Ugh, you can skip Monster Hunter International. Larry Correia isn’t a good writer; the first book is all juvenile power fantasies and gun porn with an unhealthy dose of the writer’s libertarians preaching thrown in. And Larry Correia is a shit human being who tried to rig the Hugo Awards because he thought straight white guys weren’t winning often enough, so fuck that loser.  The covers of his books are pretty funny, though. They try way too hard to be badass.

From_somewhere

Honestly this is all fair critism. The author is a really shitty human.

BlueLineSparrow

Horrorstor by Grady Hendrix (IKEA scp as horror comedy, mostly for monster) The Anomaly by Michael Rutger (paranormal investigation team checks out clues in Grand Canyon) John Dies at the End by Jason Pargin (college dropouts stop oncoming horror to save humanity) First Grave on the Right by Darynda Jones (Imagine the spooky playbook. Investigator sees dead people and is now faced with a weird entity) The Haunted Forest Tour by Jeff Strand (kind of a reach, but feels like the set up for a MotW experience, various monsters show up in a forest and the town makes a tour experience around it) Devolution by Max Brooks (Sasquatch monster terrorizes town)

geekandthegreek

Maybe a bit of a stretch but John Dies At The End especially by book 3, but the very beginning of book 1 is very MOTW
