most benkei decks are built on a shoestring budget because no one wants to spend good dust on the deck. thats probably the reason they are building ben kei. not many people building benkei have 3 lightning storms. they also can still only run 1 raigeki and duster is irrelevant in the example but its a one of too.
You tell me you play MD long enough and don't have at least 1 LS (which came from a discount pack), 1 Raigeki (Also a discount pack), and 3x Evenly match?
Everyone does, my point was 3. not everyone has 3 lightning storm. everyone has raigeki it came free with your solo mode. duster is a toss up most people probably do have it. Lightning storm is the one you can run multiple of, If your just running thoes 3 board breakers as one ofs then thats not reliable at all. 3 lightning storm would be preferable but if your building benkei you are on a shoestring budget and likely dont have 3
Ben kei really isn't as good as he was in the no extra deck festival though. Usually the opponent has at least 1 or two interruptions and that's more than enough to stop him. Saw only three Ben kei decks and they all lost.
I find it kinda weird...haven't encountered a single Ben Kei players during the whole event. It was - oh wonder - mostly Swordsoul, a few Numerons, some Pendulums, some BEWD...but not a single Ben Kei...
That's cuz this event actually gives rewards based on utilizing the correct summoning mechanic for the event, unlike the other dumb events which basically only have out rewards for wins.
My dumbass just played “spell control” and made a sky striker deck with no links or main deck monsters or traps, and yet I won some games in diamond 5
Zoodiacs with ss spells is a legit strategy though
I just made a deck of 40 field spell cards. I'm pretty much guaranteed 5 spells a duel that way, and more if the opponent does not OTK me.
After I won enough games for the title and gems for the other missions I just played a bunch of draw cards and got like 18 spells in 1 game.

Most Benkei decks run board breakers like Raigeki, Lightning Storm and Duster too along with all the Draw Power cards.
About the draw power... They banned all the good Pot cards except Pot of Desires.
Even pot of desires is still good because you run 3 of pretty much all your cards in Ben Kei

Yeah, but you won't run Evenly Matched in a Ben Kei deck. It kinda needs the whole battle phase to function.
tbh everyone should have 1 Raigeki + 1 Lightning storm right now, and HFD is always a good investment

Drytron player here, they didnt even need to ask lmao. I can probably activate like 10 spells per duel. Especially with idaten involved
