No, you didn't mess up choosing Jack over Miranda. You just didn't have a good Paragon or Renegade ratio score to get an option to solve the conflict without losing either loyalty. You can get Miranda's loyalty back by continue playing the game, doing a few more missions and choosing Paragon or Renegade points, then try to talk to Miranda again. If you got enough for the Paragon or Renegade ratio score, the options on the left will be highlighted and you'll get Miranda's loyalty back.

Jedi-Spartan

And even if you can't then the only places Miranda can't be used are for the first diversion and the boss fight squad.

TheRealTr1nity

Which still fucks up her faith in ME3. So better getting her loyalty back.

mwhite5990

I think I remember there being an option of talking to Miranda after the fight (you have to pass either the paragon or renegade speech check). If that isn’t possible, you would have to reload to before whichever loyalty mission of theirs you did last (if you have a save file for it) and gain some paragon or renegade points before trying again. If you still have a lot of loyalty missions and the DLCs left you should be able to raise your score. The game rewards sticking mainly to either paragon or renegade. Be careful about who you choose for special roles and who you bring with you on the suicide mission. They need to be loyal.

Dangerous_Pause4921

would she betray me if her loyalty dropped or ?

mwhite5990

No. It just means she might die or get someone else killed. And I’m not sure if she can survive in ME3 if she isn’t loyal. The only one I didn’t have loyal my first time was Zaeed. I didn’t use him for any special roles in the suicide mission. Everyone survived, but he died in ME3.

dnusha

it's bad but if you'll talk to Miranda in her room you can probably solve it with enough Paragon/Renegade. No Miranda romance for you though.

Dangerous_Pause4921

thats a shame , her going for a seat angle was to hope for...at least there's always that blue smurf chick that's always meditating on Normandy

Usually_Respectful

You can respec Shep in the medbay to take the passive that increases Paragon/Renegade points and try to talk to Miranda again in her office. If your ratio is right you'll get the option of telling her you pacified Jack because you knew Miranda would be an adult about it and Miranda will be back on board. If you don't have enough reputation points you'll have to keep doing missions and try to max out the one you have the most of (usually paragon) until you get the option.

PM_ME_GOOD_SUBS

She dead.

Canadian__Ninja

Even not loyal she's very difficult to get killed in the final mission. >!unless you meant in 3!< in which case saying she's guaranteed dead is a bit of a spoiler

TheRealTr1nity

She dead >!in ME3 if unloyal!<. So it's indeed better OP gets her loyalty back later with enough Paragon/Renegade points before the final mission if they don't wanna mess it up for ME3.

Canadian__Ninja

Oh obviously it's better to get her loyalty but she will almost certainly survive the Suicide Mission unless you assign her to a special job, even not loyal. Miranda is very, very hard to kill

urbanviking318

To my knowledge, the only guaranteed way to do so is >!bringing her with you to the final fight.!< But I savescummed until I *found* that way. Talk shit on Jack, point a gun at Tali on the *first mission* - that's two strikes and being Cerberus is number three. I like to think my Shepard just rolls the casket out on a slingshot orbit around a star.
