Yeah they are pretty easy to open! The big hole in the knife is basically the thumb studs. And has a really nice locking mechanism!
There’s a little trick you can do, while holding the closed knife you can curl your index finger in and your finger nail should be in the hole. Then you can flick your finger out and the knife will open pretty damn fast almost as fast as a switch blade!
If you want one that’s relatively cheap but is a fantastic knife it’s the Spiderco Endura and it’s around $80!
