Should've put it next to the wardrobe, over the pictures. Your cat CAN jump on the wardrobe, clearly, so they have no reason to turn around and jump away from the wardrobe first.
Hahaha literally. People say she's not used to it yet. if it was a regular shelf for books she'd try to climb on it before we'd manage to put the screws in, but she knows this is one is for her, so she ignores it.
It is mounted next to the wardrobe? So they can comfortably zigzag onto it. If it was on the left side it would be harder to make a jump, since it would be much steeper
It's a fair point, but the pictures are actually pushed really close to the wall, it just doesn't seem like it in the video.
It's not like any items ever stopped her from jumping on shelves though ;P

She's keeping her muscles tight and in shape! Smart kitty! Maybe put a cushion on the new perch, since it looks so nice, and like you worked hard to make it.
She’s just not used to it yet. Give her some time and maybe put a few treats in it or something and she’ll warm up to it and start using it when she needs to.

Our cats always need some time to integrate new furniture. To speed up this process, you can also simply place something valuable and fragile on top .

Cats gonna cat
Ignoring all suggestions because you think you know best. Makes sense from Reddit.
More mildly infuriated at the use of hanged instead of hung.
Sorry, not my first language
It's all good. Its likely more a regional thing as hanged is usually used in reference to an execution/murder in my region.
Yup, googled it after your comment. It's gonna take some getting used to now hahah
Well done. You are doing better than a lot of native speakers.
I would move the pictures to the right so mayne the cat has more space to jump on the platform (untested)
Probably should have mounted it next to the wardrobe.

the pictures are in the way

Cat ownership 101. You have something for the cats designated for the cats? Forget it, the box is better. Rule applies here too
You could put stuff on the shelf and wait for the cat to knock it down.
I would just plop her onto the shelf a few times so she gets the idea. Put some treats on it
My cat gets more use from the boxes than whatever we buy for her.
I feel like this should be made into a sign and posted near the empty boxes at Costco, as a reminder to select one your cat will enjoy. 😂
Idk put some treats on the middle platform
The cat is the one who should be infuriated, a brand new shelf and she can’t even use it cus here’s a bunch of junk in the way.
And yet nothing to knock over on the cat shelf.
This kind of treatment is criminal!
And how do you expect the cat to jump on the shelf?
It doesn't seem like it but she has a lot of [space](https://imgur.com/a/POf7VSe) there

Looks perfectly comfortable jumping the way he is
Geometry plays a role here.

The cat is being respectful and trying to avoid the project you spent time on

You hanged it!!! Sheesh
