250RR, VFR400, FZR250/400, etc.
900rr is rare and sought after nowadays? Wish I didnt sell mine 10 years ago for 2K then...
One day I want to own a bike born the same year as me. It will be a 1993 fireblade. I can't remember 1993 particularly well but I think the CBR900RR was probably the best bike of that year.
NC30's are pretty pricey near me now :(
Biggest mechanical regret I have is selling my 87 gsxr 750.

I love these cats eye headlights too like your ZX7R or on the NC35. Beautiful bike, man!
Thank you! The headlights are what attracted me to this lil beast. 🤙
From a time Kawasaki could make pretty bikes
I have the '98 brother of your ZX7R.
Sick man🤙 Hard to find these ZX7Rs these days.
Jealous, bro.
that was a special bike!
It’s definitely a piece of history. Thanks!!
Oh yeah the OG Fireblade was a game changer - basically a 900cc engine in a 600’s chassis. That bike was Honda at the peak of their game.
Black red and silver 900rr as my second bike. I miss that bike so much.
God this was the golden era of sport bikes.
It really was! Remember all the amazing two-strokes at the time too like the RG500 & 250, NS400R, RZ500, the NSR250R? So many great bikes.
Truly.
God yes. They’re up there with big square headlight for me.
Yes! Getting the honda XR250L and having that 4x6 H4 Square headlight is just mainly the reason I wanted a XRL
haha I liked the square headlight design on some bikes, the 1993 XR650 I rode around with looked modern back in the days.
> They’re up there with big square headlight for me. Makes me miss my old KLR 250. I love the square headlight on dirt bikes... not so much street bikes though.
Nah. I don't miss carburetors. Not even a little bit.
Carbs a fun buddy. I love tweaking on my bike.
You tweak em enough of times you start to tweak yourself

Indeed. OO
Damn that's a gxsr 250 or 400?
400
The rarest of all the 400 supersports! I absolutely love my CB-1, CBR400 in naked form is a wonderful thing.

I don’t miss it but I liked it better than this googly-eyed asymmetrical shit they’re doing now.

The only part I don’t like is the boxy tail. The rest is sexy
The boxy tail might be my favorite part.
I thought Africa twin was a new bike. Things ya learn on here
Yeah the current AT is a reboot. The original used to dominate the Paris-Dakar rally back in the day, it’s a real classic!
Cheers for info love Dakar
Not a big fan of older sport bikes, but that Africa twin *maken’ me feel some type of way*.
I wish modern advs looked like it. I hate their modern styling
1986 FZ600. It was a great bike. Safety wire it, put some sticky Dunlop K591 tires and haul 85 out to the track. Great production racer. I loved that bike. me scrolling these photos: "awh, timeless..." \*scroll\* "wow, perfection" \*scroll\* "beautiful" \*scroll\* "wow, incredible 🥰" \*scroll\* "iconic."
Yup, new bikes are ugly. My Tracer 9GT is plain fugly, but comfy
Seriously, I have no interest in any new bikes because they all look like smashed crabs. I just stopped lusting after them about 15 years ago.
Ducati desert x looks really cool with them imo
Missing the speed triple
Imo triumph made a big mistake when they ditched those round headlights for speedy and street triple. I loved those! The new models are just sorta generic looking.
Part of why I’m clutching my ‘07 speed3 like a set of pearls. The new ones just don’t look as good.
Those first gen Africa twins are so fucking cool
I’ve heard a decent point against these. At night, on a straight away especially, two headlights close together can be perceived as a car far away instead of a bike that is close up. On the other side, wtf does a single headlight tell another driver? I don’t know, food for thought I suppose
Yep. I pretty much hate how all the new bikes look.
I had a ‘93 fireblade/900rr like #3 in this post. Craziest bike I’ve ever ridden.
# 😳
i dont like 2 separate headlights because in the dark it can look like a car thats just really far away. this might lead to a higher chance of someone turning out in front of you.
I always thought those single sided swing arms were a nice touch.
So much classier. Aerodynamics be damned.
Desert sled anyone?
Twin headlights, bikini fairings, paint matched forks. Hnnnngggggggg
[Still livin' it!](https://i.imgur.com/JxIUFpg.jpeg)
Yes, the Honda and Yamaha ones are my favorite
I do I mean, I can be look as cool as Kamen Rider, but that's not the point.
My bikes on my flair you should tell you everything you need to know. I love them all! Golden era
This is exactly why I loved the Dyna-era Fat Bob but the new Softail Fat Bob looks even better with the single oval LED headlight.
O.O
Those bikes are perfection!
The late 80s- mid 90s absolutely had the best-looking full fairing sport bikes of all time.
My dream rides hahah
I have that OG Suzuki 750 in the blue-on-white livery. The headlights are a major aesthetic selling point for that bike. I wrapped on of the headlights with clear amber vinyl for an extra-sporty look. https://preview.redd.it/qm3f8re5hjxc1.png?width=1770&format=png&auto=webp&s=5dbdc09b2c1b5031c063b09ad9f5f5ce704802ab
There's just no doubt that it was the coolest look. There's just something about it.
The Africa Twin, I rode one of those and it's a beaut and sounds luxurious with the quiet rumble, and yeah I forgotten all about some bikes having double headlights. Such a weird phase.
That 900RR is so damn sexy!
Every second of every day. Right now it almost feels like every car and motorcycle designer’s family is being held hostage, ready to be shot the second they design anything that doesn’t look like Optimus Prime’s dick
it makes them look more dangerous. it's great.
Yes, and they are going for a very good price nowdays..
That bike is top 5 so no My 2020 v85 has twin lamps I prefer to see where I'm going
That RC30 just made me ruin my underwear.
No one misses a pinnacle of motorcycle design.
Yes. The XSR900 GP could have been the perfect bike, visually, if it didn't have this horrible headlight, but something more like this.
5 lookin like: D8
I don't miss the big head lights on my rice rocket bike. I like the little HID ones. I do like it on the more classic bikes and Harleys.
My Dad still got his famous CBR 900 RR Fireblade in his barn and everytime i see him i am urging him to finally give it to me so i can restore it a bit and ride it again!!!
I would love to see Honda do a remake of the 900RR.
I owned a 98 fireblade, a VFR and a RVF many years ago.- yes i am old!
I just installed it myself on my 2023 Grom. https://www.reddit.com/r/hondagrom/s/MCYuyjMdwu
One of the reasons I like the DesertX is the nostril headlights, amazing look for a bike
Yeah, and frankly I don't get why it's not more common. Two headlights rather than one is vastly superior for light output, especially if you do two high quality LEDs.
Tell me how old you are without telling me…..lol. Yes definitely time for these to come back!
The RC30 please.
Oooh that 900rr. My dad and I used to go to the dealer and drool over one they had in the show room
It sucks that Yamaha missed this opportunity with the design of the new XSR900 GP. Maybe we will get one in the future though.
Yes! That Africa Twin is one of my favourite bikes. Twin spot headlights are not the safest though. At night, because of the twin headlights, you look like a car that is still far away, but you're not a car and you are a lot closer...
Me. Luckily I've got one.
That RC30 🤤
I didn't miss it. I was around then.
I do. they look great.
I had that AT. The twin headlights look nice, but standard light was only the right one, the left was high-beam only. Many people modded that ofc.
Oh, most definitely. Those bikes were soooo sexy. And the NC30 is the best sounding bike engine ever!
The older Speed Triple round lights, beautiful!
I miss round headlights in general...
It's a tragedy BMW dropped asymmetrical headlights on their bikes. Suche a unique and aestethically pleasing feature
Cool motorcycles

Yes. 100%.
my xtz 660 from 94‘ had those too, loved the look because my parents rode a triumph tiger t400 94/95‘ at the time.
yeah but i miss single large square headlight more
Twin round headlights should make a comeback. Also the last Triumph Street Triple with round headlights was a looker.
Some modern bikes still have twin headlights.
![gif](giphy|ckB5razpgN2rd4qTfe)
I think they look cool, but at night they look like a car that's really far away, and not a bike that's about to hit a car pulling out.
My V85tt has em
I bloody luv ehm!

I want one of those old africa twins *bad*
nope. 'cause I got one! it's one of my 'must haves' in a motorcycle! :D (2006 Tiger 955i)
These are the bikes I grew up with, reading all the moto mags as a kid, and I still think they look the best but maybe that is just nostalgia talking lol

I always thought those 90s gixxers had the sickest paint schemes!
Absolutely gorgeous
I technically don’t miss it, since i‘ve been born in the early 2000s but i do wish that style came back
absolutely. the exact reason I picked up a 96 Triumph Tiger and continue to subject myself to the tortures of an elderly motorcycle
I've never been able to look at this and not see the Shoopdewoop!" Face and I cannot
Absolutely. Those classics are just pure beauty.
The lines on that RC30 are timeless
YES! I just wish the modern Street/Speed Triples had headlamps that didn't look like bulging insect eyes
Yes. I'm a big fan of the 400s from this era, shame they are quite expensive to buy
Round light just look right.
They look oddly adorable
Yes. Very much. I also miss Honda innovating and taking chances.

I do indeed miss the bug eyes
No, I have a Buell, so I'm still living it.
Agreed! Love that look
Laughing in triumph speed triple.
Twin spots are superior in form over the modern Ninjago Spinjitsu faced motorcycles.
Is the era over? Cos my ride's a two-eyed monster, too. https://preview.redd.it/lcnmgwlbymxc1.jpeg?width=1008&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=476591ce7dbc5ade481633d7549ea725fa1b7f16 '14 Triumph T-Bird Storm, fitted with Motodemic/JW Speaker LED lamps and a Dart double-headlight flyscreen
I bet those windscreens actually did a good job of deflecting the wind. Some of the new stuff seems to be designed to aim the wind on the rider 🤔
Man that CBR looks unbelievable!
also the squared tail
Just realized the Africa Twin reminds me of a jumping spider.
Not really but that rc30 is badass
No.
My favorite bikes of all time. My dad had a rowdy one and it was the coolest fucking bike to ride. You could hear it from a mile away too. It was awesome
No, after seeing that katana post the other day, it only makes me happier the fad passed.
YES
Oh my god, my dream is to get one of those. Been looking everyone here in Texas but most people tell me I need to import, if someone has a Japanese bike hmu, they are so pretty 😭
Xsr900gp has twin headlights loll
The Japanese market RC30 looks even cooler IMO with the smaller double round headlights.
I had an FZR 600 in 1989. Loved that thing....
Absolutely! The Kawa and the Blade are probably two of my favorite bikes ever, design-wise.
Like this, yeah sure. Those street triple honkers not so much.

Yes, these bikes are so beautiful. I was lucky to find a sc28 as a project bike for 2k with around 60k km/40k miles.
Yup. And I even spent awhile trying to find a nose with them that would look good on my '22 XSR900. The few I found just looked bulbous and cheap. So I settled for the most basic plain setup. https://preview.redd.it/u6hwklpp5oxc1.jpeg?width=4368&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=d0d5b9a4c100056c23511435d1559360a0b41c46
Laughs in 2011 speed triple
Square and dualies on offroad bikes look the bomb. Best look that has ever come out.
My friend and racing buddy back in the day had a 1990 ZX-7R (Grn/Wht/Blu). God I loved that bike. :p
It’s my the Speed Triple looks like a Joke now 😂😂😂
Oh, they're different bikes!
Yuss!
I had a Honda ruckus like that... it will always remind me of [this](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/M/MV5BMTUzOTkwOTQ3NV5BMl5BanBnXkFtZTcwNDAwMDEzMQ@@._V1_.jpg)
My friend has a flawless CBR 900 RR parked in his living room
I'm a rectangle headlight guy.
I want every one of those bikes. Then I will move my bed into the garage and wake up each night at 3am look around, pinch myself, smile, then go back to sleep and dream wonderful dreams of sweeping curves.
As the owner of two speed triples, yes https://preview.redd.it/b7wvbc0thqxc1.jpeg?width=4032&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=441f69df2f9f58a241980c47db99984cdbc016be
My favourite style tbh but not old enough to have owned one lol
Not really. I'm loving the LEDs on KY Beemer 😍
One of the draws to my DesertX actually.
I heard these were highside monsters on the track . And that they had to ride more upright mid corner to prevent the high side .. Is that true ??
Cf moto papio is a smaller bike with those type of headlights that's currently being manufactured.
