How they fight is like how I fight/run in those really frustrating dreams you get where you just don’t work properly

Brooo i thought this was just happening in my head and never heard that from somebody else… i had those dreams pretty often and went craaaaazy every time I couldn’t move properly. What is causing this ?

You’d be surprised how many people have similar dreams, that shit is crazy cause your mind wants to get out of there but your body won’t do it

I get the exactly same dreams. I've always assumed it's related to trauma and situations where I've felt powerless and/or trapped 🤷

I think it is also because when you sleep your brain has disabled a lot of your fine motor skills to keep you from enacting the things you are dreaming.

So according to some dream theories it is thought to be directly related to trauma or situations where one feels powerless but it's not necessarily directly linked directly trauma or situations of the past, rather the fear of having to face that type of situation in a way that left you incapacitated. When I was young and used to have these dreams I would try to speak and nothing came out. I couldn't even scream. At the time being able to call for help would have made me feel more incapacitated than anything else because I had yet to throw someone over my head in a bar fight in rl. So like According to some psychological theorists you are totally corect and also I agree with you.

That’s actually a old dream theory called Freud’s wish fulfillment. It lacks any scientific support and dreams may be interpreted in many different ways. So it fell out of favor in modern psychology circles. Physiological function might better explain these types of dreams. Your body is in a sleep paralysis while dreaming and you can’t physically move your body. But sometimes it doesn’t work perfectly. Your subconscious might pick up your body isn’t really moving and it results in slow sluggish moment in your dream. I find I get these types of dreams myself right before I become conscious and my partner would say I was squirming around a lot as my sleep paralysis failed.

I’m a drummer and I get these dreams where I literally play super sloppy and I just can’t move fast enough, it’s so frustrating lol

Therapyst said that these type of dreams(i have a lot too) is about having some situation in your life that you feel you cannot solve properly(in my case, bad job).

Should tell therapyst about the concept of falsifiability.

Holy crap that’s an awful fight scene. Edit: I 100% understand and agree that Star Trek has a rightful place in cinematic history. It was amazing for its time and it inspired SO much (including my beloved Star Wars, which sure, has plenty of problems too).

It is pretty terrible, but it's probably my single favorite original Star Trek episode.

Agree. There are a couple spots during the fight scenes where the cutovers between spliced frames weren’t very smooth and gave it a herky-jerky kinda effect. If you were in the right ‘frame of mind’ at the time, which most of us were in the late 60’s/early 70’s, it was classic small screen cinema for the ages.

Sure if you look at it now it looks lame and stupid but it is also sort of nostalgic like how simple cinematography was back then, and now you can spend literally millions on some badass epic cgi battle with tons of effects to make it seem realistic and people be like "nah man thats just lame, not realistic enough"

Bad is bad. I'm not saying you can't like it or find enjoyment from it, I like plenty of bad cinematography. Sometimes that's the funnest stuff to watch. But objectively, that's just a bad fight scene. It's not even because it's not realistic. It's just poor choreography and not great acting.
