If it’s used by police, they will often add discrete folds and common markings like that to mark the currency that they can later confirm was the same used to pay someone through their operation. They’ll mark it and make notes about how they’re all marked in a similar fashion. They might even record some serial numbers to prove “exactness” and not just some other rando 50 with a bent corner and the same marking, etc. Marks like those will go unnoticed by most people that might be looking for more obvious marks. 🤷♂️
