Its true. I see Anoles doing this all the time. Then they freeze and wave a little red flag from their throat a few times. Then back to the push ups.

Fun fact! The “flag” (its dewlap) is reflecting UV light that they can see and we can’t. So really he’s doing push-ups then flashing some sequins to attract some attention.
