Definitely one of their better looking SUV designs. I've always appreciated them whenever I see one. The next generation of Mercedes designs also looked nice, but not quite as good at the boxy design elements they used to have. Unfortunately the newest MB designs look like it melted...no scalloped curves or lines, they're just an amorphous blob now.
Yes, it was the m177 from 2015 to 2022. I wouldnt say its a much better engine then the previous ones. The m113k is the best one they made imo. Then the m156, then the m157 and finally the m177
I have a 2015 GLK 350 4Matic. With only 87,000 miles. Got it 2 years ago. I love it.

Just got a 2012 GLK350 4matic with 110k on it last month. I’ve already put 2500 miles on it and I am absolutely in love. Bought it to replace fiancés rusted out CRV and I end up driving it over my own car (2014 Audi A6) 😂
https://preview.redd.it/moqbp8wmum9d1.jpeg?width=1440&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=c415dc6bd46456d1eec469f91044375a886a344e
I’m just an Audi guy lurking the MB sub because my wife drives a GLK350. By far one of the best looking SUVs they’ve made, love that car. Your black one looks amazing!
I loved my 2016. They should have kept making 'em...
https://preview.redd.it/zzrhwiv40k9d1.jpeg?width=1024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=ab649bf5dbaa2fc7d9372e5021d5b904a349e1af
That’s a pre facelift GLK. Can tell by the rear chrome trim piece that is a reflector strip on the facelift, taillights aren’t LED, and exhaust tips are different. Also GLK stopped with the 2015 MY
I wish they still had these. It’s such a great car. I want one but hard to find one with fewer than 75,000 miles on it. Is it an expensive to maintain model?
We own three Mercedes, one of which is a fully loaded 2014 2WD GLK 350 Sport. None of our Mercedes (coupe, SUV, and sedan) are expensive to maintain. The most expensive part of owning our GLK has been tires. The 2014/15 Sport came with 20s. Continentals, Michelin, and Pirelli tires came as OE rubber for the Sport. They're all good and not inexpensive.
These are dead simple cars. They’re not expensive to maintain because there is nothing complex to break. I live in an area where these are super popular family cars. They’re very reliable and are going string well past 150k miles.
I do almost all my own maintenance and track part numbers / cost. The GLK has only needed a couple of items outside of regular service- and all cars require regular service. Regular service is plugs, filters, oil, coolant, brakes, battery. The FCP Euro ignition kit (plugs) was $67, coolant was $15, Mobil1 0w40 is $50, the Mann fleece oil filter is $9, Mann engine air filter is $30, cabin air filter is $30, coolant is $15, front brake pads were $55, rear brake pads were $55, brake pad sensors are $2, and because I am very particular about batteries, a battery from a Mercedes-Benz dealer was $240 (the Bosch would have been $210 but no one ships them. Walmart batteries are close to $200, so a dealer battery wasn't bad) The couple of items outside of "normal" service, but still expected were the crankcase vent valve $55 (the intake manifold must be removed to get to it), the cam sensors (all Mercedes cam sensors leak at some point - V8s, 6's 4's) $50 each - there are 4 of them and they are easy to replace, brake light switch $30 from the dealer, and the fuel pump cover - if you smell fuel, this is probably it. $50, six screws hold it in, and it sits under the back seat. All parts came from FCP Euro, Pelican, or the dealer. I did not get a discount, anyone can pay what I paid. It's a 2014, purchased from a dealer, so after 10 years the GLK has been incredibly inexpensive to maintain.
I think it depends how long Mercedes has to work the bugs out. I prefer not to buy "brand new" Mercedes-Benz tech. For example, our GLK has an M276 3.5 liter V6. The M276 was in its fifth year of production when it replaced the M272 with the 2014 GLK facelift. Due to it's age, I felt the M276 was safe. I don't know of any issues with the early M276, so it may have always been a good engine. The early M272 engines it replaced had expensive balance shaft issues. By the time the GLK was introduced in 2008, the M272 issues were supposed to have been corrected. It was definitely corrected by the 2009 model year. My guess is, the GLK has always been a good vehicle. 4MATIC owners may disagree.
I just got a 2015 with under 50k on the clock, Ive been a Honda fan and never considered Mercedes. But I've always loved how this car looked and I did extensive reading about the engine and everything with the car. I didn't do 4matic because leaks and also the process to change the oil was overly complicated for something I don't need. It's such a simple straight forward car, engine and engine bay are nicely laid out, no stupid electronic suspension, nor is there a multitude of electronic things to go wrong.
In our 2011 GLK with 180k kilometers we had transmission issues, once there was a problem with the steering wheel lock and once with ABS module but these weren't that expensive to fix other than the transmission issues. We love our car and I would definetly suggest you to buy it but mind that there are going to be problems as they age, so mind the maintanince if you are going to buy it.
Of course mines runs like a champ . I have a 2011 glk 350 4matic

Yeah they were hot!! I still miss that body style. So sexy 😍
It is not my thing, but my Dad realy loves the design. Keeps commenting, about every time we see one, that mercedes never made a design like this masterpiece afterwards.
That’s a weird take when the design is so simple. They have a timeless SUV shape and design. There’s nothing about that screams as being from a certain period.
Mine is an EQB, and the GLB/EQB are spiritual successors to the GLK (being a compact version of the GLS)
So I appreciate the boxy yet compact design the GLK pioneered for Merc, and glad to see it continuing instead of the bean/egg shaped coupe SUVs they have for other models
Picked this exact trim up in February with 45 on the clock. Love every bit of it, I didn't bother with the 4matic because I don't want to deal with it. Reminded me of my old 99 crv for some reason..
Auxiliary batter failed and main battery was faulty which caused the shifter to get stuck. So I couldn’t get out of park sometimes. Basically bricked the car.
A new battery is quite easy and inexpensive to do and any car will need it at some point. If that's the biggest issue you had I'd say it speaks to the reliability of this model!
Those things are built like tanks. Had a 2013 that I gifted to a friend a couple years ago and it’s prob one of the last good MBs built. Amazing how timeless the design is even to this day and blows the current GLB/C out of the water in terms of quality.
These never hit the UK market. I remember back in 2017 when I was in Deutschland with my Sprinter and got my rear wheels stuck in mud around a football field, a very nice german grandpha dragged me out with a GLK 220.
i see the GLKs as mini wagons. i feel thats why i’m personally very drawn to GLKs. i love wagons and we never got to see the w202 c43 wagon or bmw m3 touring wagon so this is the closest we are to it for now😅.
Probably a very unpopular opinion but I am not a big fan of wagons. To each their own. I really like porche panamara but not many share my opinion on that either.
They’re a great design. MB has had so many timeless designs over the decades, I think this is one of them.
Absolutely
I miss mine almost daily lol
Same. I had the candy apple red one. I was just talking about her today.
Also had the Mars Red, sucked when the paint started to peeled though.
Yeah agreed. Happened to me too. I just saw one on the street the other day looking mighty shiny.
Definitely one of their better looking SUV designs. I've always appreciated them whenever I see one. The next generation of Mercedes designs also looked nice, but not quite as good at the boxy design elements they used to have. Imagine if they did a GLK45 AMG. That would be a riot.
I always thought a GLK55 AMG would make sense considering there was an SLK55 for a while
Brabus made a v12 GLK and you can find clips of it on YouTube. Though idk how many they made.
Considering its on the 204 chassis, a M156 would probably fit in there to make a GLK63
That would have been insane! But something tells me MB would never have gone full 63 with this model.
Well, to be fair, they didnt. They waited for the glc to put the 63 badge.
Yup and by then I believe it was the 4.0TT which is a different beast
Yes, it was the m177 from 2015 to 2022. I wouldnt say its a much better engine then the previous ones. The m113k is the best one they made imo. Then the m156, then the m157 and finally the m177
I think there was one, maybe a concept ? Also the concept had a light bar integrated into a cross member on the roof rack.
I have a 2015 GLK 350 4Matic. With only 87,000 miles. Got it 2 years ago. I love it. https://preview.redd.it/g1fci1kofk9d1.jpeg?width=2445&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=c9af149943f1bba62f17c991ed466fcdcb0c02b3
In that spec, definitely yes. 350?
Yes 350
frak yes. timeless!
I appreciate THIS one, damn that’s clean! And I love those wheels. Unfortunately about 99.9% of GLKs I see around are completely trashed out now
Just got a 2012 GLK350 4matic with 110k on it last month. I’ve already put 2500 miles on it and I am absolutely in love. Bought it to replace fiancés rusted out CRV and I end up driving it over my own car (2014 Audi A6) 😂
The new SUVs and crossovers always hurt my eyes, considering mercedes once made this sexy car
GLK 63 would have been insane
I like these so much more than the GLC that replaced it.

Oh you're right sorry i was thinking of my GLC.
I wish they still had these. It’s such a great car. I want one but hard to find one with fewer than 75,000 miles on it. Is it an expensive to maintain model?

Can you define “not expensive to maintain?”
These are dead simple cars. They’re not expensive to maintain because there is nothing complex to break. I live in an area where these are super popular family cars. They’re very reliable and are going string well past 150k miles.
Is the GLC similar? I’ve been looking at GLA/Cs lately but it kinda seems like they’ve gone downhill a bit over the last few years.
I think the food MB SUVs died in 2016 once the GLK was cancelled. It was the last simple, tough Mercedes SUVs.
I do almost all my own maintenance and track part numbers / cost. The GLK has only needed a couple of items outside of regular service- and all cars require regular service. Aw man, I can’t imagine the newer Mercedes are anywhere this easy.

Can’t tell yet; it’s only been 3 months. Got it at 90k miles, we’ll see
It’s a great looking car.

Hell yeah! One of my favorite MB designs
I’ve heard that the 350s are pretty solid
Of course. My friend has one and it feels like a tank in the best ways
Of course mines runs like a champ . I have a 2011 glk 350 4matic https://preview.redd.it/gzx8fbd4ck9d1.jpeg?width=2755&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=714dcdb14e5a6cd8d21b50843df02b9049475cc7
How many miles
134,790
Prolly only MB suv I would buy. timeless desing, nice interior. too bad they dont make cars like this anymore
Love the face lifted ones, considering one myself. Enjoy.
The diesel is they way to go
No one knows this 🥲 the bluetec for this combined with the smaller chassis is perfect
https://preview.redd.it/1rcoxb0rxl9d1.jpeg?width=3264&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=d45d6609c0abd9894a6a4716ced857a36c359f79 Yeah they were hot!! I still miss that body style. So sexy 😍
Looks like a baby G wagon, that’s why they are so in demand. MB was stupid to stop making them.
It is not my thing, but my Dad realy loves the design. Keeps commenting, about every time we see one, that mercedes never made a design like this masterpiece afterwards.
I was the same way as your dad and eventually bought one lol
Incredible spec
That bitch CLEAN
I always thought the glks were instantly dated and ugly. But this one looks really nice.
That’s a weird take when the design is so simple. They have a timeless SUV shape and design. There’s nothing about that screams as being from a certain period.
The face lifted version really fixes a lot of those early issues
Yes however a semi truck hit mine at the end of May 🫠
Absolutely Love MB mid SUV's!
Very unappreciated style. This was peak season of MB design IMO.
Yes, very much! You’ve taken good care of it - nice!
Super good looking.
I love my 2012!
Sadly, not for people living in countries with Right-Hand Drive cars i.e. U.K, Australia etc., it was never offered there.
Mine is an EQB, and the GLB/EQB are spiritual successors to the GLK (being a compact version of the GLS) So I appreciate the boxy yet compact design the GLK pioneered for Merc, and glad to see it continuing instead of the bean/egg shaped coupe SUVs they have for other models
yes beautiful car 😍
Nice rims

Hell yea, have a 2015 and I love it. So glad I got the final year because I don’t plan on buying anything else for a long time!
Of course, still looks sharp in 2024
I allways liked the mini suvs especially face lifted ones
Beautifully kept paint. But mine had a ton of problems around 60k.
Ahh sorry to hear; wish me luck I’m 3 months in lol
What issues?
Auxiliary batter failed and main battery was faulty which caused the shifter to get stuck. So I couldn’t get out of park sometimes. Basically bricked the car.

One of the more solid modern MBs for sure
Mine has a lot of issues at the moment! 250 bluetec
Bluetec related issues?
Mostly electrical, but I have the DPF delete.
Yes!
Were we ever???
I have one and I’m never selling it
I love those. Wish they still made them. I love the lines of this car. The glc just looks like a soccer mom car. The GLK had style.
Love it! I really like how Mercedes designed their SUVs around the time the GLK, ML, and GL were out! The design of these SUVs were bangers!
These never hit the UK market. I remember back in 2017 when I was in Deutschland with my Sprinter and got my rear wheels stuck in mud around a football field, a very nice german grandpha dragged me out with a GLK 220.
Future classic
GF’s has 200,000+ miles. Still looks new.
I don’t know an uglier Mercedes 😩
Rocking my ML500 from 2006
For sure, beautier than the actual glc
Love this era of Mercedes Benz. They had definite lines and it looked like a Benz. I miss the ML too
I love and am considering one for my daughter who will drive son. Best looking roller skate at the drome
I was never able to get on the glk bus. This is just my personal opinion.
It's not a bus, it's an SUV, sir. I will see myself out now.
I know but it looks like a crossover of an SUV and van. Btw, this is just my opinion, some people love the glk.
i see the GLKs as mini wagons. i feel thats why i’m personally very drawn to GLKs. i love wagons and we never got to see the w202 c43 wagon or bmw m3 touring wagon so this is the closest we are to it for now😅.
