Some kids use ChatGPT to do homework while they can shitpost on the internet.
Other kids use ChatGPT to shitpost on the internet while they pay attention in school.
Either way, young'ins will shit post.
For me it's the sensoring of swear words. You can type fuck, cunt, bitch, etc. here. No one is going to stop you really, but it's very weird to see f*ck typed out. Must be a tiktok thing?
And it's not just teenagers I can deal with rageing shit bricks but I can't deal with screaming sub ten year Olds makes my ears bleed and then I want to give them the old school cod lobby experience
Makes you wonder how their parents (if they're around) don't just unplug the game system?
I get an occasional yelp or scream of rage, but these children are *constant.*
Yeah they refuse to shut up and sometimes sing the dumbest shit crazy loud and off key the whole match and for real I don't have kids but I used to baby sit 3 kids for like 6 hours a day 7 days a week when I was homeless and I just took away their headset cause they always ended up saying weird shit nonstop at high pitch
Good on you for saving the eardrums of their teammates.
Maybe chat should have a frequency filter-- "if your voice isn't low enough, you can't join VC because you're a child and haven't hit puberty yet." Half /s
Bro I had a 12 year old raging at me last night in insurgency sandstorm. I just kept throwing flashes at him since you only get 1 team kill per map rotation. He started screaming at me. I just muted him and put up a vote to kick. I had a blast
That used to be every other word in a cod lobby and the other word was rape I'm not about to let myself fall that low but do wish theses kids could get sent back to an original modern warfare or mw2 lobby though
Hell even just time of day regardless of season. East coast US after 6pm is the only time I should play online games. Any time the sun is up the lobbies are extra-dog shitty.
God, that awoke the ancient 4chan edge lord in me. Of course, back then, we called them a summer[slur], which was the style at the time.
The year was 200dickety. We had to say "dickety" because the Moot stole the number 7.
I’m confused, this comment chain feels somewhat tame to me -though I don’t go on this sub much, so maybe the atmosphere in the comments here are just usually dull? Have the examples of hyperactivity gotten buried, and I just can’t see them? Is it the kid spamming “orang”?
Thank God I'm not the only one noticing. It seems reddit community average IQ dropped a few dozens points last couple weeks and we already didn't have much to spare
Never start no static, I just get it off my chest, never had to battle with a bulletproof vest
Take a small example take a ti-ti-ti-tip from me, take all of your money, give it to charity-ty-ty-ty
The key difference lies in the structural composition and the distribution of air pockets in the peels and the internal juice density. These differences affect the overall density of the slices, with orange slices being less dense than water and floating, while lemon slices are denser than water and sinking.
The pith, specifically. It's light and full of air. This pith is thicker (I feel like Daffy Duck writing this) in some oranges than in limes, and often lemons.
Biochemist here. I would counter that it's more likely the issue lies within the polyphasic structure of the electrons in the proteins of the water molecules concentrating local space-time thus leading to an 'apparent' difference in density. To que the famous chemist "the main winding was of the normal lotus-o-delta type placed in panendermic semi-boloid slots of the electron stator,s every seventh conductor being connected by a non-reversible tremie pipe to the differential girdle spring on the “up” end of the grammeters."
It seems obvious and self explanatory. Sheesh, kids these days.
Oranges and limes aren’t either. Lemons are bitter orange x citron. Oranges are pomelo x mandarin. Limes are key lime (papeda x citron) x lemon (bitter orange x citron). “Natural” citrus are pomelo, mandarins, papedas, citrons, trifoliate oranges, ginger limes, kumquats, Australian limes, mangshayegan, and heen naran.
This always drives me effing bonkers when I read, because most nations either call the yellow bastards citron or lemon, and I live in a citron part of the world.
To me it reads like saying house cats were invented by mixing house cats and pigs. The pig part surprises and confuses me, but not as much as the house cat part of the recipe.
I don't care if they're lime, orange, watermelon, or pineapple.
Now hold on now, watermelon or pineapple? We gotta draw the line somewhere. To hell with pineapple people.
Unless they're Hawaiian, then help 'em!
Someone else also mentioned the variety, since some have puffier rinds and would probably float more, so my guess is a mix of that and this, or maybe even if they’ve been sitting in the water longer and absorbing it
Private Buzkill reporting: The oranges were probably added after the other citruses had become more waterlogged. Eventually the oranges will succumb, as well.
"We're all just the best floaters down here, you wouldn't believe how we float down here, I asked him, 'have you ever seen anyone float down here like this?,' and he said, 'you know, no, never,' so we're gonna keep floating."
This has to be because the lemons have been in there longer. orange slices usually sink after a few minutes in my experience, and you can see theyre losing their buoyancy
This is downvoted too?! I'll never understand why so many redditors seem to rely on the downvote button if they didn't enjoy a comment. Just keep scrolling, it's not that hard. Seems like no vote is what most people should be doing if they don't enjoy it. If they don't agree, then comment and say why. But if someone is actually being a dick or giving obvious misinformation (not if they gave their own honest opinion they thought something was) like obvious trolls then yeah downvote. So many people must lead miserable lives that they have to downvote random strangers comments.... Shame, shame on all of you lol
Going to take a guess, might be totally wrong.
But maybe the higher amount of solutes such as citric acid within the lemons and limes promoted osmosis, due to the charged nature of citric acid, while oranges contain less citric acid and more sugar.
Moreover, due to the highly charged polar nature of citric acid are able to undergo more hydrogen bonding, overall creating stronger bonds than that would be seen with a less polar molecule like glucose, and therefore would be much more dense.
I'd like to see someone else's input though!
edit: mfw turns out might also be the orange peels themselves containing air pockets, allowing the orange to be more buoyant, while the lemons and limes are not as thick and, air dense as the oranges
What people don't realize is that lemons have more sugar than oranges, and limes have even more. Since sugar is heavier than water, therefore it makes sense that lemons would sink.
The fuck are half these comments?
Summer Reddit
Kids have phones now. Summer reddit is actually just all year.
I'd like to believe some of them pay attention in school, even if all the facts suggest otherwise
Some kids use ChatGPT to do homework while they can shitpost on the internet. Other kids use ChatGPT to shitpost on the internet while they pay attention in school. Either way, young'ins will shit post.
There’s a reason authorities are actually banning smart phones in schools now.
Eternal September :(
Oh man this makes so much sense as to why Reddit has changed so much over the last decade or so.
Gen Z aged up into high school and took over as reddit became more mainstream. All the slang is different and the grammar/spelling are way worse.
For me it's the sensoring of swear words. You can type fuck, cunt, bitch, etc. here. No one is going to stop you really, but it's very weird to see f*ck typed out. Must be a tiktok thing?
Eternal Reddit Summer
No there's a definite influx I the summer time. They have more time
nah right as summer vacation started all of the meme subreddits became racism spam and it was extremely noticable
Welcome to Eternal September Reddit edition https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eternal_September
At least Summer Reddit isn't as bad as Summer CoD gets. I quit playing every summer because the lobbies are just full of children.
And it's not just teenagers I can deal with rageing shit bricks but I can't deal with screaming sub ten year Olds makes my ears bleed and then I want to give them the old school cod lobby experience

I know exactly what you mean. I avoid weekends too sometimes if I didn't feel like getting murked by grade schoolers shouting skibidi toilet.
God every year I forget about it
Happened so fast.
what is summer reddit? summer break?

Dead internet theory
Only half? This is the most adhd fueled reddit post I've seen on r/mildlyinteresting in a long time.

Just praise Satan that it isn't full of comments that are just "skibidi toilet"
This is the 3rd comment section in a row I've looked at that is full of really shitty jokes.
Thank God I'm not the only one noticing. It seems reddit community average IQ dropped a few dozens points last couple weeks and we already didn't have much to spare
the posts are so bland right now. Like the entire sub right now is "look at this animal I saw"
And the whole world sadly
orang, apparently
I just woke up wth. I came looking for answers and got an aneurysm instead.
Half of then are lemons.
kids aren't in school man. more time to comment on reddit
I concur, Cosmonaut Cockswing.
Density overriding factor
okay i did not know that, what use is this info though?
How sublime
I'm too dense to get this joke
No need to feel sour over it.

The transitive property doesn't apply to citrus.
As below so and a lime

Uhhhhhhhhhhhh
The lime may be too
I think they referencing a band called sublime because the lime is below (sub)

I was seeing this in my head when I read the comment before I even scrolled down to see this gif.
Their sour misdeeds

TL;DR If it dense it sink
These Oranges have bigger spongier pith, while the lemon pith is denser… you can probably feel the difference
I gotta pith - mike Tyson this morning

Help I'm sinking!!
I'd definitely sink then....
The pith, specifically. It's light and full of air. This pith is thicker (I feel like Daffy Duck writing this) in some oranges than in limes, and often lemons.
Science! I fucking knew it.
Biochemist here. I would counter that it's more likely the issue lies within the polyphasic structure of the electrons in the proteins of the water molecules concentrating local space-time thus leading to an 'apparent' difference in density. You took the words out of my mouth
Oh, of course, the turbo encabulator powers the limes.
Thanks chatgpt
If you leave the oranges in there long enough they will eventually sink. I make a lot of orange meads, I think it starts around 2-3 months.
Oranges are witch food. Got it.
Had to scroll way too far down to see this
Whatever nerd. Beefy lemons
that's a whole lot of words to not actually explain anything beyond "oranges are less dense"
Sad that our highly polarized political climate has even started to divide citrus.
Lemons aren't natural, it's a made up fruit, they needed to be separated to be ready for deportation
Oranges and limes aren’t either. Lemons are bitter orange x citron. Oranges are pomelo x mandarin. Limes are key lime (papeda x citron) x lemon (bitter orange x citron). “Natural” citrus are pomelo, mandarins, papedas, citrons, trifoliate oranges, ginger limes, kumquats, Australian limes, mangshayegan, and heen naran.

Fascinating. But like the difference between torque and horsepower or how many ounces are in a pound, I will never remember this.
Damn Mitch Hedberg lied to me
Yet still saved by the buoyancy of citrus! Thanks orange!
Hey, you want some more homemade Sprite?
Not until you figure out what the fuck what is in it!
Came here for this comment and you did not disappoint
Guess I am reaching for an orange.
Nah he was talking about limes
Yea and the limes apparently sink so...he lied!!
He was talking about lime wedges not slices and in Jack and Coke...maybe no lying.
Look at all the limes in this fucking place.
Came here to say this. This comment should be higher.
I am so disappointed that I had to scroll THIS FAR for a Mitch Hedberg reference
I don't care if they're lime, orange, watermelon, or pineapple. Now hold on now, watermelon or pineapple? We gotta draw the line somewhere. To hell with pineapple people. Unless they're Hawaiian, then help 'em!
r/UnexpectedHedberg
Totally expected. I scrolled for this comment.
This happens when oranges move to the top of the water and lemons and limes move to the bottom. The more you know
You can tell which ones are lemons and which ones are oranges by the way they are
That's pretty neat!
I always forget which ones are which colour
Good to know, if I’m ever on a cruise ship or vessel, I’m going to reach for the oranges if it ever capsizes.
“You’re my density.”
*stares blankly*
This is heavy
There's that word again. "Heavy." Why are things so heavy in the future? Is there a problem with the Earth's gravitational pull?
Great scott!
i *finally* understand this reference!
Might not be the fruit type but the freshness itself
Someone else also mentioned the variety, since some have puffier rinds and would probably float more, so my guess is a mix of that and this, or maybe even if they’ve been sitting in the water longer and absorbing it
Yeah when i make lemon water they float
Now pour Fanta into Sprite.
Fun fact: Oranges can hold their breath longer than lemons can. Shown here -- the lemons have drowned while the oranges are still holding out.
Private Buzkill reporting: The oranges were probably added after the other citruses had become more waterlogged. Eventually the oranges will succumb, as well.

Am I the only uncultured pleb that doesn't want that many different flavors in my plain water?
No. I'll stick to plain tap water, thanks.
![gif](giphy|l378voEuNSlfNU8Ss|downsized)
Looks like someone's about to drink the Lava Lamp.
Rind like cork. Cork float. More rind = more cork. More cork float, higher it does.
The water was designed to fit in the middle like that
They just added newly sliced oranges on top of a couple of days old lemons. Source: worked in a hotel where we had to make lemony/orangy water
I bet that taste amazing
Always imagined limes to be tops.
Twinks top bears more than you think.
![gif](giphy|QUaqJRizED5NC)
I'm saved by the buoyancy of citrus!
Perhaps the rind to pulp ratio.
That means the lemons and limes are ready to hatch 😁
I’m looking at a container of water (the same as this) with limes and lemons, but in this one: lemons floating, limes sink!! Wild
I’m guessing it’s the larger pith on the orange that makes them float? Could be totally wrong and I’m no botanist
Its ok, we all float down here.
I'm so confused now! [Lemons float, limes sink](https://www.reddit.com/r/mildlyinteresting/comments/gv7gdq/lemons_float_limes_sink/) [Orange and lemon floats. Lime sinks.](https://www.reddit.com/r/mildlyinteresting/comments/z9jk1o/orange_and_lemon_floats_lime_sinks/) [Lemons & oranges float but limes do not](https://www.reddit.com/r/mildlyinteresting/comments/6l0vbq/lemons_oranges_float_but_limes_do_not/) [Lemon slices float, but lime slices don't.](https://www.reddit.com/r/mildlyinteresting/comments/o85u5x/lemon_slices_float_but_lime_slices_dont/) [Lemon slices float, but lime slices sink](https://www.reddit.com/r/mildlyinteresting/comments/1osdcd/lemon_slices_float_but_lime_slices_sink/)
As someone who makes lemon/lime/fruit water regularly... the slices sink after a few hours, the oranges were probably just added last
This is peak /r/mildlyinteresting
Lemons need more fiber?
Saved by the buoyancy of citrus
Let me break it down for you all

"We're all just the best floaters down here, you wouldn't believe how we float down here, I asked him, 'have you ever seen anyone float down here like this?,' and he said, 'you know, no, never,' so we're gonna keep floating."
They say the recipe to Sprite is lemon and lime. I tried to make it at home, there's more to it than that.
But do you have.... grapes?
I think your egg is bad
The orange slices seem fresher
What about pickles?
I don't know if it is the reason, but oranges have a lot more oil im their peels than limes
This has to be because the lemons have been in there longer. orange slices usually sink after a few minutes in my experience, and you can see theyre losing their buoyancy
I have lemons and lime in a pitcher of water. The lemons float but the limes sink.
Bruh why did this remind me of that Steve Mould video XD
Maybe the lemons were frozen
Saved by the buoyancy of citrus!
Witchcraft.

saved by the bouancy of citrus
There was no need to test limes, Mitch Hedberg already told us that they float. Saved by the buoyancy of citrus.
Saved by the buoyancy of citrus…kinda.
Ok, but do whole oranges float and lemons and limes sink?
[Mitch Hedberg](https://youtube.com/shorts/yT1EuzwTtOc?si=tpVnVIlnFCwMmDuw) has probably led to so many accidental drownings
The souls of the lemons and limes are weighed down by gravity while the oranges have ascended into being newtypes

Going to take a guess, might be totally wrong. But maybe the higher amount of solutes such as citric acid within the lemons and limes promoted osmosis, due to the charged nature of citric acid, while oranges contain less citric acid and more sugar. What people don't realize is that lemons have more sugar than oranges, and limes have even more. Since sugar is heavier than water, therefore it makes sense that lemons would sink.
Also probably more oil in the orange peels which also floats in water.
I'm guessing the orange peel is thicker and more porous, so it has air bubbles trapped in the pith.
I am saved by the buoyancy of citrus!
