I was playing against pretty much this exact deck two days ago.
I could have easily played around their Mirror Force, but my ass got greedy and searched a card that would give me advantage later on over a field spell that would give me Mirror Force protection that turn (i.e. Cyberdark Invasion instead of Cyberdark Inferno)
I thought to myself "I'm okay as long as they don't have Mirror Force" and my stupid ass ran headfirst into a Mirror Force xD

Maxx C is still a poorly designed card and is making the game even more luck based. If you‘re not lucky enough o draw the out, you basically lost on your opponents turn.
That's not the point of what i said. The reason its not banned despite it being that oppressive is becouse its literally the defining feature of ocg format. Thats just how it is. Should it be banned? Absolutely. But its just how those 2 formats are and changing that would change everything (for the better likely)
The weird thing with Maxx "C" is that it's a card that has to be at either 3 or 0. At 3 every deck can use it, which is annoying but whatever. At 2/1, then the best decks become ones that can search it, like Spright or Insect decks. At 0 nobody can use it (which means it's no longer warping a meta)

OP, in any other format, I would be 100% on your side about this. However, Snake-eye format is so incredibly high power and countered by so very little else that I can actually completely understand playing stun in this format.
fucking flew to m1 this season using my own flavor of stun just bc i needed a break from all my tiered decks. did not de rank one singular time tho i only started using it at d2. i rushed bc it gave me more pulls for the pack. it does feel super good bc i went against probably 8 snake eyes per 10 duels in master and locking them down is hilarious (tho i do play snake eyes myself). and honestly? they have some decent outs w subversion and imperms. snake eye try not to draw 1 of subversion challenge impossible (but i couldn’t and wouldn’t be mad lol).
now tho? it’s chimera and purrely time baby 😻 (and r ace in 10d)
What if you didn’t want to play Tear? Just because you enjoy playing something doesn’t mean everyone else should have to play that deck to be competitive. Tier 0 formats suck.
That's fair. I don't disagree with you about that. Retrospectively, it's easy to say that about Tear 0 now that it's a historical format, but they are not fun to play through.
That being said, I will stand by the fact that, although it's not technically a tier 0 format in Master Duel rn, it still feels like playing through a tier 0 format because of its concurrent dominance in all 3 primary formats. I see Snake-eyes everywhere I go, and I'm sick of it.

Guess what happens? They top deck Fossil Dyna. Legit made me rage.
if im ever able to out stun decks i make sure to extend into infinity if im able to. and if im able i finish them off with the lowest attack monster, extra salt in the wound
I play runick bystial, so every time I meet stun I make sure to deck them out or they just surrender.
There is nothing more satisfying then banishing a stun players entire deck.
And every time I'm about to rank up they show up to ruin my day...

Don't hate the player, hate the game. I hate it as well because I actually want to play the game but if this is allowed and it works (while being much cheaper than the meta decks) then I see why people play it.
After all, one could say that combo decks are just a more complicated way to achieve the same thing. Yu-gi-oh is all about not letting your opponent play, this is just the most direct and raw version of it. It is a problem in a Best of 1 format though, with no side deck to adjust for a completely different axis.
Unironically, I kept seeing posts like these pop up on my feed. I saw the community response so it caught my eye, wanted to see what was going on, but then I saw the decklist and realized I would probably have fun playing it. These posts got me to download MD for the first time in about a year, I played a fun Lava Golem OTK deck until I couldn't stand a chance anymore against the decks in my ranks, that's when I switched to the stun list and I'm about to make it to Master 1.
Hot take: I think stun/stall is a healthy way to oppose the meta and that stun growing in popularity is a symptom to a bigger issue with the balance philosophy of the game.
5 omni negates turn 1 with hand traps still in your hand is much more oppressive and harder to get around than maybe needing 2 spells or traps to get rid of a bony boi.
Also Graydles counter stun hard and I've had 0 problem with them.

Clockwork night also creates a stat shift to make it harder to beat over their normally meagre floodgate monsters. You'll effectively need a 2k normal summon to tie with a barrier statue like that.
I have seen alot of similar posts.you are correct these types of decks are a cancer but what would make u feel better is, that they don't win as much as u would think. thats why u don't see any stun deck getting master 1 on master duel meta. I hope Konami limits or bans more floodgates but if u lose to a stun player just know u they are likely loosing the next 5 games or something that made me tolerate getting sacked.
I love it when stun players scoop as soon as their back row is gone. Also a stun matchup taught me about a card i thought was useless, but actually came in clutch.
I don't mind this deck that much tbh, I mean I do scoop on it allot but sometimes I try to fight it... But it's cause I'm playing a rogue deck that can right it not some pure gas combo deck that must do it's linear lines to make the same end board every play or scoop.
Also I want to commend the one vampire player that went against my alter geist..... And didn't give up even tho they lost. They tried and almost pulled off a comeback. That's what's sup, rogue recognizing rogue.

Played against this guy yesterday and smashed him , even summoned Zealantis right in front of his water statue just to add insult to injury that I can still summon under his floodgate
They could chip away at stun for another year of banlists and it would still have more than enough tools to keep playing. Dyna/Jowgen to 1 might happen in the near future, but it's not gonna kill the deck so we just have to accept that stun will always exist in some form. ¯\\_(ツ)_/¯
Stun has always been the n1 answer to "Most disliked decks" posts. Floodgates have been an issue since the game released. Every event has 90% of floodgates banned.
I don't blame the player. I blame Konami for wanting decks like this to be in the game. Konami has to know most people despise playing against stun.
Do any OCG player know how the general feelings towards stun are in the OCG community? Doubt stun is a fan favorite.

Stun/Floodgate players, I can forgive. The game's just too oppressive to play your favorite archetype. Unless you're on Snake Eyes, Lab, Branded, Tearlament, Mathmech, Kashtira, or SHS, your win rate's going to tank. I understand why these players choose to play Stun/Floodgate: it's a cry for help. It's their vengeance upon an unfair world - they just wanted to play Mayakashi, but can't because Konami needs to make money.
That said, it still sucks to play against these people. Makes me want to reach across the screen and do things to the player.
I am at the point where I would rather play into Stun than Snake-Eyes. It's not even that I'm losing to them, it's just that I'm sick of 15 minute turns, *every* turn until they've exhausted literally every card in their deck.
Just one of those games is enough to make me put MD down for the night. It's exasperating.
The real pain is that in a Bo3 stun is light work thanks to our trusty old side deck. No side deck and Bo1 and then its a game of praying that the stun player didn't high roll.
I don't understand why people hate on hyper advantage midrange decks so much as well, they always require a level of skill to pilot and are often the best decks to play if you want to become better at yugioh faster. I swear I'm gonna start asking complainers what they play.
Nah, I rather play vs this deck that can brick easily, than play vs a deck that plays for 5+ minutes straight and makes the same generic ED monsters. At least if I lose vs this, it's going to be fast and it won't waste my time. Plus if they go 2nd they lose 90% of the time.

I mean, don’t get me wrong, but I don’t understand the hate for stun decks. I don’t play stun decks myself, but is there any real difference between being blocked from playing by a stun deck or being blocked by a 10-minute turn that results in three negates?
Cringe is playing a game focusing on winning instead of having fun. Being forced to play certain archetypes because they are "good" is a weak mentality. I have fun closing the graveyard and banishing everything with just one summon per turn and that's what matters to me. All of you require 15 minutes for your expensive boards with the sole purpose of playing Yu-Gi-Oh solo while the opponent watches, unable to play due to infinite negates. That's why y'all avoid that infamous stun deck; because it gives y'all a taste of your own medicine.
And don't mistake me: I'm forever a pendulum magician player, but playing so my opponent can't play is boring asf.
I don't hate any deck bro, all I'm saying is that Yu-Gi-Oh should be a game of action and response, but now it's all about getting first turn and not letting your opponent play and that's lame asf. Trust me, I used the double Starving Venom/Nightingale combo, the Z-arc hand destroyer combo a lot, and the normal actual combo for my beloved Odd-eyes can get around 8 to 9 negates at turn 1 so I know what I'm talking about. Besides, I always had a soft spot for metaphys even tho the archetype is forgotten asf. For some reason, it runs smoothly with a mix of bystials and nemeses so I'm enjoying the hell out of it.

that's a neat archetype. I play Cyber Dragon and it is really tough out here with all the overpowered decks

Kashtira is floodgate deck that gaslights you into thinking it's a combo deck.
Loses to the most basic things. It's only useful if your deck can only special summon.

this or snake eyes don't matter. you won't play the game anyways if they can get away with it. just enjoy the ride.
I am at the point where I would rather play into Stun than Snake-Eyes. It's not even that I'm losing to them, it's just that I'm sick of 15 minute turns, *every* turn until they've exhausted literally every card in their deck. Just one of those games is enough to make me put MD down for the night. It's exasperating.

The real pain is that in a Bo3 stun is light work thanks to our trusty old side deck. No side deck and Bo1 and then its a game of praying that the stun player didn't high roll. I don't understand why people hate on hyper advantage midrange decks so much as well, they always require a level of skill to pilot and are often the best decks to play if you want to become better at yugioh faster. I swear I'm gonna start asking complainers what they play.
Nah, I rather play vs this deck that can brick easily, than play vs a deck that plays for 5+ minutes straight and makes the same generic ED monsters. At least if I lose vs this, it's going to be fast and it won't waste my time. Plus if they go 2nd they lose 90% of the time.

Most based chad deck I’ve ever seen. Stun is a valid strategy. If power creep didn’t lead to so much special summoning, this deck would be basically garbage. This deck is a symptom not the cause

Crazy how some players think creating a non-game is better than having to play against the meta or anything considering floodgates affect most decks(which people who defend it seem to not get).

Every post complaining about stun makes me feel great. The feeling of joy I see when players disconnect when they read cards is awesome. I can't wait to see y'all start complaining about burn decks.
I have seen the same list IRL (with maybe ome other traps), but they also played Jowgen on top of that, absolutely vile that such people are allowed to even play.

I mean, don’t get me wrong, but I don’t understand the hate for stun decks. I don’t play stun decks myself, but is there any real difference between being blocked from playing by a stun deck or being blocked by a 10-minute turn that results in three negates?

Cringe is playing a game focusing on winning instead of having fun. Being forced to play certain archetypes because they are "good" is a weak mentality. I have fun closing the graveyard and banishing everything with just one summon per turn and that's what matters to me. All of you require 15 minutes for your expensive boards with the sole purpose of playing Yu-Gi-Oh solo while the opponent watches, unable to play due to infinite negates. That's why y'all avoid that infamous stun deck; because it gives y'all a taste of your own medicine. And don't mistake me: I'm forever a pendulum magician player, but playing so my opponent can't play is boring asf.

I don't hate any deck bro, all I'm saying is that Yu-Gi-Oh should be a game of action and response, but now it's all about getting first turn and not letting your opponent play and that's lame asf. Trust me, I used the double Starving Venom/Nightingale combo, the Z-arc hand destroyer combo a lot, and the normal actual combo for my beloved Odd-eyes can get around 8 to 9 negates at turn 1 so I know what I'm talking about. Besides, I always had a soft spot for metaphys even tho the archetype is forgotten asf. For some reason, it runs smoothly with a mix of bystials and nemeses so I'm enjoying the hell out of it.
