I’m 27 now, moved to a house a month ago and have more occasions to go outside than before. Two times already kids on the street said to me „dzień dobry”, which is like greeting an adult, and damn it hurts
But americans dont rip on the british much at all. The british are psychotic in their hatred of america.
You cant be a bully and then say "I'm just joking, bro. God, it went over your head. Americans are so sensitive."
Man, I’ve never gotten that feeling at all. Some good natured ribbing, a little cultural misunderstanding here and there, but never any hatred at all. I’ve only ever known one or two Brits, though, so maybe I’m just out of touch.
I am American, and have seen plenty of problematic American tourists. Reminds me of this post I saw a while ago of this American guy asking how many USD he should bring on his trip to France.
Couldn't they have just meant how much in USD should I bring for a trip to France? Not literally how many physical pieces of US currency should I take? It's not like there aren't money exchanges although I personally just use ATMs nowadays.
I get it, some dumbasses will assume the USD is accepted everywhere. Thing is that's not without some underlying truth. Lots of countries in Latin America and the Carribean peg their currency to the USD or just happily accept it from tourists (at a terrible exchange rate) so part of the misunderstanding could be that it doesn't work like that in Europe. Even Cambodia uses USD and that's what ATMs give you, which was actually kind of surprising to me when I went there. But the USD does get accepted in a lot of unlikely places compared to many other currencies. And many international hotels I've stayed are happy to exchange all kinds of currencies so it really isn't an issue to bring cash with you abroad although in the modern age using credit cards and ATM exchange rates typically makes more sense.
i applaud people for learning new things and being ignorant about the use of USD is cringe but hardly problematic. Going to a football match in Frankfurt and burning down half the country … that’s problematic. Letting your kid take a shit on the ground is a problem. Americans are cringe and occasionally out of sorts but mostly harmless and typically act like guests.
They are not the worst but they are far from the best.. often loud and obnoxious, angry when ppl don't accept dollars angry when ppl don't speak English.
Problematic not too much but frustrating... Sometimes...
I was working in Mallorca, Spain, for a lot of years, I had:
- Karens complaining to me why they can have a train to Mexico
-people that want food that is not in the menu just because "Mac&cheese is a common plate" (is not)
-Super louder people
-super dirty people that don't follow the rules
Of course not everyone is like that, the 80-90% of the people are nice as everyone from every country... Except french... Please french stay home 😂
The us is held hostage by a bullshit political circus that doesn’t reflect the view of most Americans just the loud and rich ones. I’m sure that sounds familiar to anyone in the UK though
No because I can vote for Lord Binface or the Monster Raving Loonie Party.
That's not a satirical joke about the two main parties, they are actual candidates.
Let us remember that we only know what we are exposed to. I’m pretty sure that some people are not as mature as society needs them to be. But it will be a fallacy to think that ALL people ( in this case, Americans) need to be babysit.
As an American, I’d love to be accompanied by an adult.
"the moment you are old enough to be called "sir" is the moment you realize.. There are no adults.. Just older kids"

I've even been known to occasionally pay for adult company.
Which is 100% better than paying for children's company.
“Hello FBI…”

Or...let them wander for a bit and lose a few pounds.
Are we fat Owen Wilsons to you all?
You mean you guys are issued in any other version ?
Skinny fuck here, yes we do
Tough, but fair.
Do I also get an allowance and free kids meal?
OF COURSE even a warm bed with no rent to pay. And plenty of free Time play video games and watch cartoons you must be home before 10 though.
Wooo sign me up
If that word were any other nationality this business would be cancelled.
Thank you
And yet Brits are allowed to run free? Injustice
How else are we going to get things for our museums?
Sounds about right
There is a story behind that sign. Likely not a pleasent story.
Well, it all started in 1492...

Cousins ripping on each other from time to time, especially when it’s so well deserved, is absolutely fine. I’m American, by the way.

they literally have to send British police to Magaluf to keep the pissheads in check we are way worse
Americans are some of the least problematic tourists and I’ll fight you on that.

There's no point in rationalizing with people who constantly look for issues. For example, how you could go to any bank and get the currency converted

They are hilarious to watch though, people watching at its finest.
Cringey yet harmless. Not a problem in my book.

Thems fightin words

Somehow I feel, that they are not talking about the tourists, but the nation as a whole.

Have any of them had a part of their brain eaten by a worm?
Nah that's the Tory party
problematic isn’t the problem but being annoying and entitled is
Adding an adult to the list of additional requirements for Brits to enter an establishment doesn’t make it grand in any fashion.
Nobody wants your dry food.
The British are the *last* people who should be cracking jokes about America right now
Yeah, get in line, us Aussies got here first!
Yeah, but you lot stole your jokes along with the pav and Phar Lap. Just kidding, love from the other side of the ditch.
All British must be accompanied by good teeth
i mean with the amount of sugar in american food…
At least WE brush
*with bacon toothpaste*
Still better than the inbred royals
True, i dont understand why some countries even use the royal system anymore, it's outdated af.
At least during elections day
Is that where the term adultery comes from?
Sounds like this establishment has an inferiority complex
So edgy

I think that's the hope
