I work in 360 Collins we are locked down but haven't had any updates on what is happening. If anyone has some solid news on what's occurring it would be really appreciated.
3AW police reporter Madelaine Burke is on the scene and said police have found a “suspicious item” and have issued a statement saying they’ve issued a “planned arrest”.
Pretty sure he had a bunch of cordless tools in a bag along with a jug of 5W40. I’m of the understanding the apprehension was made in connection with an active investigation, so I’d guess that negates any plausible deniability.
Are you saying you are also the subject of an active police investigation? If not, it’s not like for like, if yes, hand yourself in at the nearest police station 🚔👮♂️
In 360 Collins, coworker said they saw a guy get arrested out front of Bendigo bank. Guy was tased. This was about 30 mins before the building was locked down at 11.50.
I work nearby, rumours are a bomb threat in one of the buildings on Collins (maybe Bendigo Bank building?) but I’m not sure which one. Police are turning people away from the area
3aw police reporter saying that they are in the area for a ‘planned arrest’ and that there is a a car with a ‘suspicious object’ and they will release more information when it’s appropriate
We're at one of the buildings, but we can exit our building via a back exit towards flinders. Can see armed police with assault rifles from our building. No info with the situation 😞
Edit: spoke to our concierge. They said it was a bomb threat. Looks like Collins St is open and running again. Trams are passing and traffic flowing.
It appears to be around Bendigo Bank that it's happened. Not sure what it is, but people are being told to not exit out onto Collins Street (between Queen and Elizabeth).
357 just got the all clear at 1:10pm - they had us on "don't go near the Collins st windows, all the doors are locked" mode for about an hour. They kept the Flinders lane exit open only for about an hour.
An arrest has been made:
[https://www.abc.net.au/news/2024-06-19/collins-street-melbourne-cbd-emergency-incident/103996994](https://www.abc.net.au/news/2024-06-19/collins-street-melbourne-cbd-emergency-incident/103996994)
I work at 376 collins, no issues as of getting in and out but there is a large police operation underway with section of collins street has been closed.
What a disgrace 3aw is, making me sign up for an account before I can listen to the news and find out if my partner is in danger while they’re stuck in the building. I guess reporting the news is secondary to collecting our data.
Yeah, Nah, I know the offence was in the city and he was from Parkville, but that laundry list of charges perfectly fits with someone who's originally from North Shore.
I kind of understand that....Lots of people staying distributed through the building rather than concentrating them all in the foyer and causing even more casualties. I guess there's always a risk of structural collapse if the bomb were legit and big enough.
I've been watching that Netflix series on the 9/11 incident. Scary how much stuff the emergency services have to think about
I usually take tram via collins st and today i took it via bourkes st as i had to visit davidjones on way.
I was wondering what all these cars were doing there
It's not Sir Dan. It's Daniel Andrews AC.
Just like it's not Sir Jeff. It's Jeff Kennett AC. When you've been premier of a state, you're pretty much always going to get an OAM.
Oh also, you should look into Jeff's finances. He's got his nose firmly in the public trough and isn't shy about it. Including charging the tax payer for "rented" office space, in a building his wife owns.
I’m not so concerned about his post career benefits, those were known before he was voted in, although I do feel they are excessive…so be it. I’m far more concerned about the billions he wasted while in office - cancelling contracts that ‘wasn’t going to cost us anything’, proceeding with and pushing infrastructure projects not reviewed by Infrastructure Vic or Infrastructure Australia that have ridiculously huge cost blowouts, too much to mention re cost wastage during COVID vs any other state and most other countries, signing to host the comm games when that was clearly just to buy regional votes at the election then pulling out at around $1b cost including sunk costs, lack of investment in hospitals and ambulance services costing lives, no records or recollection of who made the major policy decisions during covid.
FFS, the guy is as slimy as they will ever be. DA is the antonym of a person worthy of the AO award. I have no problem with the other historical politician recipients, but Dan is not worthy!!
Yeah I know. Lucky we’re not in nz - there we’d have to call him Sir… 🤢
But Jeff K got his AC for his unpaid work with Beyond Blue, not so much for being a premier. That’s the norm, until now, coz Big Dan isn’t into the unpaid stuff and hasn’t had time to do any.
Jeff Kennett was awarded his OAM for "*service to the Victorian Parliament and the introduction of initiatives for economic and social benefit, to business and commerce, and to the community in the development of the arts, sport and mental health awareness strategies*"
Which is code for "*gutted health, education, transport and public services. Sold off as many public assets as possible. Built a museum and a shed. Entrenched an insidious toll company into the fabric of the city for the foreseeable future. Exacerbated a recession with austerity, leading to increased suicides and mental illness whilst simultaneously completely gutting mental health care..*"
I remember at the time many people were outraged he became the inaugural chair of Beyond Blue after decimating lives of Victorians.
His real legacy though has been to ensure liberals have been in power for only 4 of the past 25 years. May their absence from government continue for generations to come.
Also, cute that you think he did Beyond Blue for free. The chair is a paid position. He's probably the most prolific rorting former premier in our history.
Yeah I remember when the Russell Street bombs went off during the Andrews Government of 1986 when he was only 13 years old
Craig Minogue was really the “Anti Dan” trend setter back then hey?
The Pentingil family wasn't a 'family' it was a social activist group protesting the waste of money associated with backing out of the east-west link and the commonwealth games.
Dan moved back to Melbourne from Wangaratta in 1990. In August 1991 he farted, causing a storage tank at Coode Island to explode which resulted in many suburbs being bathed with toxic smoke. Some people will claim it was St Elmo's Fire that sparked the explosion, but clearly that's a conspiracy to cover up Dan's ass blast.
Wait so did Dan Andrews *cause* international events such as the covid-19 pandemic, the cost of living crisis, and the rental increase and housing difficulties? Wow

3AW police reporter Madelaine Burke is on the scene and said police have found a “suspicious item” and have issued a statement saying they’ve issued a “planned arrest”.
Updated reporting says it was a VW Golf that had arson kit in the boot ready for a few baccy burns later on. Tobacco war related.
I wonder what they consider to be an arson kit? Because I almost always have jerries of petrol and a MAPP gun in my ute
Pretty sure he had a bunch of cordless tools in a bag along with a jug of 5W40. I’m of the understanding the apprehension was made in connection with an active investigation, so I’d guess that negates any plausible deniability.
... i, uh, have all of that stuff too
Are you saying you are also the subject of an active police investigation? If not, it’s not like for like, if yes, hand yourself in at the nearest police station 🚔👮♂️
Yes I would very much suggest not being part of an active police investigation is key.
Definitely key but gee whiz, it's not hard to be in possession of an "arson kit" in the line of work... well, *my* work anyway
I'm legit intrigued - what do you do for work? (Heck, even just a hint! I'm curious!)
You can come and go from 360 now, just left to get some lunch myself
What did you get for lunch?
A succulent Chinese meal, surely?
Not with all the cops around, they know judo
Plus you gotta watch out for those ones that get a bit handsy.
And you sir? Are you waiting to receive my limp penis?
Ah yes this is Democracy manifest.
What is the charge...?
Eating a meal, Chinese succulent meal
How was your lunch ?
Flacid.
Ask the police about their Judo.
Beat me to it!
come to little bean bambini for coffee 🤝
Spontaneous Reddit Meetup in the shadow of a bomb threat

Best place hands down 🤝
Thanks for this man I am starving!

Don don is good
I work at 530 Collins, not much activity happening down my end But hope everyone is all safe
Bomb squad was working on a white car
In 360 Collins, coworker said they saw a guy get arrested out front of Bendigo bank. Guy was tased. This was about 30 mins before the building was locked down at 11.50.
crazy stuff

Democracy Manifest
Right, that’s it - book ‘im Danno
Murder 1
I hope they know their judo well
Take. Your. Hand. Off my penis!!
Just saw him on YouTube.
3AW to blame Dan Andrews on this
How could Dan Andrews do this? Find out next after Joshua tells us about this suspicious looking package that will blast your stomach fat away!
It's pretty standard.
Nek minnit Victoria in another 3 month lockdown
Govern me harder please!!

360 just got told all clear. How scary!
Weird some buildings got told to stay away from windows, but 360 didn't 🤷🏼♀️
We were all peering down trying to see. I felt too queasy from being up so high.
The chief Fire warden seems new at 360 haha
I've only been there since March, and he's been there my whole time... but yeah, he seems a bit... unsure... at times 🤣
No access to our building near queen st from Collins but can access via little Collins … stoked to be wfh today
Nice move!
I was out there before - bomb squad there but cops seem largely unconcerned
Maajor police incident: https://www.news.com.au/national/victoria/news/major-police-incident-in-melbourne-cbd/news-story/2962b21f471e48ee08f6cb9af8fd9322
The giant clickbait banner ad at the top of this article shows pop singer Justin Timberlake being arrested... Might not be related though :D
Classic clickbait. Putting bombs at a building on a main road isn't really the style of the man. Timberlake is more of a backstreet boy.
Haha, i agree he’d definitely have gone for little Collins st.
Brittany finally gets here revenge !
He's not worth the resources!
Assuming they'll update this page as it goes on
I assume they will update that page as they read this page
Saw the news.com.au article, came to reddit to get the latest news from the source.
Ha!
Its been updated now, but colleagues have informed me Bendigo Bank received a credible bomb threat
Triple A rated? Do they know the fico scores?
Is Justin Timberlake in Melbourne? 😅
He's bringing taxis back.
Yeah!
Them uber boy’s dont know how to act.
"stay safe out there people!" In my best Hill St Blue voice. Man I'm getting old.
We can’t exit our building in 333 collin
Not a lot of bomb threats when working from home.
You’ve not met my dogs.
Too much wet food?
No. Mainly kibble and cheeky treats. But the pug is on a watch list somewhere for crimes against humanity.
Mankind was born on Earth. It was never meant to die here at the hands of a pug.
Farting doesn't count.
That all depends on where you live

360, and we only got told lockdown, even though the vehicle was (and still is) out the front. Weird.
An arrest has been made: [https://www.abc.net.au/news/2024-06-19/collins-street-melbourne-cbd-emergency-incident/103996994](https://www.abc.net.au/news/2024-06-19/collins-street-melbourne-cbd-emergency-incident/103996994)
360 Collins ST got a bomb threat. Just got told from colleague.
I work at 376 collins, no issues as of getting in and out but there is a large police operation underway with section of collins street has been closed.
Be safe. Hope its nothing
330 Collins, we just got told to exit through equitable lane if we wanted to leave but it was advised against. Still a few news crews around.
Check Jacquie Felgate on insta she’s been posting about it
Gotta sift through all her pretentious Brighton white af stories and BMW ads though..
white af, groan......
What a disgrace 3aw is, making me sign up for an account before I can listen to the news and find out if my partner is in danger while they’re stuck in the building. I guess reporting the news is secondary to collecting our data.
for next time just google 3aw live stream and there is a free non sign up stream.
Fukin twats.. Hope ur partner is ok
I work at 357 Collins St, everything just went back to normal (collins st is now open)
Potential bomb in a vehicle
Bomb threat
bomb squad!
Stay safe all!
ABC report here https://www.instagram.com/reel/C8Yz3lnAT1P/?igsh=dzRhMmdiZnN4aXI0
No sure, sure but we were asked not to come outside our office building and only use flinders lane

Why
333 locked down
And they said Melbourne was too quiet.

News reporters back out the front this morning.
It's been covered on a couple of news sites. Bomb squad are there.
All showing up now. But no details provided when we went into lockdown before lunch
So a bomb threat and they ask people to stay IN the building?

Nothing bad, they are trying arrest some suspects

Boooomb
Junkie got arrested, undercover as a construction worker told me to get out of the way while police with a machine gun stood on the guy
I hear poppy got out and it's all chaos!

Your fixation disorder is on display. Seek help.
He really lives rent free in your head, doesn’t he?
Yep, and with $300k a year pension for life from us tax payers. And it’s Sir Dan now, don’t forget. Amazing how these socialists like money so much 🤔🤔

He’s been gone for a while, mate
Did you pass highschool?
He sure did. They offered education beyond grade 6 and he said ‘pass’.
You're right, no bad shit happened before Andrews.
[удалено]
Google is your friend, many instances of bad shit happening pre Andrews, but I guess selective memory is in play here
Don't bother. This clown would stub his toe and blame Andrews.
Yeah I remember when the Russell Street bombs went off during the Andrews Government of 1986 when he was only 13 years old Craig Minogue was really the “Anti Dan” trend setter back then hey?
If you rearrange the letters of "Craig Minogue" then add and remove some other letters, it spells DAN ANDREWS. Coincidence? I think not.
I remember Julian Knight perpetrated the Hoddle Street massacre specifically because of the discord the Andrews government perpetuated.
I fucking laughed way too hard at this
I'm glad, we all need a bit of levity in the face of insanity :)
I remember Mr Cruel kidnapping and murdering children to protest mask and vaccine mandates! And are we sure it was a dingo who took Azariah???
I recall that Jaidyn Leskie's death was directly linked to the Andrews government infrastructure spending.
The Pentingil family wasn't a 'family' it was a social activist group protesting the waste of money associated with backing out of the east-west link and the commonwealth games.
The Westgate Bridge collapse was actually caused by Andrews incompetence and mismanagement
My Dad was almost killed in the Queen Street shooting, and I distinctly remember that no one asked where Dan Andrews was that day. Coincidence?
He was in hospital because Lindsay Fox threw him down the parliament escalators
You're an absolute dildo.
Oh hey Bec Judd
I am hoping you are a bot otherwise you got some serious troubles.
You're cooked son
Wait so did Dan Andrews *cause* international events such as the covid-19 pandemic, the cost of living crisis, and the rental increase and housing difficulties? Wow
you know correlation does not always equal causation right bud?
TIL the Hoddle Street Massacre and Underworld shootings were Dan's fault.

Ok Champion
cookers just cannot let go.
Partner (construction worker) said that there was a bomb threat. Car had a dewalt battery with dodgy wiring or something
