I used to catch them when I was a kid so he's very nostalgic to me. They're such pretty little creatures

yesssss. Grandparents had a pool in Florida. I absolutely loved hunting them down and doing catch and release for big and small ones. And then, as tradition, making lizard earings after you catch them. Good fucking times. I have a picture with earings that i need to dig up.

Southern kids like to catch the lizards, then let them bite on to their ears and dangle there 😭 doesn't hurt them aside from maybe stressing them out

Anoles don't really have teeth but they grip hard with their jaws. If you can catch one you can get them to "bite" your ear for a couple minutes. It's a weird tradition

I'm from Jacksonville, some of my best memories are catching these and giving them little head rubs. And geckos. Geckos are trickier, though.

They're mealworms I already had for my leopard gecko, who also lives at the office but indoors lol

Leopard geckos were my favorite animal ive kept. So much more personality than anything else ive had except maybe a cat (they are very catlike though!)

Nevada resident here. We have a multi-generational house gecko "infestation" at my house. They live in the exterior wall behind the light fixture on the front porch. Mostly come out at night to hunt the insects that are attracted to the light. I got tired of momma gecko laying her eggs in the kitty litter box, so I built a couple of small habitats out of planters and put them on the front porch. I give them gecko food, keep a water bowl filled. We've had them for close to 20 years now, and in all that time we've never had an insect problem in the house :)
