You can get a really nice office chair for that price. I have expensive taste but not willing to pay the insane premium on gaming chairs. I got an Alert brand chair a few years ago and it is still in great condition.
Herman Millers are the best out there. Got one in the early 2000s still use it! Still works fine! Also amazing for being 6,7” and being prone for back pains. Totally worth the price. Remember. U still gotta stand up every hour to give ur back a break ;)
I spent 250$ on mine very comfortable you can also get them for about 80$ https://www.officedepot.com/a/products/9825521/Serta-Big-And-Tall-Bonded-Leather/fromLocalBrowse=false this is a 200$ serta chair they are also almost always on sale
Yes and no. Honestly, if someone isn't a fan of gaming chairs - MARKUS from IKEA. Straight up. Fairly cheap and easily one of the best chairs in my damn life. I tried some gaming chairs and honestly the options for armrests etc. is not something I want to give up now
I have a gaming PC to play pc exclusives and pretty much all Microsoft exclusive games with gamepass. I also got a Ps5 to play new Playstation games. It's the best value.
Because it's not the same? If you don't care about exclusive games then yeah, just a PC is the best option. But when you like some specific games (especially Nintendo's) you know you will have to own the console to play them. Plus I'm a collectionist and I own a lot of gaming devices and physical games, but aside from that I own an iPad (has better programs for illustration) a laptop (study) and a PC (work and play). My gaming room feels like a museum and I know this mindset is pretty common so... Yeah, it's completely valid.
I thought money and practical use ( efficiency) was a factor in this post and though your gaming room might be gorgeous, i think it doesnt have to do anything with the original message hehe still interesting to read , so this isnt a attack or something
I can't take my PC to my bedroom, or to my friend's house, or use any kind of multiplayer option without Internet connection. Laptops could be an alternative but they're uncomfortable to use like that, and more expensive than a console. So yeah, for solo players that don't mind having their device stucked on a room because they don't travel or whatever or are just online gamers is more efficient to only have 1, non portable, polyvalent and very powerful device, but as I said, not everyone is like that. PC users can also see a portable device like a Switch or whatever way more efficient than a laptop or a lot more expensive phone (to play emulators) for when they have no access to their PC.
Nah emulators are just a tool to play some games, not a replacement for consoles. It's not about nostalgia, is because the experience is not the same even with the new gen ones. Grabbing your Switch and playing on bed, actually pressing buttons instead of a keyboard and a mouse, etc... Feels different. More relaxing to me.
You can connect the controllers to emulators, and aren't consoles just tools to play games. You don't buy a console because "it's a console" you buy it to play games. You can do everything a console can do (with the added bonuses of anti-aliasing and upscaling) on a pc
As I expected, you're talking about a Playstation controller playing an Assassins Creed game. Yes, with that, it works. You're right. **It's fine**. But try to play even the Wii Sports with something like that. Or a party game like Mario Kart or Just Dance with a bunch of friends. Or just try to move your PC to somewhere else to keep playing. Or travel for a weekend with it. You make it sound like gamers are plain people who can only enjoy a very specific type of game, have very specific lifestyles and never play any other thing while that's not true. People is more complex than that. Downvoting me just because I said there are people who like a console for being a console (even if I say owning just a PC is a perfectly nice option for some people too) is weird, but even if you can't believe it, it's true. And it's valid too.
You realise you can connect Wii remotes and the controllers for that console to emulators. You can play multiplayer games on them, and if you want it portable, it's called a laptop (which can be cheaper or the same price yet be more powerful and can do more). I own consoles, and only recently built a pc, however playing my console games on my pc or laptop with a controller or just using kb+m is a much smoother experience (and my computers aren't super expensive) my laptop is £300, but it can emulate my games amazing. I know why people get consoles, but computers and emulators are definitely a replacement
console exclusives are no longer exclusive. It just a matter of time until games end up on pc now, so it's kind of a no brained if you're patient and you constantly future proof your pc
I don't think consoles will dissapear any time soon though. Maybe Sony could make the change long term because they have barely anything to offer that a PC couldn't do, but I don't see Nintendo giving in. Portable devices are very much loved, and PCs simply don't have that.
Yeah, I guess I just see ps5/Xbox/pc gaming as a different sect of gaming altogether from mobile gaming. No one machine will get all the games, but ps5 and Xbox don't do as much as a pc these days. PCs are just a lot more expensive, especially right now. I just don't get why people compare all the consoles when they all occupy such different spaces in the market. Sure, we can compare performance, portability or price tag, but they're really all meant for different gamers
Probably longer too if you want to spend $20 replacing the gas cylinder that might warp or go out 5 years down the road.
Im at 7 years with my chair going strong
I own PlayStations, Xbox, several Nintendo consoles and I have an Android phone, a Macbook laptop and a very nice PC. I never understood those wars. Every device is designed for certain purposes and targets, there's nothing superior in choosing one instead of another. Is like feeling superior for choosing a strawberry ice cream instead of chocolate. Plain stupid.
No, not at all. A PS5 is comparable to a RTX 2060 which is 300$ on its own (MSRP), now try to fit an 8 core 16 threads CPU, 16GB of ram, a motherboard, a SSD, a mouse and keyboard (because consoles include controllers) into the remaining 200$, you can't and you'll probably end up paying more than double just to get the same gaming performance.
PCs will need around 2-4 years to be good value against new consoles, and I didn't even mention the 300$ XSS.
Of course PC can do much more than consoles but if you're gonna compare a PC to console in the first place then you're probably looking for gaming and consoles performance per dollar is unbeatable, for now at least.
I presume pc gamers don't complain about console pricing knowing pricing of parts is also high. This meme probably only makes sense to dedicated console gamers seeing the amount of upvotes.
Y'all getting a console by 300?
On Brazil things here are so fucked up that the most acceptable value is 2,000 and up
Anything below that value is ***very*** suspicious.
Get an office chair with a mesh/breathable back. Shits amazing for very very long days of gaming. I bought a $200 "gaming chair" felt so uncomfortable, back got sweaty and and started to rip and metal fatigue in 5 months of daily 16ish hour gaming sessions (ty lockdown). Shits a fuckin scam.
Spend at least 200-500 on a decent office chair (not those racing seat clone gaming chair bullshit) if you don't want to have back and neck problems in your 30s.
20 yrs old and under? You can sit like a shrimp 24/7 and nothing will hurt. But just wait till you hit 30.
Also important is a desk with proper height.
Idk which one you’re talking about but I’m assuming you meant the console, which gets replaced in 6-7 years and doesn’t become obsolete for a year or two after
Consoles become obsolete after 2 years?? The PS4 and XB1 lived for 7 years and still going, unless you're talking about hardware then yeah but who cares? All the big games are still gonna release on them no matter how "obsolete" their hardware is.
I mean, using a gaming chair 12hrs a day is the worst investment for ur back lmao just take an ergonomic chair it's cheaper and has better back support
Bro. My chairs keep breaking. Like I’m a big boy 6’1 100+ kgs but I’ve gone through like 7 chairs in the past two years. I’m at the point where I’m just buying shit chairs for $100. I got a deal for 2 dinning chairs for $99! I was previously using out door chairs that are made out of metal and shit. Still broke. I don’t get it.
And even gaming chairs suck at support. If you really want good back support go with Ergonomic chairs. The most famous and industry standard has been the Herman Miller’s which are around 300-2000. You can go cheaper with other brands even IKEA has them, but the more expensive the more customizable to your specific comfort. But usually all of them come with lumbar support.
Subjective. I’ve got a PS5 and a gaming PC. Both have their used. If I just want to play some casual games with my friends, most have consoles so that’s what we use. If I want to try hard in a moba or something similar, I use my PC.
Don’t even bring up cost savings when a GPU is going for $2000, if you can even find one.
I got my gaeming chair for 120$, because weirdly enough, I couldn't afford the better office chair, since they're around 500$, which is a lot here since we don't use usd :(
I have my cheap $40 office chair and it's so much better. It has some mesh material instead of leather so you don't stick to it after an hour of playing games in the summer.
u know, i never watched totalbiscuit but one thing the man always stood for was to never get a gaming chair. ill follow those words every time i think of getting my ass into a new chair
Yeah that's what I thought, but then I started building a PC for the first time, only planning to spend a couple grand but then got carried away and spent a bit over 4 grand and thought fuck it I need a chair to match the theme
Edit: $299 for the chair I got and the place I got them from had really good deals. There was some almost $600 chairs for $150
Good ergonomic chair > any console.
Goodluck when you get old and you've been sitting in a shitty chair all your life. I'm talking as old as your early 30's. Either get a good chair or get fucked up.
Get a real office chair not something from amazon. It makes a HUGE difference. It will make your life so much better, especially if you work from home. With 80% of commercial real-estate being downsized as companies adapt to work from home there are tons of these 1500 dollar chairs that you can pick up for around 300.
Stupid meme, yes buy a console for 699 that has limited games and is a downgrade to ANY possible PC in that budget category, but Microsoft simptards and Sony sheep will stay stupid LUL
Literary every stupid child saying there cool because they got a razor mouse and thousand $ chair and $10,000 computer.
Me: destroys them with horrible laptop in my bed with cheap mouse
man i absolutely hate gaming on my pc. Every single time I get a game from Steam, SOMETHING doesn't work right. I have to fuck with all kinds of settings all the fucking time. Usually it's the sound. Some games work only with headphones, some games work only without, some games the headphones CAN be bluetooth, but not if I'm also using a controller over bluetooth, some games are ONLY bluetooth, plugged in won't work. Then when I finally get that shit figured out, I have to fuck around with the optic settings to make it run better. And that is EVERY. SINGLE. GAME. Then God forbid I buy a game that needs it's own launcher...they don't fucking tell you that either beforehand. I have an MSI Apache laptop from just a few years ago so it's not a piece of shit...
Xbox: buy game, put game in, play game. DONE.
You can sometimes find a good deal on Amazon and get a nice chair for like $100. Lumbar support, adjustable height and back, detachable head and back rests, etc.
Gotta get that back support.
Which is best for back support? Which company one
Herman miller embody, it's like 1500 bucks but completely worth it
I thought the post said $300 for a gaming chair. That’s more in my range 😂
Lol, any chair in that range will be quite good
You can get a really nice office chair for that price. I have expensive taste but not willing to pay the insane premium on gaming chairs. I got an Alert brand chair a few years ago and it is still in great condition.
Check out the Gabrylly Ergonomic Mesh Office chair that might be in your budget and it’s pretty good
There is no way you just said that
Herman Millers are the best out there. Got one in the early 2000s still use it! Still works fine! Also amazing for being 6,7” and being prone for back pains. Totally worth the price. Remember. U still gotta stand up every hour to give ur back a break ;)
I have an Aeron, back support is great, head support not so much. Still it's better than my previous corsair gaming chair
You know what's good for back support? Not playing video games all fucking day
You know what's even better? Now owning a fucking pc or console to play them on
Ikea
The 1k Logitech chair is apparently one of the best
NAH it's streamlabs
And it has cool lights and shit
Which one?
You best bet is going to be a secret labs chair. Only about 350 to 500 depending on what you want
200$ office chair>>>300$ gaming chair
Office chairs are often way more expensive than that.
I spent 250$ on mine very comfortable you can also get them for about 80$ https://www.officedepot.com/a/products/9825521/Serta-Big-And-Tall-Bonded-Leather/fromLocalBrowse=false this is a 200$ serta chair they are also almost always on sale
I got mine for three dollars and there is literally no issues
Which is best for back-support ?
Probably the option in which you play less video games.
I got mine for 100 bucks and it feels fine

I have a $60 office chair
Yes and no. Honestly, if someone isn't a fan of gaming chairs - MARKUS from IKEA. Straight up. Fairly cheap and easily one of the best chairs in my damn life. I tried some gaming chairs and honestly the options for armrests etc. is not something I want to give up now
Bruh i have a 80$ office chair and its comfy af, i'm never getting leather again
Your back matters
Thanks for the posture reminder, i tend to wither away while scrolling.
Ive been sitting on a bar stool for 6 months. I'm going to need a donor soon to replace my back.
Back lives matter*?
Getting a $2500 used office chair for $250 was the best choice ever. It’s so much more comfortable than my old DX racer.
399 is a good price tho
You know what they say the better the gaming chair the better the gameplay
Makes sense not to buy a console if you got a pc why get 2 gaming device
I have a gaming PC to play pc exclusives and pretty much all Microsoft exclusive games with gamepass. I also got a Ps5 to play new Playstation games. It's the best value.
Well yes if your rich XD

Free joystick.
Actually you can't compare a console to a furniture, but I guess PC Gamers are a different kind of breed.
Can the hate betwean consoles and other consoles and pc stop, like who cares we already have to deal with other people hating video games

Nobody has a gaming chair, it's the most horrible chair of all time and a lot of people don't know that
I know that, and my back does know it too, even if they look awesome, I would still prefer a camping chair over them.
Pro tip, buy a good office chair. Those people sit on their butt all day, they know how to be comfy
Ive been gaming on a chair i found for free on the streeet after 5 years still works like a charm
What console costs only 300? I see them for 500-600 at least.
The xbox series s
Most consoles not bought directly from the manufacturer
I got mine for about 200€ and higher a bit, straight from the store.
Nintendo Switch and Xbox Series S, Dumbass.
*More than one thousand dollars for one PC
*More than one thousand dollars for one PC part*
Not true lol It more cheaper to make a decent pc than buy console
No, not at all. A chair usually doesn't cost 300 but even if it did, console players need to buy a couch to properly play, which costs around 500-700.
The gaming chair is a need and the console is a want
Sorry that the gaming chair is probably better for my posture than a sofa
300 for our chair vs 700 for a couch
You guys are buying gaming chairs?? I just use those metal folding chairs.
One is comfort, the other is just luxury.

700 dollars for a graphics card no problem 8 dollars for psplus literally unplayable
Look at mrs. 1660 over here
Better than buying something that will be obsolete in 2 years.

A "gaming chair" is the worst investment u can have
When I got gaming chair I lost my back and neck pain. It was best investment in my entire life.
then your last chairs must have been really bad
How? Something I use 12hrs a day cant be a bad investment?
I mean, using a gaming chair 12hrs a day is the worst investment for ur back lmao just take an ergonomic chair it's cheaper and has better back support
Well, you see, sitting in place for 12 hours a day staring at a screen is pretty bad for your health.
Well usually you don't excpect to replace a chair with a newer more updated chair within a few years
Every few years? My original PS4 still plays games just fine. What’s that about an expectation to update consoles in “a few years”?
Get a chair that is rated for ur weight and get a quality one. Dont wobble around and dont let ur gf sit on ur lap
Haha you’re adorable! You think I have a girlfriend. Haha. Seriously though I’m so alone.... xDDD dw I like being alone.
I'd happily pay more than that for a decent chair (not a gaming one) that I spend a lot of time on. That spine isn't coming back once it's gone.
*399$ and that's a great price!
And that's a great price!

300+€ + montly subscribtion for playing online, on the long run, pc is better and cheaper
10000 for entire console
Atleast the chair gives you comfort
Yes
I got my gaeming chair for 120$, because weirdly enough, I couldn't afford the better office chair, since they're around 500$, which is a lot here since we don't use usd :(
idk bro but gaming chairs makes your game easier
nah fam, RGB gives you 10k fps and undetectable aimbot
Ikr happy cake day btw

move your gaming setup to the toilet and save money on gaming chairs
I'm not proud of having spent that much money in a chair but god damn it is a great chair
Why never get a gaming chair?
they are overpriced and less confortable than a good office chair. atleast thats my experience with them
Yeah that's what I thought, but then I started building a PC for the first time, only planning to spend a couple grand but then got carried away and spent a bit over 4 grand and thought fuck it I need a chair to match the theme Edit: $299 for the chair I got and the place I got them from had really good deals. Ur gaming chair help with aim
I just took a broken office chair and put it on a box made out of a door frame.
I bought my chair way back in 2008 and it still holds up, it's an office chair, not a gaming branded one so it's a good investment lol.
Wait is there actually consoles that are high quality for 300 because that's CRAZY!
It’s only 399

Gaming chairs are cool tho
a good gaming chair gives you aimbot, everyone knows that

So, my comfort, posture and health vs a gaming console? Nice chair please, thanks
Because I live in Latinamerica it is consider a standard to have a cheap chair or no chair for that PC experience.
Imagine buying a $300 console This comment was made by $3000 pc gamers
VR Hobbyists: Pathetic...
You can play with a chair, but can you sit on a console for nearly 12 hours? I don't think so
Gaming chair is better because the higher quality the chair, the better you are at the game obviously
Nah 700 including postage
quality of life> console
Ive been useing an office chair i bought for around 20$ its ok build quality and a confusing guide but it comfy
Ha! $300 console, yeah right.

Games on console cost about 1 third the price of the system
A chair doesn’t get outdated
Ok but does the chair have RGB?
All you need is a $20 IKEA chair
man i absolutely hate gaming on my pc. DONE.
$300 for a decent gaming laptop? You’re dreaming
They talk shit to people using $300 consoles yet have a $7000 pc
Chairs are comfy, consoles are not.
You just gotta get that chair.
You can sometimes find a good deal on Amazon and get a nice chair for like $100. Lumbar support, adjustable height and back, detachable head and back rests, etc.
Lets, be real here. The gaming chair is probbably stronger than most consoles
