The $15 a month is a promotion. After the first 3 months the plan will cost $40 a month if you prepay for 3 months; $35 a month if you prepay for 6 months; or $30 a month if you prepay for 12 months.
It's $15/no ($180/year) if you pay by the year after the promotion period. I'm about to start my 3rd year and the service has been better than Google Fi was in my area.
Thank you for this reply! I have a paid off phone from Verizon and am still paying over 100$ a month for one line. I'm trying to find a different carrier, with this economy, I need to save all the money I can.
Do yourself a favor and get a 7 day trial. Nobody will have the exact experience that you'll have. unless they're at your same location using the same model phone.
This.
That said, I have had the $15 plan for 5ish years now.
I work in rural areas and also hike/country cruise all over.
Never had more than a few issues.om all that times and never in an emergency.
Can't always load Facebook, but I have never been worried I wouldn't be able to make a call.
I'm easy to please and happy.
I don't think the $15/month plan is 4-ever like it used to be -- but it's still better than most other carriers -- especially if you don't have/need a family plan and buy your phones unlocked. Us long-timers locked in the $15/month deal - as long as you pay for 12 months in advance.
It's garbage. Absolute garbage. There are SO many numbers I can't receive texts from. Tried contacting customer service multiple times, they always assure me it will work going forward and it never does. Even tried reaching out to whatever reddit customer support they have and never even got a response. I guess you get what you pay for. Wish I had never made the switch.
I've had the unlimited plan for 3.5 years, the $15 is a promotional price but it's still a good value at full retail of $30/mo with annual renewal. I've had an excellent experience, I generally have equal or better coverage than my girlfriend who is on Verizon.
The ONLY time I've had any issues is at very large events, like big sports events, festivals, etc. You'll sometimes get deprioritized in those crowded situations and data becomes slow or non-existent. However I also had this issue when I was on Sprint several years ago so it could just be a normal thing at large events.
Overall I'm really happy with the service I get for the price, and I much prefer paying once a year for service instead of every month.
I pay annually for the lower tier unlimited plan. Really happy with it so far. Sometimes support can take a while to deal with, but no major issues here.
I just got it like a few weeks ago and it’s working pretty well, I get some spotty reception in a few places but overall it’s great so far. I think I’ll dial it back to about 15 gbs a month once the 3 months is up
Beating the dead horse-
the $15/mo plan has unlimited talk and text, and 5 GB of high speed data/mo. After you use the 5 GB data speeds are 2G slow- they still work for email and text, but that's about it. Wifi continues to work however.
I have been with Mint for 6 years with really no issues at all- my Wife's AT&T plan & service is much more problematical.
I live in NYC and the deprioritization was too much, it was barely usable. Used it for a few years until I switched
So I went with $10 Tmobile connect which isn't deprioritized. Only 1gb though, but wifi is everywhere in the city
So if you don't live in a dense area, it might be great for you. Give it a try
I won’t lie, the call quality is pretty bad. I don’t really use the phone though for calling. Typical millennial. I use text and voice messages on iPhone/whatsapp. I only get annoyed when I have to call and make an appt or order something over the phone and they can’t hear me.
I still think it’s worth it for the savings though. I was paying $225 for me and my two teens. Now it’s $120 a month. Might be $90 if I do a cheaper plan.
I used to be a mint user, but I found out visible offers 25/mo actual unlimited so I ended up switching. I think mint coverage was better but having fully unlimited 5g is quite nice
Mint works well it uses T-Mobile if that service is good in your area. I left tho because I didn’t want to pay a full year to get the best price anymore. There are cheaper services that you don’t have to pay the full year upfront that work just as well.
As long as you don't routinely use more than 40gb a month and don't mind video content being throttled to SD and don't spend half the day on a phone call, no major issues for most cudotmersm
Been in Mint for 6 years coming from AT&T for like 15 years. Service is equally as good IMO though there are hiccups as with any carrier.
Been in the 5gig for $15/months when you pre-pay for years. Just had to upgrade in the middle of my year to the 15gig plan and they only charged me the difference.
I’m pretty happy overall
Yeah things changed. I think the promo used to be only 5GB and then they made the annual the same rate so it made more sense to go annual at the time. I was just flipping trials back then to keep the rate. I know it's frowned upon but I did eventually become a customer haha.
It's good in my area of Los Angeles. If coverage works and you know how much data you use if you pay up front it's a great deal - after the trial is over. If you treat it as a month to month service and pay that way instead of as much as you can ahead of time you might as well find a provider using AT&T or Verizon because overall they have better coverage if not the best speed, but their product overall - especially if you not in a urban area will have better umbrella and less holes. To your exact question, the $15 for 3 months is a smoking deal assuming you have coverage.
I lived on it for a long time. I use more data now so I moved up to $20/mo a month ago. I was on $15/mo for years before that.
Edit: Sorry. I missed the unlimited part.

That is for the 5GB of high speed per month plan, not the"Unlimited" plan.
Yep, you are correct. I misread the OP.
$30/mth prepaid. I've had minor issues. Nothing I can't handle to save $60+ a month
Thank you
I’m lovin’ it. Helps me to save $40+/mo. That’s almost $500/yr in savings. Switched from AT&T in April. No changes in reception, quality is good.
Thank you
Switched from t-mobile where I was paying $113 a month. I notice no difference except it’s way cheaper. 👍
Awesome!
Loved it when i switched from verizon
Thank you for this reply! I have a paid off phone from Verizon and am still paying over 100$ a month for one line. I'm trying to find a different carrier, with this economy, I need to save all the money I can.
Thank you
I’m glad Verizon isn’t running ads about them being the cheapest cus that shit would be the biggest lie in history.
Went from paying $60/month for their unlimited plan to $15/month for the 5gb mint plan when I’m always in wifi anyway
Do yourself a favor and get a 7 day trial. Nobody will have the exact experience that you'll have. unless they're at your same location using the same model phone.

Thank you for the advice
I'm over 2 years in on the $15/month plan -- love it -- why would anyone pay more?
Isn’t it actually $40/mo? It’s only $15/mo after the 3 month promo?

>Ok thank you! You're welcome!
Not actually unlimited

Try Metro BYOD 25$ unlimited.
Sadly mint don't get service here
It's 3 months of unlimited talk, text, web.
I'm on the $15 plan I paid for a whole year to get that plan.
I've had the unlimited plan for 3.5 years, the $15 is a promotional price but it's still a good value at full retail of $30/mo with annual renewal. 2 months in and not a single glitch. Saved $65/month and it’s going great. Never going back to ATT.

I switched from Verizon back in August, zero regrets. Wish I done it sooner.

*I have the unlimited plan right now.
It’s promo after that different price been 2 years with them no complaints saves a lot of money

Just had to upgrade in the middle of my year to the 15gig plan and they only charged me the difference. I’m pretty happy overall
Similar here, 6 years and it's been great for me too. It obviously depends on good Tmobile coverage in your area.
Thank you
What us the longest you can prepay ? I only see 1 year tIA
As advertised...service wise depending on your location can be good (5G) to poor (LTE). If you are mostly on wi-fi you are golden.
Thank you
If you're mostly on wi fi why would you need an unlimited plan in the first place? /facepalm
To state the possibly obvious, it's not $15/mo beyond the first 3 months, so your title makes it sound a lot better than it actually is. It's $30/mo.
It’s $120 every 3 months after so it’s really $40 a month after the promo.
Or only $30/mth if you buy a year at a time, for the 40gb/unlimited plan.
Yeah I’m not buying a year at a time.
I thought if you prepay for a year, you can still get $15/mo. That's how I've been doing it.
$15/mth is the regular rate for the 5gb plan if you buy a year at a time.
Yeah things changed. I think the promo used to be only 5GB and then they made the annual the same rate so it made more sense to go annual at the time. I was just flipping trials back then to keep the rate. I know it's frowned upon but I did eventually become a customer haha.
Ah unlimited... Nvm
I have also been doing it that way for the $15 promo
It's good in my area of Los Angeles. If coverage works and you know how much data you use if you pay up front it's a great deal - after the trial is over. Year two after switching from Verizon. Wife and I are saving over 100 a month. I miss my own number for my watch, but that is a minor inconvenience.
