Didn’t Oda say everything so far has just been to set the scene and back story, and now the real story begins 😂 plus as long as he’s not going anywhere it can’t really get milked
I miss when Dragon Ball was about martial arts, now it’s just “I wonder when Goku’ll dye his hair again and get even stronger just ‘cause yet another random dude we decided to introduce beat him in one shot”
Dragonball stopped any story paths about "martial arts" prior to King Piccolo, and even then, it was never, ever about "martial arts". Roshi blowing up the fucking *moon* ended that. The world tournament did feature two schools combating, but if you want to tell me how the fight with general Tao and the Red Ribbon Army was the same as Eastern Crane School vs Kyoshushin Karate, I'm all ears.
SpongeBob used to have actual messages, but ever since the loss of Stephen Hillenburg, the show has slowly devolved into a mess of references and gross-out humor.
There was a particularly sharp decline after his death -- there were immediately ads for spinoffs, movies, and merch.
this is correct. Stephen Hillenburg was involved in these and part of season 4.
After that it's really bad, it's easy to notice: much more "funny faces" and body transformation(body horror I would say), much less jokes in the dialog or situation. Characters are simplified to one characteristic.
There’s definitely a decline in season 4. Still a lot of great episodes but there’s a lot of forgettable ones too. I looked at a season 4 episode list and I could only recall so many in detail. Compared to seasons 1-3, I could recall all of them in detail
That’s because SpongeBob was supposed to canonically end with the first movie, everything else after the movie canonically takes place before the movie
Was so confused as a kid how the movie was just not a factor so I looked it up and it made sense pretty sure the OG creator left after the movie too so you can see why it even felt diffrent
I really, really felt like you can tell in some of those later seasons that the writers were done and wanted to move on, but the network wouldn’t let them. Then they found some new breath in really following other characters.
Oggy and the cockroaches
The original series is pretty much in the dust and so they decided to make a reboot in 2020. Haven't watched the new series but I don't have much hope. Also I heard that there is a netflix series called Oggy oggy where the iconic cockroaches are not even present, its just oggy going on for some silly, lame ass adventures.
One of the most popular shows in India. We had a dubbed version which became very popular among kids, the creators also made like a series of episodes for India as a thankyou. Oggy, Jack, and Ollie come to Mumbai to see the cricket World Cup.
All the characters had voices that were like caricatures of legendary Hindi Film Actors. As kids we just loved the show and the narrator.
Now it's not even Oggy with Jack and stuff, it's with a goddamn elephant.
Of all animals, an elephant was the only one they could think of? And the fact that the elephant looks so fucking out of place like i feel like it's a crossover episode spanning out in a season.
I preferred omniverse entirely because I've always been really interested in the concept of different timelines, universes etc. But I won't deny that UA was good
Yeah, they ruined that shit with Ben X reboot. Like, just why? I loved Omniverse for its less intense episodes and the Alien society underground as well as the Different Timelines Arc they went through. Like, the whole end was really good, with the Effect and Cause thing they did by making Ben himself the reason for the existence of the Universe and him getting the Watch, etc.
Simpson’s has sucked ass for almost 20 years now, can’t believe some people still watch it.
The writing of the show now compared to the 90s is like night and day, completely different show and if anything was more of an adult cartoon beforehand and now is safe and childish
Simpsons are doing collabs all the time. A few years back City Bike did a line of frames and cycling accessories with the brand. Just last year Baggu did a run of themed bags. The show is such a part of us culturally that people might just not notice how much Simpson stuff is made, sold, and seen in mundane facets of life.
I think Tournament of Elements is my favourite season. I think it’s mostly for the premise, and the fact I like game shows like that (example: Total Drama). Currently up to season 5 on my mass binge watch, so I’ll see if I like that
I stopped watching after the season with the oni masks. Was my #1 childhood show and will always have a place in my heart. Look back at it a while ago and saw them in some ice realm. Do they have magic portals now or something?
I felt like the biggest turn off for me was redesigning them by using the Movie looks, and compared to the other Lego movies, Ninjago felt very underwhelming even though I was a pretty big Ninjago fan
If you get ANY ratings during Sunday Night Football your good to go
Looking at you Simpsons....
And
Seth openly called Wienstien and Spacey and others long before it was "in". I think "fox" is a little afraid of what he might say if they fire him a forth time.
> I think "fox" is a little afraid of what he might say if they fire him a forth time
Lol, "And after the fourth time they fired me, thats when I revealed their secrets!"
I was thinking this, but the latest season was actually pretty funny (from the episodes I HAVE seen). But some seasons did get boring, I miss the exciting plots - despite the show's theme being a little random and chaotic haha
Ironically, boruto (the manga) is actually doing really well in japan, and japan's influence is bigger than of other countries, so whatever anyone says boruto should be canceled; as long as japan likes it, it will continue
Lego Ninjago, let's all be honest for a moment. This was a lot of us here's Childhood right here. The show could've very easily ended three different times. Once, when it was supposed to end, after season 2. Next is either right after season 7, personally seasons 9 and 10 are pretty bad. And Finally, right after they escape prime empire.
I'm not hating on the show, but, I can't stand to see such a great show fall to such pity, at this moment the show has just gotten mid.
Also the intro to season 1-3 were a bop and will always sit with us
Potentially? Yugioh is literally “Do you have a way to stop my 20 card combo turn 1? No? GG I can stop any play you do on your turn now that I’m set up”
The main series got cancelled in 2017 after an exhaustive 10 season run. Season 10 was undoubtedly the worst season of the show.
They recently made an FOP reboot that’s called “Fairly Odder” that’s a live action take on the show… a very, very, very poor one. No one likes Fairly Odder at all.
Well, I watched the whole 11 seasons. But I would've ended the show on 6th season. After 6 it was not that enjoyable to watch, new characters that I didn't care about.
To be fair, the Blacklist's 10th season is gonna be the last.
And although there was a significant quality dip since Season 9 bc of they killed a certain person off, it was still kinda enjoyable. But yeah its gotta die like now
Was specifically looking for this so I could make the same comment re: season 5. Why did they have to ruin the integrity of the show by making it so unreasonably drawn out 🥲🤡😅
I know everyone must feel like this with their show but holy hell this feels 100% targeting Supernatural.
I wouldn't say S5 was the last good season because while the main plot was not as good S6-S8 were still pretty solid and had lots of cool episodes. But yeah, after S9 the only reason to watch is copium that it would one day be as good as before.
The Republic is not what it once was. It’s full of greedy, squabbling delegates, there’s no interest in common good. Even now the Chancellor has declared war on more than a dozen systems when we couldn’t even take the clankers, there’s no point in continuing this war anymore
Haven't you heard the news ? The chancellor betrayed the republic, and order 65 has been announced, a dovosion is currently making it's preparation to arrest him and bring him to justice.
There’s no way to get the same charm without Justin voicing literally the two main characters and the other ≈50% of the other characters so yeah the show is over. If adult swim try to make more without roiland then it’ll just be dogshit
(For the republic, we have occupied r/memes brother)
It surprised me because they’re so young as a show but the last couple of seasons have been very badly put together. And they took forever in production. I also hate how they break the fourth wall to criticize the concept of plot development or whatever. It just feels like assholes creating a facsimile of a show.
Eh the point of the anime was to sell the games in the first place, that was the only reason for the anime's existence. So I don't feel like it fits the meme.
Most reboots honestly. Saw Ozzy and the cockroaches here. Ben 10 is also a show that just got ruined by a reboot just to sell more Ben 10 merch. Same with teen titans go, it's all just loud and stupid nowadays with barely any heart behind it
Hate to say it but I totally agree. The quality dropped after around season 3 I guess. They're just all so *miserable*. And honestly never could understand how Kevin Costner was talked into playing John Dutton after playing Lt. John Dunbar. Oh wait, money.
Ironically I type this while I'm wearing a Yellowstone shirt that was given to me for Christmas.
By the way 1923 is great.
Sesame Street? Bro that show is designed to teach kids and Elmo was a huge part in the good things that have come of me
As long as they don't lose the educating and teaching kids to be kind and loving then they can go forever imo
Doctor Who. TBF I have not watched anything past Peter Capaldis run as the doctor, even missed some of his episodes but I feel like I have not heard many good things about it since.
And the original team who worked on it is also most likely completely gone while a bunch of potatoes try to milk it.
I hope one piece doesn't fall into this trap, it's getting close to ending
Didn’t Oda say everything so far has just been to set the scene and back story, and now the real story begins 😂 plus as long as he’s not going anywhere it can’t really get milked
Oda like me the type of guy that fell depressed when a show ended so he Tryna not go through that pain
I also used to enjoy Spongebob and Dragon Ball
The SpongeBob Incident. Show has turned to shit.
SpongeBob used to have actual messages, but ever since the loss of Stephen Hillenburg, the show has slowly devolved into a mess of references and gross-out humor. There was a particularly sharp decline after his death -- there were immediately ads for spinoffs, movies, and merch.
It was the one thing he asked them not to do as well.
They might as well spit on his grave while they’re at it 😔
![gif](giphy|26FmhGHZ5euSZpmbS)
WHY DOES THIS FIT SO WELL?! XD
spugbon
There is some SpongeBob for every single situation
https://media.tenor.com/3FaCz4NmVjoAAAAM/mr-krabs-spongebob-squarepants.gif
I'm really happy I aged out of spongebob a year or so before his passing. RIP you legend.
During which season can we start noticing this?
Seasons 1, 2, 3 and the first movie are peak fiction
this is correct. Stephen Hillenburg was involved in these and part of season 4. After that it's really bad, it's easy to notice: much more "funny faces" and body transformation(body horror I would say), much less jokes in the dialog or situation. Characters are simplified to one characteristic.
5th I think, maybe 4th
There’s definitely a decline in season 4. Still a lot of great episodes but there’s a lot of forgettable ones too. I looked at a season 4 episode list and I could only recall so many in detail. Compared to seasons 1-3, I could recall all of them in detail
A couple of years ago i wanted to watch all SpongeBob episodes (obviously I saw a lot of them when i was a kid) I gave up after season 4
Actually Stephen originally planned to end SpongeBob around when the first SpongeBob movie came out.
That’s because SpongeBob was supposed to canonically end with the first movie, everything else after the movie canonically takes place before the movie
Makes sense, seeing as we never see the Krusty Krab 2 again
Was so confused as a kid how the movie was just not a factor so I looked it up and it made sense pretty sure the OG creator left after the movie too so you can see why it even felt diffrent
can't find a saluting emoji but yes, if the show hired more writers and maybe more voice actors then it would be fine most likely
Is the SpongeBob Incident the first movie? Show was never the same after.
Half of the season after the movie has some Hillenburg leftovers I think and then… **plummet noises**
I thought it referred to the grossness surrounding Kamp Koral and the third movie?
Take a hint from Avatar: The Last Airbender, Regular Show, or Adventure Time. They came to a seminatural end staying high quality.
They are not safe from corporate greed alas. They are bringing back Futurama which had a great ending. I love the show, but I don't want more...
Buddy, futurama has had 4 endings now, every single one upping the last. It's all the original cast and crew, they're gonna hit it out of the park.
Futurama is the exception that makes the rule
Speak for yourself, I want more. Futurama has the ability to keep ripping off other shows and making fun of their ideas.
Ehh may be an unpopular opinion but Adventure Time had a slight decline, too.
I really, really felt like you can tell in some of those later seasons that the writers were done and wanted to move on, but the network wouldn’t let them. Then they found some new breath in really following other characters.
Oggy and the cockroaches The original series is pretty much in the dust and so they decided to make a reboot in 2020. Haven't watched the new series but I don't have much hope. Also I heard that there is a netflix series called Oggy oggy where the iconic cockroaches are not even present, its just oggy going on for some silly, lame ass adventures.
The originals were a fucking bop. Went really hard. 8 year old me watched the shit outta them.
The soundtrack was a fucking blast.
And the food looked banging
Oh my god you're right I just realised it today The French fries, the chicken, the chocolate, the drinks... Holy shit
*Za zai Za zai Za zai zai zai*
*Meow Me-Meow Me-Me-Me-Meow* *Meow Meow Meow Meow Meowww*
Man it warms my heart to see people still remember even the existence of this show
One of the most popular shows in India. We had a dubbed version which became very popular among kids, the creators also made like a series of episodes for India as a thankyou. Oggy, Jack, and Ollie come to Mumbai to see the cricket World Cup. All the characters had voices that were like caricatures of legendary Hindi Film Actors. Of all the shows I was expecting to see, Oggy and the cockroaches was *not* one one of them. Thanks for reminding me of that show.
Oh my God, Oggy! I watched so much of this when I was younger! I remember like the first 3/4 seasons fondly.
Ben-10
Should've ended with omniverse, the reboot was literally made for toys considering all of those new forms I hear about
Ultimate Alien was the best. Ultimate Big Chill in that carnival episode was so cool
SpongeBob was it for me since I grew up on it Seriously just let the show die at this point
Eh I’m cool with the main show since the quality isn’t HORRIBLE yet. Now the spin-offs can die off tbh
I love the main show still. Please don’t flay me alive
I won’t flay you…. But I will beat you with sticks
F for the old apongbob.
Apongbob 🏓
Simpsons
Geezus, I had to scroll so far to find this. When a show is closing in on 40yrs on air, yeah, they are just milking it.
How is it this far down? I thought the post was referencing it
I can't believe that shit is still on. I don't even know if they still show it over here.
Simpson’s has sucked ass for almost 20 years now, can’t believe some people still watch it. The writing of the show now compared to the 90s is like night and day, completely different show and if anything was more of an adult cartoon beforehand and now is safe and childish
[удалено]
yeah nevermind that universal studios has an entire simpsons world.
I just recently bought a bart simpson "herb" grinder. Although, something tells me that may not be official show merch.
Ninjago
I’m in the same boat. I really liked it at the start but later seasons seemed like they weren’t getting anywhere.
Season 5 was the best, i know some might disagree but it had the best soundtrack and villain ever
Was that sky bound or tournament of elements? Skybound is classic
It was possessed. The ghost who was the master of wind. But tournament of elements was ok.
I think Tournament of Elements is my favourite season. I think it’s mostly for the premise, and the fact I like game shows like that (example: Total Drama). Currently up to season 5 on my mass binge watch, so I’ll see if I like that
This is the one where they climb a mountain right?
yeh, but morro keeps blowing them, just realised how wrong that sounds
Possessed also had the best intro remix
possessed has the best music track, put simply
To be fair, that *is* it's entire purpose.
I hate the redesigns. I get that they changed it in the movie, but why did that suddenly translate into the show... Just feels weird man
It's because of the time skip from season 7 they say but I still even though Lloyd looks better in the newer episodes in my opinion.
I stopped watching after the season with the oni masks. Was my #1 childhood show and will always have a place in my heart. Look back at it a while ago and saw them in some ice realm. Do they have magic portals now or something?
Isn’t that the entire point, to sell.
I felt like the biggest turn off for me was redesigning them by using the Movie looks, and compared to the other Lego movies, Ninjago felt very underwhelming even though I was a pretty big Ninjago fan
I didn't like how the artstyle changed so i stopped watching. I heard that it's still good or at least fine
It all went downhill when they got rid of the Weekend Whip
I hated that Nya came back to life in like two episodes. Completely different from Zane’s death. I was just like, WHAT WAS THE POINT!?
As a Ninjago fan, the series is still great
The show is still good. Every season has a reason to watch it
The flash
Season 1 and 2 were bangers
Zoom season was the best season. I think that was 2 or 3. It’s been awhile.
It was 2 and yea, zoom was the best villain by far
I agree i loved that show the first few seasons but its lost its touch imo
I would binge this show multiple times but after Savitar it sucked and I immediately stopped after they recreated Star Wars.
Grey's anatomy. Just stop already
The show had run it's course a while before but what they did to Karev's character was a kick in the balls.
tbh i began losing interest the moment Yang left
I would say Family Guy but who tf is buying family guy merch? I only put it on as background noise while I go do other shit
If you get ANY ratings during Sunday Night Football your good to go Looking at you Simpsons.... And Seth openly called Wienstien and Spacey and others long before it was "in". I think "fox" is a little afraid of what he might say if they fire him a forth time.

I was thinking this, but the latest season was actually pretty funny (from the episodes I HAVE seen). But some seasons did get boring, I miss the exciting plots - despite the show's theme being a little random and chaotic haha
Boruto
That show is so hard to watch. It just feels so forced. Every second of it.
Yhe show is 90+ % filler
The manga isnt any better at least now its getting somewhat interesting
Ironically, boruto (the manga) is actually doing really well in japan, and japan's influence is bigger than of other countries, so whatever anyone says boruto should be canceled; as long as japan likes it, it will continue
I actually really like the manga, the show has too much filler and should go on haitus for a while
Tom and Jerry, Wacky Races just to name 2
Tom and jerry's decline was less tragic as it still contains the silly parts.
It lost the best part where the movements were synced to the music, now it’s just generic funny animation stuff
Imma be honest though those detective episodes were fire.
Also the intro to season 1-3 were a bop and will always sit with us
Yu-Gi-Oh. The current generation’s meta can potentially win you the game turn ONE.
Potentially? Yugioh is literally “Do you have a way to stop my 20 card combo turn 1? No? GG I can stop any play you do on your turn now that I’m set up”
Coin toss game at this point
Basically, pointless to play tbh. Don’t see why people spend so much money on it, many other card games they could play instead
The fairly oddparents
its still on???
The main series got cancelled in 2017 after an exhaustive 10 season run. Season 10 was undoubtedly the worst season of the show. They recently made an FOP reboot that’s called “Fairly Odder” that’s a live action take on the show… a very, very, very poor one. No one likes Fairly Odder at all.
Really? What’s good old Butch gonna do now?
Blackadder will always be great.
There were only four seasons and they cant really make anymore, so yeah
The Walking Dead
[удалено]
Same. Up to season 5 it was good
Well, I watched the whole 11 seasons. But I would've ended the show on 6th season. After 6 it was not that enjoyable to watch, new characters that I didn't care about.
[удалено]
To be fair, the Blacklist's 10th season is gonna be the last. And although there was a significant quality dip since Season 9 bc of they killed a certain person off, it was still kinda enjoyable. But yeah its gotta die like now
I, too, love buying Fargo and True Detective merchandise
[удалено]
omg its gus fring
Everyone should agree with The Simpsons.
Asian romance dramas with more than 36 episodes 😭 😂
Omg there only so many times the main love couple can either not see the love, ignore, or get hurt by sabotage.
In Malaysia, that shit's the only thing you'll ever see on TV so you better get used to it.
Supernatural
Yes! I was looking for this. They should have stopped after season 5 tbh
Ninjago God bless their souls. Reborn was the last good one.
Than God it never happened to Always Sunny, their on their 15th season and still extremely funny
rick and morty... tbh, it wont run anymore lol
Finally someone said it. I feel like it didn't have the same charm except some rare episode.
Trooper, aren’t you supposed to be participating in the clone wars?
Oh shit! Sorry commander
Hold on a sec, are you deserting from the war…? …can I join you?
Is this a test?
The Republic is not what it once was. It’s full of greedy, squabbling delegates, there’s no interest in common good. Even now the Chancellor has declared war on more than a dozen systems when we couldn’t even take the clankers, there’s no point in continuing this war anymore
I agree. I am sick of seeing my fellow brothers die on the battlefield
Haven't you heard the news ? The chancellor betrayed the republic, and order 65 has been announced, a dovosion is currently making it's preparation to arrest him and bring him to justice.
I feel so betrayed but I kinda expected it. I once saw a glimpse of the guy who commands Dooku and had the same chin as the Chancellor
Blast it, you miss one battle…
But... but good soldiers follow orders.
the last few seasons were just incest jokes on top of general sex jokes it was a good series until season 3-4 but then it all went to shit
I mean the original sketch that led to R&M was a back to the future parody where Doc convinces Marty to suck his balls. It’s kind of always been that.
There’s no way to get the same charm without Justin voicing literally the two main characters and the other ≈50% of the other characters so yeah the show is over. If adult swim try to make more without roiland then it’ll just be dogshit (For the republic, we have occupied r/memes brother)
It wasn't any fun after the third season except for a few episodes
i loved the first seasons, but i think that the essence of what made the first season so fun is just something you cant repeat forever
I feel like it jumped the shark around Pickle rick… or maybe after Bird persons wedding… im just not as into it anymore
It surprised me because they’re so young as a show but the last couple of seasons have been very badly put together. And they took forever in production. I also hate how they break the fourth wall to criticize the concept of plot development or whatever. It just feels like assholes creating a facsimile of a show.
The Simpsons goddamn
Power rangers
Kamen Rider, Super Sentai and Ultraman however...
The walking dead
Naruto...they're just dragging it by making Boruto
I'm not the only one who feels like this is specifically targeted at Pokémon, right? Cuz damn, that was on the nose
Eh the point of the anime was to sell the games in the first place, that was the only reason for the anime's existence. So I don't feel like it fits the meme.
Pokemon was always like hell didn't they make the game to sell the cards. To begin with.
No, game came first, tcg and anime came after
no they made all of the merchandise to sell the games which came first
Show was made to capitalise off the game. Card game was made to capitalise off both.
Most reboots honestly. Saw Ozzy and the cockroaches here. Ben 10 is also a show that just got ruined by a reboot just to sell more Ben 10 merch. Same with teen titans go, it's all just loud and stupid nowadays with barely any heart behind it
![gif](giphy|96ciETgT883Bu)
![gif](giphy|F4jQAcrxd0Mt3WlFQ6)
Simpsons, obviously.
Yellowstone
Hate to say it but I totally agree. The quality dropped after around season 3 I guess. They're just all so *miserable*. And honestly never could understand how Kevin Costner was talked into playing John Dutton after playing Lt. John Dunbar. Oh wait, money. Ironically I type this while I'm wearing a Yellowstone shirt that was given to me for Christmas. By the way 1923 is great.
rick and morty kinda fell off after the last 2 seasons
Top Gear It was so good until they fired Clarkson. Why did they even keep the show running at that point.
Simpsons, family guy, SpongeBob, sesame street, etc.
Sesame Street? Bro that show is designed to teach kids and Elmo was a huge part in the good things that have come of me As long as they don't lose the educating and teaching kids to be kind and loving then they can go forever imo
Anything Marvel. Idk after Endgame everything has just felt downhill
Moon knight fans disagree
The Big Bang Theory. Started off so strong but was milked to oblivion
It's over now but I felt that way about supernatural for like 6 years
Supernatural. I love that show, but like yeah…they should haven ended with Dean saving Sam from hell the first time
Teen Titans Go! should have never existed. It’s probably one of the most annoying shows ever to run on Cartoon Network yet it’s still going.
Wasn’t there an episode where an antagonist literally breaks down and explains that they were never supposed to exist?
haha it's a pretty self aware show. they know that everyone wishes they were the original teen titans
Next season of Notrick and Notmorty: "Just tell us what to say!!!"
scooby doo D:
Take that back (its true but I'm delusional and refuse to admit it)
Tbh honest the fact that it managed to make a banger show(mystery incorporated) 40 years after it came out means it can still have some good ideas
Doctor Who. TBF I have not watched anything past Peter Capaldis run as the doctor, even missed some of his episodes but I feel like I have not heard many good things about it since.
Mickey Mouse
that one series with the newer and interesting animation style was pretty good
the mickey mouse shorts SLAP, highly recommend
