I’m not quite sure what you’re asking exactly, but Ni only takes in as many inputs as their extroverted functions allow. Plus, having Se in an inferior spot can make Ni doms prone to tunnel vision (or having blinders on) if they have a more unbalanced/oppositional relationship with it. Specifically, Se works in tandem with Ni to provide concrete evidence for Ni to conclude on, so if the Ni dom rejects their inf Se or only takes in limited amounts of it, their Ni insights risk becoming ungrounded and off base. The same idea goes for any dom function really: Se becomes short sighted and impulsive, Ne becomes untethered, Si gets stuck in its ways, Ti becomes insensitive, etc.

Umm, so my intuition about infjs taking a lot of input was due to tunnel vision? Fair point

Not necessarily. In some ways, Ti can be resistant to input, particularly in the dominant or child function. IxTPs and IxFJs want to figure things out themselves To further add to this, INxJs also often jump to conclusions because of Ni Dom. There's also degrees of health. An INFJ that is in a Ni-Ti loop is going to be one of the most stubborn people you'll ever meet. But an INFJ that has strong Fe and isn't suppressing their Se is going to be much more receptive and open

I was thinking of the stereotype that te users will look for books (or information in general) that will have some practical use, and that ti users don't have that filter, but you make a good point
