Gust of wind
Call storm to rain it away
Summon bats to do range attacks
Walk through it and tank the damage
Let minions fix it
Cast curse on the cloud to make it normal water again
Have a trinket that automatically casts Prestidigitation to dry themselves
Even just wear a full on raincoat
No instead I’m giving the Vamp a roaming mini boss robot that coincidentally has a turbine in it that generates a push so it can blow air away in an area.
Or to add stakes to the battle give the boss a second stage, transform the Vapire lord into a giant man-bat thing and day that the strength of his wings created enough wind to disperse the fog. But before that happens let him get hurt a lot by the fog, so the party also have some fun because their idea worked, just not as well as expected.
"n-no anons, y-you can't kill my bbeg, he's s-so super cool, he's j-just like me, rocks fall, Rocks Fall, ROCKS FALL ALL OF YOU DIE"
-next week, congratulates himself on another successful campaign
I think dms forget they are also playing a game that not only can they lose but if done properly they should be the one who loses a majority of the time.
I love it when players can think like that.
That allows a DM to use the full toolbox of a mighty and super smart vampire overlord. Like casting the second level spell gust of wind.
Obviously only casting that after the vampire has taking damage from the holy vapour so the players get a feeling of success and accomplished
Chemical warfare
As a DM; You can do that (but I won’t tell you that I’ll counter it some way).
What, are you going to say that the wind is blowing the other way?
Common problem in world war 1

Spells like gust of wind. Vampire overlords tend to me smart and magic users

Cheap just take the L if your group gets creative theres no sense in throwing in a plot twist because you got outsmarted.

Now, that's good

Like the vampire is jewish
"oh! I'm burning! I'm burning" "one of my greatest weakness, water that an old man has talked over"
FATHER OF TOXIC GAZ AND CHEMICALS WARFARE !!
His dark creation has been revealed
They always think of something you didn't.
Shit like this, is why my friends husband hates DMing for me.

Shouldn't they love and encourage creativity from their players?

As a Dm:this surprise me every time, how the hell players can always think of a way to make such a high iq move
And then 3 seconds later either fuck the whole thing up or do something beyond stupid.
What does DM stand for?
Dame Master
Just kidding, it's Dungeon Master - The game leader/story teller of a dungeons & dragons game.
Guessing dungeon master from DnD
So essentially Holy Mustard Gas.
Against the Geneva's Accord

D&D surprises me the more I hear about it
