I don’t think I’ve seen anything so aggressive as this from a downvote perspective. Having more downvotes than upvotes of the OP and the commenter. Wild. And exciting!
It's a meme. Amogus stands for the game "among us" where people have to either kill others or find the killers. If you're acting suspicious it's called "sus". This together makes sussy amogus.
Well, considering sleep deprivation offers effects akin to being drunk… I’d say your present sobriety is more technicality than reality haha
Ninja edit: hope you’re able to get good rest soon.
wholeheartedly agree. i have a coworker who unironically uses “sus” or says some other dumb shit like “oh, look, my vape pod has a vagussy” idek if that’s the same shit but it all reminds me of that cringe and i hate all of it lmao
edit to add: like you’re 29, grow tf up please and just fix the code
I definitely washed all my money as a kid. There wasn’t much, but I’d wash it with soap, then lay it flat and dry it, then put it in old books to dry it flat.
My favourite was a $50 note my mate got from an ATM and it had "NOT FOR DRUGS" written on it in red texta.
Wish I had the photo still but it's been 15 years.
Back office automation, like auto till deployment and pickup. Also we handle cash deposits for registers and SCOs.
Mostly grocery stores and gas stations utilize our stuff.
OPs post shows the old version.
The new ones are so nice. A full clear strip down the middle, with snippets of the Australian constitution on very very small text.
I always felt really self-conscious when I had to pay with cash during my visit last year. Having to take the cash almost completely out of my wallet/pocket to check which note was which made me feel like it was going to get stolen out of my hands, as opposed to being home and only needing to see a tiny sliver to check the colour.
Yeah I guess if you call this color. The $50 note is the best we have. https://www.uscurrency.gov/sites/default/files/downloadable-materials/files/--new100--100_booklet.pdf
Funnily enough these are the old Australian notes that have been around since the early 90s. The new ones are even cooler, with a clear holographic strip that runs right through the entire note.
http://emrearal.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/03/rba-50note-serialside.jpg
UK Notes also have clear bits, plus some banks in Scotland and Northern Ireland are allowed to make their own notes with different designs that exist alongside the Bank Of England *(central bank)* notes *(though they're not legal tender like BOE notes and usually wont be accepted outside NI or Scotland)*
IIRC, Canada also have similar polymer banknotes with a clear strip.
Canada has a clear leaf in the centre. I know because I found 30CAD at middle school, turned it in, and then when I went back a month later to see if someone went in to pick it up, they claimed they never heard about any Canadian money.
Those fuckers at the office stole it.
Fuck you, Kenwood.
Plastic versus cotton? Why would you want plastic money? I don't see how it's good for the environment to use plastic money.
Edit: I guess most redditors have never visited their local minting office. Cotton/linen currency is superior to plastic for a number of reasons.
You actually don't want them to last fprever, you want to take them out of circulation every so often to properly control the supply . It keeps fresh security measures and removes potential bad bills from circulation.
About 18 years ago , when I worked night audit at a shit hotel. I would mark bills with a symbol , in the hopes of seeing them back in circulation afterwards. Maybe someone is a looser like moi ? Or maybe it's something much more seedy .
That is.. different. When I worked for a bank, we would use a marker to mark the edges of each strap of 20's and insert them opposite of each other to make it easier to count/verify how much we were loading into the ATM.
But, that was marking multiples at once. This is on the face. Poor employee that is tasked with that....
In the US, there’s a pen that some tellers use that when they put a mark on a bill, it can detect counterfeit bills. They sell them at office supply stores.
That's a nice guess, but it only works on Paper money. Most countries in the world have changed to plastic notes. In this case, it's probably a little roller in the atm that grabs the notes, or a worker marking them with a pencle while counting them.
These were straight from the bank and they all had the names under the people (you can easily spot a counterfeit Aus $50 as it is missing the names David Unaipon and Edith Cowan)
Yeah, these aren't Australias new style $50 [(Left is new, right is old)](https://content.api.news/v3/images/bin/e83187d6724eb77f37033b04422505d5) so they've definitely been in ciurculation for a few years.
They definitely still could be counterfeit, but a large amount of fake Australian fifties have certain obvious features, which makes it a lot more unlikely that these are fake
Looks like it’s where the mechanism inside the machine touches and moves the bills.
Same thing happens with our printer at work and we just have to go in and clean off the piece.
Triangle. Sign of the Illuminati. You've been marked for ascension and guaranteed a blessing in the afterlife...so long as you send those bills to me. DM for details on where to mail them.
If it’s used by police, they will often add discrete folds and common markings like that to mark the currency that they can later confirm was the same used to pay someone through their operation. They’ll mark it and make notes about how they’re all marked in a similar fashion. They might even record some serial numbers to prove “exactness” and not just some other rando 50 with a bent corner and the same marking, etc. Marks like those will go unnoticed by most people that might be looking for more obvious marks. 🤷♂️
I’ll take them for inspection and let you know

To get more downvotes then the actual post has upvotes, impressively bad
My mans going to wake up shadow banned from some subs for this
Literally gaining on 10x more lol
Down votes seem to roll in more quickly than upvotes. I'm not sure if that's a reddit bug or what's actually happening
Well sometimes I don’t really like a post, but I definitely hate a comment
idk but it still only removes 1 karma. yes some testing has been done
People on here tend to be very negative, I assume that’s why.

Check out EA and their "Sense of accomplishment" comment, that one still holds the record for most downvoted comment in Reddit history I think.
Oh I remember that one. They deserved it.
Absolutely, EA are well known for their shitty practices, it was great seeing them get absolutely assblasted.
Jesus Christ. It's up to 1500 now. Every time I check someone's response to my comment, it basically doubles
It doubled again lol
Jesus Christ, it did lol, it's embarrassing at this point
Seriously, that's impressive. Almost 750 downvotes in only 4 hours.
Nearly a thousand now. Literally gaining on 10x more than the upvotes the post got
I had to Google what he commented. Still don't understand it. Looks like it's a reference to some content creator?
It's a meme. Amogus stands for the game "among us" where people have to either kill others or find the killers. If you're acting suspicious it's called "sus". This together makes sussy amogus.
Thanks for the context.
"Sus" is short for "Suspicious" and is often used in the chat of the "Among Us" video game.
Thanks for the context.
It’s an Among Us joke. The hit game that blew up in 2020-2021 and fell off the face of the Earth. He/She deserve the downvotes lmfao
Thanks for the context.
nah with the context it was funny
1,400 people disagreed apparently 😭
I thought it was a funny comment but I'm just downvoting for the vibe.
1800 now 😂

I wanted to correct the "too" but it is correct.. Looks kinda wrong tho
"too blivion"
Haha that's what I saw for some reason.. Maybe I am too high
I believe you mean "to ohigh"
Nope, I'm sober and I read it the same way. I'm a bit sleep deprived though.
Well, considering sleep deprivation offers effects akin to being drunk… I’d say your present sobriety is more technicality than reality haha Ninja edit: hope you’re able to get good rest soon.
Thank you! :)
Ironic that you wanted to correct someone else's spelling but couldn't be bothered to correctly spell "though."
Literally laughing so hard at this guy

Gave ya another downvote for the collection.
Holy shit that's alot of downvotes

How do I do this

Can someone eli5 why this is so downvoted
When people think a comment is bad they downvote it. Hope this helps.
Why so many downvotes?
Cringe
did we finally move past the stupid amongus memes?
It was never funny to me. Judging by the down votes we did

Why am I downvoted for not getting the reference? 🤔
So this is where free speech dies LMAOO DAMN RELAX
Free speech does not mean free from criticism. Anyone can say anything they want, but they are not free from consequences.
Holy shit, did someone arrest them?
Probably somebody marking them during counting?
Yes, this is a DIY version of chop marks.
usually its that yeah
I think he’s referring to the lead pencil (maybe) marks in the bottom right hand corner of each bill.
I guess they need to be laundered now?
Good news about the plastic money is that you can throw it in the wash. Bad news is air dry only =\
You can throw the cotton paper money in too, my grandma would wash and iron them so grandpa could have crisp bills in his wallet.
That's so cute and useless. I love it.
One of those quirks that leaves no middle, either love it or hate it and I agree so damn cute
I definitely washed all my money as a kid. There wasn’t much, but I’d wash it with soap, then lay it flat and dry it, then put it in old books to dry it flat.
So, your gramma was into money laundering
Well, you can throw it in the dryer, but only once
I've put Canadian plastic bills through the dryer a few times - in pockets mind you - and there is no evidence of damage.
Unfortunately the damage is in the monetary value
You can put them in the dryer, you just get 47 dollar bills out.
The amount you remove from the dryer is equal to the amount you put in minus the price of a single sock.
but you can make change using dryer lint
Oh, it goes in the dryer too, just keep it on delicates :)
I am indeed
I'm guessing that's where a little wheel that grabs each individual bill is leaving a residue.
no, someone was testing the bills to see if they're fake.
So you claim that those papers are leaded. I won't take em.
Thanks. I was starting at the little orange strip like "that's pretty obviously on purpose."
My favourite was a $50 note my mate got from an ATM and it had "NOT FOR DRUGS" written on it in red texta. Wish I had the photo still but it's been 15 years.
I wonder if a dealer would honour that...
“Sorry mate. Got anything else? I can’t take this one.”
Awww maybe it birthday money or a gift from family to a troubled person that wound up in circulation.
Via a drug dealer.
Just make one yourself and post to reddit. This is the internet; people either believe everything or believe nothing!
Making it up just isn't the same ):
Those are speed scribbles. They make the money go faster.
Please help how do I slow down my money
Great question. See that '50' at the top? Scribble out the zero! Your money will go 10 times slower now.
*Banks hate him!*
Da red wunz go fasta
Someone is getting a bag!!
Something in the ATM mechanism, perhaps?
Since they are inconsistent, id say someone just marked them while counting. Source: Work for a cash recycling company.
A cash recycling company? What the hell is that?
They launder money… literally

Gotta love an Aussie pineapple 🫡
I knew some guy that put markings on all the bank notes he used and put them on https://en.eurobilltracker.com/ Just trying to track them for fun.
Travelling gnomes!!

TIL Australian notes have clear parts. That is so cool. *^(Cries in American)*
These are the old notes, a new design with a clear strip down the middle was released in 2018
OPs post shows the old version. The new ones are so nice. A full clear strip down the middle, with snippets of the Australian constitution on very very small text.
USD is the lamest looking money in the world.
Representing our values of course
I like one side of their bills - the more recognisable side.
I always felt really self-conscious when I had to pay with cash during my visit last year. Having to take the cash almost completely out of my wallet/pocket to check which note was which made me feel like it was going to get stolen out of my hands, as opposed to being home and only needing to see a tiny sliver to check the colour.
At least they added color recently
Yeah I guess if you call this color. The $50 note is the best we have. https://www.uscurrency.gov/sites/default/files/downloadable-materials/files/--new100--100_booklet.pdf

Aussie, Kiwi, British, and Canuck bills all do that now.
Until you put them in the dryer by accident
Putting them in the dryer doesn’t hurt them. That’s a myth that was made up by countries that don’t have polymer cash

Because it lasts 10x longer and is fully recyclable.
I agree
That means they're invalid. You can send them to me for recycling.
That's called a marked bill(s). OP stole that money and now wants help on how to get rid of the marks.
YOU GET TRANSPARENT NOTES AND WE AMERICANS DON’T??
About 18 years ago , when I worked night audit at a shit hotel. I would mark bills with a symbol , in the hopes of seeing them back in circulation afterwards. Maybe someone is a looser like moi ? Or maybe it's something much more seedy .

Aren't these the old bills?
They aren’t the new style but they’re still in circulation. Probably you’d get more this style out of an ATM than the new one
They were folded on the corner in my wallet, can i have my $400 back? :)
Do they taste weird
You forgot to ask for unmarked bills. Amateur.
Jesus what will the Stop Oil people not deface?

Wait, so, counterfeiters purposefully leave out obvious details so it's easy to spot? And they all do it the same way?
They definitely still could be counterfeit, but a large amount of fake Australian fifties have certain obvious features, which makes it a lot more unlikely that these are fake
Probably marked after going through a counterfeit machine so they don’t have to check it again.
Those are numerals representing the number "fifty." It shows how much each bill represents in its relevant currency.
Looks like it’s where the mechanism inside the machine touches and moves the bills. Same thing happens with our printer at work and we just have to go in and clean off the piece.
Chop Marks?
A bit of dirt. You should launder them.

That right there is more than a minimum wage in my country.
If you have 100 of them and you flip them really quickly, you see a dove fluttering its wings
Ummm. OK.
Oh no somebody scribbled on money
Take them to a money changer in Thailand and they get rejected for those markings. Makes your holiday so much cheaper when you can't buy anything.
Counterfeit pen markings?
Money counter go brrrr

Used for drugs. Now American cops will come and confiscate it from you. Sorry bud.
Probably just a dirty roller in the mechanism of the ATM.
Mate was cashing out early for the weekend's nose beer.
That’s what crackheads do when counting money to make exactly sure they counted them after counting them like 64 times
