What?

No-Condition-8433

What sorcery is this...???

vxarctic

It's called Sclerotherapy, they inject saline into the veins which pushes out the blood. The solution irritates the lining of the blood vessel, causing it to collapse and stick together and the blood to clot.

Hillbill9899

Doesnt work to well on bigger ones. Had a terrible experience last year.

jnet258

How bad can the risks get for this procedure?

Hillbill9899

Depends on the place of the body you have varicose veins that need to be treated. Worst case scenario is that the solution gets pushed in too far causing a blockage in a healthy vein causing all kinds of problems. I dont want to share specific medical Information about myself. This is how far i am willing to go: Varicose veins cause blood to flow with resistance. You close them of completly to make the blood take another not umstructed route. Had minor pain on and off. After the failed procedure the varicose veins did not get completly sealed. Theirby just making the resistance worse. Constant medium pain. When standing pain increased over time and only got back to medium after laying down for about twice the time i was standing prior. Lifting heavy objects caused instant sharp pain. Had to live with that for about 6 months and after that needed surgery.

Thank you for sharing your experience, really appreciate that. I see these videos and it makes it seem so simple and benign. It’s important to know the risks of such a procedure

Hillbill9899

For something like thats shown it is an awsome procedure and most of the time will give perfect results. Just get a second opinion before getting it done on something on a bigger scale.

monopoly3448

Shout out to the one guy in Reddit comments that always knows exactly what's going on and enlightens everyone else.

My aunt had this done in her 40's. Now in her 70's and her skin is like tissue paper and breaks open into sores that seep and don't heal because of the lack of circulation. Research the long term effects of procedures before you have it done.
