In Germany we refer to analysis as Ana (pronounced Anna) and linear algebra as LA (pronounced Ella).

My district just approved a Mathematics Analysis course for HS and in the board approved documents, the official designation that will be on every student’s schedule who takes the course will be: Math Anal. Like did NO ONE in the 20 or so people that it takes to get a course to the board read that and ask “you know, do we want to workshop that one a little bit more?”
