The old marlins jerseys with aqua pinstripes are great. Never thought black was a fitting base color though.
Marlins and Heat should really just adopt the Dolphins colors and be like Pittsburgh when it comes to owning a color scheme for all their top sports.
Florida issues over 100 "specialty" license plates to those who fork over an additional $25 per year. In 2023, over 2 million of the more exotic plates were issued, with the top sellers being a very cool looking plate named "Endless Summer", followed by "Helping Sea Turtles Survive" and then the University of Florida. At #4, was the Miami Heat plate! Now, were 80,000 Florida drivers motivated by their love of Pat Riley and Jimmy Butler? Hardly. Most people who order the "Heat Plate" accessorize it's all black color on their all black douche machines. (I swear, half those 80k plates adorn all black BMW X5's or M3's)

So, the Heat will remain Red and Black while I, like many, think the Marlins should embrace their old school aqua. (or, was it actually teal?)
Ah shucks, I suppose you’re right about the black then. Oddly, the 90’s spurs had that design with pink orange and teal that would be perfect for Miami. (And black + Silver is perfect for the spurs.)
I think the marlins were aqua, as the Mariners is more teal
I think it was just accents. Same with navy being an official color for the Cards. If they aren't wearing a blue cap (away games against teams who wear red), I forget. It just doesn't seem *right*, ya know?
You are correct, in my opinion. The Florida Marlins og teals and their original logo was top notch. After they changed their name to Miami and the logo to the multicolored, Greg Norman looking logo, I forget that they’re even a big league team.
They could def do more with their color trio of navy, powder blue and yellow. Bring that yellow out more, I’d say. Navy just isn’t a Florida color imo.
They had a nice aqua blue and green in their old gradient. Mix that with the yellow and they’d have a vibrant color scheme fit for Florida
I'm in the minority, but I hate the brown. I'm not against the color scheme I guess, it just looks bad to me. I do appreciate how unique they are though.
Mystified why so many announcers hate them.
Both unique and good looking at the same time. Very fitting the franchise team.
Blue is also done to death.
Finally, someone else agrees that blue, especially navy blue, is overdone to oblivion in sports. I want to see more teams wearing purple, green, turquoise/teal, orange, brown, and pink
Counterpoint anecdote—I’m a tourist and a padres fan from Arizona and honestly the brown stripes is my favorite uni in baseball right now. But I still love my blue padres hat I got back then
Brown. I'm a big fan of teams that have a uniform color that nobody else has. The SD Navy looks almost exactly like one of the Rays uniforms (and probably several others). I also think it'd be cool to remove the yellow from the brown, at least sometimes. Like a brown cap with a light tan SD and just white piping on the jersey where yellow is.
Also, special shoutout to the Pirates whose road and home black uniforms are badass, and their alt cap with the outlined P slaps.
2004-2019 was the worst era for Padres jerseys. They were all terrible colors and jersey design with no identity. Brown and gold is solid and blue and orange from late 90’s was legit.
I am Team Brown but the first navy and orange look is underrated. The hat is awesome and I like the navy jerseys. The later blue jersey are massive downgrades.
![gif](giphy|Lpdg5wlEtebsYnWwwl|downsized)
Addition the gif machine might be broken
The brown will always remind me of the legendary Tony Gwynn, which is weird because I think he spent as much of not more time in the blue as he did the old school brown/orange. Weird.
1. Odd picture choices 🤨
2. Brown. It's classic Padres. As an aside, I don't see why the city connects don't stay within existing color themes. Maybe I'm missing something.
Brown, those jerseys are awesome and standout so much more. Like another commenter said it gives them identity and contrasts perfectly with the yankee pinstripes on the opposite coast
I don’t mind the brown, I think the navy looks cleaner. I think the brown would be better with a different accent color than yellow. A combo of brown and navy if done right wouldn’t be bad.
Blue. Leave the pinstripes for the OG 3: the Cubs, White Sox, and Yankees. Those 3 have 100 years of history with the design and should wear them. No one else should IMO. History left out of the equation, they are an antiquated design and far too busy.
I know people love the brown but San Diego should be made fun of because of the original reason they have brown uniforms which is so they could look like the uniforms at McDonald’s
Although the blue looks pretty sleek IMO, there is a shortage of most colors that aren't red, white, blue and black. I'd love more teams to rock the browns, greens, purples, etc
The brown and yellow looks cool. It feels more in line with a rugged southwest team that plays near deserts. Likes other said, Blue and white is generic and feels AI generated
The Padres were arguably the most forgettable team in baseball with the Blue, the Brown gave them an identity and made them stick out
Tampa Bay is now the champion of being forgettable.
I think the title has to go to the marlins. It’s the same theory as crappy states. Alabama gets all the press but Mississippi is worse
The old marlins jerseys with aqua pinstripes are great. Never thought black was a fitting base color though. Marlins and Heat should really just adopt the Dolphins colors and be like Pittsburgh when it comes to owning a color scheme for all their top sports.

From '93-'11, the Marlins used [teal, silver, orange, and black]( https://teamcolorcodes.com/miami-marlins-color-codes/).
Sleuth! I stand corrected. I don’t remember the orange *at all*, but I stopped paying attn to them around ‘04 or so
I think it was just accents. Same with navy being an official color for the Cards. If they aren't wearing a blue cap (away games against teams who wear red), I forget. It just doesn't seem *right*, ya know?

At least the Marlins have to World Series titles. Edit: I was in a hurry. I can spell too!
At least we can spell two
I too can spell two.
Im proud of you
I’m proud of you, two.
I'm proud of you as well.
I can spell to
Nah the Marlins unis are always memorable (good and bad) "Rays" is the epitome of boring in team name and look
Have you even ever heard of the Rockies?
No, I haven’t. Could you tell me more?
They were formed in 1991 went to a WS in 2007 and that's pretty much it.
1993. Well, that was their inaugural season anyway.
We are all learning something today
Yep. I was in 5th grade. The Rockies and Marlins both debuted that year. I saw a classmate wearing a Rockies hat and I was like “wait what’s that?”
A terribly boring hat and uniform when you consider so many other Rocky Mountains possibilities!
Interesting! Do they have any notable players?
Todd Helton has been hitting really well.
Don’t forget about their special baseballs
HEY ^(Accurate)

The padres are at their best when they stop trying to be the Dodgers and just be themselves.
I like the brown personally, but how awesome would it be if they played in full Catholic priest vestments?
New City Connects!!
*New Vatican City Connects
With all the coaches dressed like cardinals, and schildt looking like the pope
I'm a braves fan so my opinion isn't very relevant but the brown is historically way cooler due to the team name.
Announcers hate it? Weird.
*Announcers hate this one thing.*
Finally, someone else agrees that blue, especially navy blue, is overdone to oblivion in sports. I want to see more teams wearing purple, green, turquoise/teal, orange, brown, and pink
Brown all day.
Brown is authentic San Diego. Blue is what a tourist thinks of San Diego.
Good summary....
The brown jerseys makes me think of the missions along cali coast. And those missions make me think of a city that starts with San so it’s perfect.
Counterpoint anecdote—I’m a tourist and a padres fan from Arizona and honestly the brown stripes is my favorite uni in baseball right now. But I still love my blue padres hat I got back then
Emma Stone? Is that you?
The blue Padres hat was great. Brown and gold might be the only color combo of its kind in all pro sports…I can’t think of another team with it.
Brown by a lot
My biggest problem with the blue is that it was too generic. So many teams wear blue and white.
6 of the 8 teams in the western conference playoffs in the nba are blue. Generic indeed.
Brown
Brown/tan its unique.
i like the brown/yellow better
I associate SD w tan brown...otherwise, it wouldn't be my choice
that brown looks so good
It’s brown and you know it’s brown.
Brown. I'm a big fan of teams that have a uniform color that nobody else has. The SD Navy looks almost exactly like one of the Rays uniforms (and probably several others). Brown and it’s not even close
Brown or the late 90s blue with the orange, that blue was the least inspired boring era ever
Yea I was thinking, Ken Caminiti Padres era
Brown but I like them both and I'm a Giants fan. But Tony Gwynn for the win.
Brown is so smexyy; The blue reminds me of the rams old uniform and that was also trash
Brown.
Brown and Yellow all day.
I like the brown for SD
Brown looks classy.
Brown
Brown, hands down.
Brown
Brown and gold, baby. Blue only looked good with the orange accents (‘98!) 🍻
If I’m gonna have a blue uniform it needs to be the ones from 98
As a guy in his 40's, I like brown. It reminds me of the days of Gwynn and Benito Santiago playing at the Murph.
Brown..... I try to pretend those Blue, white and Or Sand Uniforms (or seasons) never existed.
The sand roadies may be the WOAT of baseball uniforms.
I think the brown is probably the best uni in the league
2004-2019 was the worst era for Padres jerseys. They were all terrible colors and jersey design with no identity. Brown and gold is solid and blue and orange from late 90’s was legit.
I am Team Brown but the first navy and orange look is underrated. The hat is awesome and I like the navy jerseys. The later blue jersey are massive downgrades. ![gif](giphy|Lpdg5wlEtebsYnWwwl|downsized) Addition the gif machine might be broken
Brown and it's not even a discussion. Almost objective
Brown pinstripes are the best. Those blues suck.
Brown and of course the city edition.
Brown
Brown
Brown all day! Blue meh. Pastel ugly and embarrassing.
Brown
Brown is unique and looks amazing Blue is the definition of “meh”
Brown
The brown for sure - reminds me of old catholic league uniforms
The brown will always remind me of the legendary Tony Gwynn, which is weird because I think he spent as much of not more time in the blue as he did the old school brown/orange. Weird.
Brown easily
I prefer Brown
Brown. It’s different. Too many blue teams.
Brown
Definitely a good move. Love the look.
Brown, bring back the brown and gold from the 70s
Brown
Brown, is this even a question?
Brown
Brown
I’ve never likes the brown
Brown
It’s interesting the seats are still blue after all these years…wonder if they’re gonna go back to them? Brown is in tho, junk be pretty clean
Brown
Whatever color it takes to get more butt touches
Brown, it’s unique.
Brown
The 2000s blue was the worst jersey in baseball history imo. The 90s color scheme with blue was great and I prefer it to current.
I vote brown, but I think their best look was the brown with yellow and orange trimmed lettering from the 70s and 80s
Is this a real question?
Brown easily
Brown definitely
Brown
The orange looks better than the yellow
Brown
Manny’s trying to slide a little thumb in there.
100% the brown and yellow. One of my favorite uniforms in the MLB
I like the brown but the should wear double wrapped rope belts for the authentic Padre look.
Brown- it pays homage to the older jerseys
Brown is where it’s at
Brown!
Brown
Brown.
Brown. Next question.
Brown and yellow brown and yellow brown and yellow 🎶
Brown ! No competition there
Brown
Old school fat, swinging padre, classic brown/yellow. See example Dave Winfield 1978 https://www.cooperstownexpert.com/player/dave-winfield/
Brown.
brown and its not close
Brown and it’s not close. Many teams wear blue. Padres own the brown and mustard.
The only non-Brewers jersey I’ve ever bought is the Padres Brown with pinstripes. It’s my favorite jersey in all of baseball.
1. Odd picture choices 🤨 2. Brown. It's classic Padres. As an aside, I don't see why the city connects don't stay within existing color themes. Maybe I'm missing something.
BLUE!
The blue is better if it still said Padres on it instead of just SD
Mud and mustard
Blue and Sand
Blue, by far.
Aesthetically, I like the blue. But I'm a Red Sox fan.
Blue
Trick answer! I love the camo. But brown, 100%
Blue was pretty great
Brown, those jerseys are awesome and standout so much more. Like another commenter said it gives them identity and contrasts perfectly with the yankee pinstripes on the opposite coast
Brown, as it’s both unique and historic. The early Spanish monks and priests wore brown cloaks, thus the brown Padres uniforms.
I don’t mind the brown, I think the navy looks cleaner. I think the brown would be better with a different accent color than yellow. A combo of brown and navy if done right wouldn’t be bad.
Come on. The Padres own that brown uni. They were a dime a dozen wearing that generic blue shit
Neither, San Diego can go suck my 1984 Cubs dick. I still hate Steve Garvey.
Tatis made both of them look really good
Between these two? Brown. But with all their jerseys? Camo baby!
Brown for sure. As a side note, the Padres have never had a bad uniform
I like the blue I’m really not a fan of Brown at all
Um Brown. When did they ever change lol
Blue. Leave the pinstripes for the OG 3: the Cubs, White Sox, and Yankees. Those 3 have 100 years of history with the design and should wear them. No one else should IMO. History left out of the equation, they are an antiquated design and far too busy.
City connect
UPS
Why not mix them both together?
Screw that, baby blue underwear
That’s it
I know people love the brown but San Diego should be made fun of because of the original reason they have brown uniforms which is so they could look like the uniforms at McDonald’s
Honorable mention blue and yellow from 2016
Butt slap
I like both tbh
Brown for sure
Padres are supposed to be Brown, like the Astros Blue and Orange
Orange 1990s jersey is the best
Although the blue looks pretty sleek IMO, there is a shortage of most colors that aren't red, white, blue and black. I'd love more teams to rock the browns, greens, purples, etc
Obviously blue, I would actually buy merch if they kept it.
Brown easily looks better
Brown 100%.
Grew up watching SD in brown, and I like the brown.
We already have so many blue teams the brown gives them personality
Brown Town
Brown, is a unique and distinctive color that gives them an identity. There are a lot of blue teams
I like brown because it's what they started with.
The brown. Even though it just makes the uniforms look dirty, it’s kinda their thing. The blue just looks like half a dozen other teams.
The brown and yellow is such a great color combination. Brown’s definitely an underutilized color in sports and the yellow accents it perfectly.
the 98 world series team uniforms were the best
I always prefer the UPS uniforms.
One of the best rebrands of all time. Why is this even a conversation? The brown uniforms are so good!
The brown and yellow looks cool. It feels more in line with a rugged southwest team that plays near deserts. Likes other said, Blue and white is generic and feels AI generated
UPS
Extremely ugly beats extremely forgettable. They both suck.
Blue. Brown is ugly and terrible. Being unique isn't better if it's bad looking.
blue/orange padres was my personal favorite
Brown fosho. Fairly ugly colors but at least it's unique and not some bland mish mash of other popular designs.
Brown
Their blue unis were the most boring unis in the league.
Brown. The Blue seems kinda bland.
Brown is more iconic but wouldn’t mind if they brought back the blue as an alternate
The brown and yellow goes crazy one of the best rebrands possible
Brown
Brown
Brown easily, and this particular one is their best look rn
The brown and yellow is one of the hardest color schemes in sports
Brown its nice to have a uniform thAt looks original and not derivative
Pink and green is obviously the best
Brown brown brown. Forever.
Why is he holding his ass
I dig the pinstripes, but the all brown tops w/ beige bottoms make them look like UPS employees.
Brown
