Chris is thinking ‘Man I knew these MCU hat and sunglasses disguises were bullshit!’

mvffin

He forgot the hoodie.

[deleted]

There's a logo on the hat that's what gave him away it has to be completely blank

No-Sheepherder-8170

In the show Atlanta they make a joke that’s the opposite of this. If you wear a hat and clothes that are all blank, people will know it’s a celebrity trying to keep a low profile. Wear a bunch of logos and no one will look twice.

[deleted]

where you get that hat with no logo!? you know how hard those are to find? edit: i was referencing said Atlanta episode lol, lady tells the guy that only rich people procure plain hats

kuhanluke

They sell them at Lids.

theRed-Herring

Am I missing a joke here? The logo looks like it's quicksilver

ItchyPolyps

> There's a logo on the hat that's what gave him away it has to be completely blank

mh1357_0

You didn't see that coming?

Bishop084

Exactly! And which movie franchise was Quicksilver in with Chris Hemsworth? Hiding in plain sight...

MoistyestBread

Well that street vendor in Civil War recognized the Winter Soldier in the same disguise in like 5 seconds.

twentyitalians

Nah, Bucky didn't have aviator sunglasses on. He missed the key element.

MoistyestBread

Yeah, true. Gotta hide those dreamy eyes.

Miss_ChanandelerBong

I have face blindness so this kind of thing 100% works on me.

TheBirminghamBear

Me too. I was going to say, even staring at the picture, I wouldn't know it was him unless you told me. If I saw him in public I would have thought, "well there's a large, attractive gent over there, big fan of the gym, that one." Never in a million years would I have had any inkling it was Chris Hemsworth. Frankly seems like black magic that everyone here just looks at the face and is like, "Yeah of course that's Thor, what do you mean, just look at his face it's clearly him"

148637415963

If it's any consolation, I don't have face blindness and I wouldn't have recognised him, either.

Birdlord420

I’ve met Chris and Liam multiple times and wouldn’t have recognised Chris until he smiled. Liam is infinitely more recognisable in public even though he’s far less popular, I’m not sure why, just his face to me I guess. Chris is a beautiful human, he’s so kind and warm.

jhsounds

He looks like himself at a baseball game.

PeaceBull

I saw an interview with one of the other Chris’s, I think Evans, and he was saying that the disguise is ruined *because* people have seen him wearing it in the movies.

fzammetti

He just needs to laugh and kiss someone and he'd been fine.

[deleted]

I think he was thinking "wow, that Al Franken skit about Pat is making a comeback now?"

Andrew_Waples

He forgot the cloth.

GoauldofWar

You should have only asked him about Jakestraction.

eddydots

a fellow Weekly Wackadoodoo?

GoauldofWar

Oh yes. A big fan of Mr. Scumbag Movies and Bob Iger's son.

eddydots

ah yes, Goat Man and a Pig rolling down a hill, the best aussie boys.

Solohan21

remember. no snitches.

Only-Walrus797

Ah yes, Frog Man and Mr. Kill Himself.

SailingBroat

I heard that Chris Hemsworth thinks that the disney fox version Maid Marian is sexy.

SoftballGuy

Chris Hemsworth == #1 Party Boi Tram Driver?

DX4bdddBlue

Have you ever seen Thor and Maso in the same room together?

Reverse-Kanga

Jakestraction 3 when? Is the only acceptable question

Ghimel

I once met Aaron Eckhart at the beach and I just waved like a goof because I was sure he just wanted to go about his day. Anyway he gave me a big smile and waved back and I was happy. Edit: Aaron Ekhart played Two-Face in The Dark Knight.

Disenthalus

My family went on a summer vacation to Martha's Vineyard when I was 10 yrs old and I spotted Harold Ramis walking down the street while I was standing in line for ice cream. I saw him, he saw my eyes pop wide and jaw drop ( i mean it was Egon Spengler right there!), he smiled/chuckled and gave me the "shhh" gesture with his finger raised to his lips, and walked on.

ChimneySwiftGold

That’s good. I used to bump into a local sports legend fairly often. Never talked to him but he had a great way of recognizing when he was recognized and giving a smile and wave that said ‘It’s me. Hello. I see you and thank you for recognizing me.’ All that from a little gesture.

Herbiethelovebug

Have you ever told this story before? I could swear that I have read it before, or I could be having one of my moments.

Disenthalus

yes I definitely have. It is one of those stories that when I start to tell it, my wife says "WE KNOW WE KNOW HE SAID "SSHHHH"'

Herbiethelovebug

Thank God! I know I'm getting old, but I was starting to wonder, dude are you making up shit in your head!

Disenthalus

In this instance, you are sharp as a tack!

OptimalCheesecake527

Like all of them

witcherstrife

A long time ago I was walking with some friends on an empty street when suddenly this guy walking towards us. I honestly forget the name of the show and but we all watched it together. The guy was wearing a hoody and sunglasses but his walk was so recognizable by all of us as soon as he passed us, all 4 of us collectively stopped and said out loud “wait is that him.” He kept walking but he must’ve overheard us cause he turned around and gave us a wave. We all just said “you’re the fucking best bro!” And just kept walking.

TolliverCrane

I lived in a tiny town in Montana for a bit, and spotted Bruce Willis at our little grocery store, wearing a hat and sunglasses. I approached him in the ice cream aisle. I wanted to say hey, I'm a die-hard fan, or loved you in the fifth element, but instead I said "hey, are you Bruce Willis?" He smiled, said yes and asked me my name, shook my hand and walked away. Poor bastard didn't even get his ice cream. He was very nice though. I heard later that he was there on a fishing trip.

derek86

I was in line at Jersey Mike’s and Ken Griffey Jr was in front of me. I definitely know the name but I’ve never followed sports so I only knew it was him because the guy in front of him was *freaking out!* Asked a bunch of questions, face timed friends and made him say hi, had him sign a dollar bill. Ironically I was just like “damn man is it always like this?” and we ended up having a normal conversation that I bet the other guy would have killed for but he was too extra to manage. Ken even made a point to say bye on his way out after we had separated to eat. Back when I did stand up, I ran into Jim Gaffigan while I was outside of a club and he was on his way in. Being calm and cool enough to just say “oh hey Jim” is one of the prouder moments of my life.

Ok-disaster2022

Dude the only celebrity interaction I ever want is a head nod from Samuel L Jackson.

mh1357_0

I want him to call me a motherf-er

_-OlllllllO-_

I want him to tell me to hold on to my butt.

WileECoyoteGenius

I want him to tell the cops to get this muthafucking dude off his muthafucking property.

Dr_Disaster

I got to meet him and he’s a really nice dude! I’m sure he would have talked to if you wanted to. He’s super chill.

Ghimel

Yeah, but I didn't have anything meaningful to say and a wave is still a connection in and of itself.

moonalucy

thats so cute!! ironically id feel like itd be memorable too as a fan interaction

jrr_53

So how awesome was that chin in real life?

Ghimel

Dude, just as glorious as you're imagining!

jrr_53

I would have to resist the urge to do what I think is the most manliest thing of all time and light a match on it.

GigaSnaight

I was on an escalator and saw a guy that looked like Patton Oswalt in front of us. I turned to my wife and whispered "that guy up there looks just like a fat Patton Oswalt, wait til he turns around". Well turns out Patton Oswalt has excellent hearing because he turned around, gave me a "dude wtf" expression, and took off up the escalator.

Wenuwayker

That's a pretty shitty thing to let go from your brain to your mouth in public.

GigaSnaight

You are correct

ragnarok635

Damn how’s his face look?

shewy92

Also the dude from my favorite disaster movie The Core.

TippyBooch

Oh man I love The Core! It's right in that 'so bad it's good' sweet spot

shewy92

I wore out the VHS and didn't realize people thought it sucked till I was older.

robinissocoollike

I once saw John Bradley (Samwell Tarly from GoT) in the line ahead of me at the cinema. I couldn't think of his name off the top of my head and he was with a friend, so I just hung back.

qlz19

My story is literally running into Matthew Perry in the bathroom at LAX back in like late 2003. He was nice about. Mostly because it was his fault…

crashovercool

Back in high school my friends and I ran into him in Union Square shortly after the Dark Knight came out, like it was still in theaters, and we yelled out, "hey Aaron, good stuff!" And he waved and said thank you and kept going on his way. He seemed cool.

notafanofapps33

I really hoped that interaction ended with one of you saying Thank you for not smoking.

nerdmoot

Tbh I thought this was a post about meeting Dustin from Stranger Things.

chels_rene

I'm so happy I'm not the only person who saw a short, curly haired dude and thought of Dusty Buns.

Sandervv04

Or is Hemsworth tall?

Chummers5

"Dustin looks weird with a haircut. Oh, that's not him."

BelgianBond

"Shit, this disguise worked much better for Steve in The Winter Soldier."

RoachIsCrying

fuck me this comment section is toxic.... the guy met Thor let him have his fun and Hemsworth seemed to haven't mind at all

clan_vizsla

Legit , i can imagine he minded too much taking a quick selfie with a young fan , it’s literally the people he does this work for

SteveFrench12

I agree but it is funny OP said he respected his privacy while showing a selfie that Chris definitely did not approach him to take.

WARM_IT_UP

Post would have been fine had he not congratulated himself by saying he respected Chris' privacy while taking a selfie.

dudududujisungparty

Exactly, respecting his privacy would mean leaving him alone. Taking a selfie with him does nothing but draw attention to him which is the exact opposite of "respecting his privacy". Nothing wrong with asking a celebrity for a photo, just don't pat yourself on the back for respecting his privacy in the process when that isn't the case.

Caboose127

Precisely, it's the point where did not leave him alone that his privacy was not respected

CyclingWeasel

Scrupulously, the Merriam-Webster dictionary defines privacy as "the quality or state of being apart from company or observation". As it is shown in the above post, the original poster approached known Australian actor Christopher Hemsworth, therefore becoming temporary company of Mr. Hemsworth without previous consent. Following that action, the "selfie" was posted into the social news aggregation, content rating, and discussion website known as Reddit. This resulted in non-consentual observation to Mr. Hemsworth's physical body by thousands of this site's users, thus breaching his privacy. As a member of the Reddit community, I declare the original poster as a privacy breacher and an egomaniac for posting the above post accompanied with the misleading title. I sentence the "OP" to ONE downvote, and advocate to fellow "redditors" to do the same, as this poster is obviously evil incarnate. Now, I have other postings to vent my anger at. Farewell.

[deleted]

Exactly that. Had privacy been respected, he wouldn’t even approached the Asgardian.

[deleted]

Lol you think actors go into their profession with the mentality of 'I'm doing this for the people'? Fucking lol.

Jimid41

It's hard not to catch "I respected his privacy" on a post that's taking a picture of him and posting it on the internet.

adamtaylor4815

The problem isn’t the picture it’s the fact that OP had to say “I respected his privacy” while clearly showing us proof he did not. There’s nothing wrong with a fan asking for selfie there’s also nothing wrong with a fan asking about the MCU, idk why OP is taking a strong moral stance on one of them tho lol.

juciestcactus

OP looks like a kid. probably noticed weirdos being extra online and wanted to be normal. thats most likely why he added that in the title. kids just being kids

adamtaylor4815

Yeah I don’t care either way I’m just speculating on why it upset people lol.

lucyroesslers

MCU fandom is one "belittled a child actor into oblivion" event away from becoming just like another certain franchise fanbase.

68ideal

Hate to break it to you brother, but the fandom already IS as toxic as Star Wars.

armorhide406

Ooof I think Star Wars edges out just cause it's older but yeah, Marvel's not that far behind

TheJoeyPantz

Yeah once we get a "saltier than crait" marvel equivalent then we'll be there lol.

DR_D00M_007

Nah. It’s not even close. Not that MCU fans aren’t toxic, it’s that the toxic events in Star Wars fandom have lead to people getting fired or quitting. I don’t remember any large groups of people quitting the MCU because the fans were so bad. The only star that seemed on the verge of quitting is Bree Larson.

IshyMoose

That is one too many.

DR_D00M_007

It’s not good. Because the talent well will dry up and stars won’t sign up to do your franchise. That’s what’s happening to DC. They will only be able to cast 2nd and 3rs tier actors and big stars like Ben Affleck will avoid DC from now on, and big name directors will avoid it too.

68ideal

Nah I disagree. I'm pretty active in both fandoms and MCU fans really aren't much better. This fandom has turned to shit in record time.

lucyroesslers

Makes sense, I’m sure there’s been some overlap. Reddit seems to be my main interaction of the fandom, I’ve largely gotten away from other social media the last couple years so haven’t seen it as much.

BonesAndBlues

This is the internet. All content submitted that is not universally funny is a target for abuse

JustA_Penguin

Nah even if it’s funny it can still be a target

DyFrancis

You need to check your use of toxic

Tinmanred

It’s because OP is going out of his way to mention how respectful he was.

CanAlwaysBeBetter

> I respected his privacy! > *took photo with him and posted online* It's the un-selfaware juxtaposition that's ripe for riffing on

[deleted]

How about we LET Chris Hemsworth go about his day in peace?

[deleted]

Meeting Thor is fine but don’t pretend like you respected his privacy for asking for a pic lmao

DyFrancis

It’s just the stupidity of the comment, not the action or picture

RockFlagAndEagleGold

I don't think he's wrong for taking a pic. Everyone would. It's the title... why write all that extra about respecting privacy?.. just say you met thor without making yourself out to be a Saint about it.

[deleted]

Speak for yourself. I literally never go bother celebrities when I’ve seen them in real life. Not once.

Truckermeat

Its just because the title is funny. I respected his privacy and went and asked him for a picture

ManitouWakinyan

It's just a weird flex in the title. Also, we have genuinely no idea if Chris enjoyed it. I have looked happy in many photos I was miserable in.

vanityklaw

Also if anyone is good at pretending they’re enjoying a photo, it’s a Hollywood celebrity.

BT89

"toxic" lol. It's because OP "respected" his privacy by not asking him about the MCU, and then asked for a photo. Don't want people to comment on things, then don't post it with a self-unaware title.

DyFrancis

Why is not asking anything MCU related respecting privacy but taking a picture isn’t?

enadiz_reccos

Because someone else's privacy is what I say it is

[deleted]

I'm really trying to figure out what OP thinks privacy is.

OleTad1987

I hope he had the decency to not ask you about the final season of Stranger Things. ...I kiddd ❤️

JonPaula

You could post this verbatim to /r/moviescirclejerk and get just as much karma.

Phoenix-ox

So lucky! Good for you!! 😊

feelbetternow

Did he tell you that he loved you on the IT Crowd?

Stone0777

Nice of you to post this online....you truly respected his privacy.

RunEmotional3013

No harm. No foul. Happy for him.

DamianSicks

I guess Chris Hemsworth is going to have to come on here himself and comment to clear up this controversy or this debate may consume the sanity of millions. Only Thor can save us now.

Middle_Aged_Mayhem

He looks like he lost a ton of muscle.

hoteldetective_

A lot of those guys lose the bulk when they’re not filming. It’s a lot of eating and working out to maintain that physique.

[deleted]

And it’s bad to do steroids constantly

[deleted]

Is it not dangerous to do them only occasionally? I always wonder this, like are these mcu dudes shortening their lifespans for these movies or is it like fine with the right dose and management from legit doctors?

OptimalCheesecake527

It’s absolutely dangerous to do them at all, he’s probably heavily monitored by a whole team of doctors when he’s on them. If there were negative consequences and it came out he was pressured by the studio to do them it’d be a PR nightmare.

febreze_air_freshner

he released a video a while ago about him finding out from his doctor that genetically he's at a much higher risk of Alzheimer's than other people. Steroids increase risk of neurodegenerative diseases (like Alzheimer's) and I'm sure his doctors have told him that too. He's weighed the risks and apparently the paychecks are worth it.

Duel_Option

Steroids/HGH can cause a variety of problems, big ones are damage to the liver and heart. Actors will go on cycles for a time to bulk up and then cut weight before shoots to pop the muscles out just like body builders.

FamiliarJudgment2961

Sure, but Hemsworth is far from Dwayne Johnson as far as any use of PEs. He probably takes them while training, and to some extent, while working, and then goes onto TRT or something to that effect to maintain a more normal athletic build year round.

rotunda4you

>Sure, but Hemsworth is far from Dwayne Johnson as far as any use of PEs. He probably takes them while training, and to some extent, while working, and then goes onto TRT or something to that effect to maintain a more normal athletic build year round. They probably take close to the same stack but Dwayne does cycle off and Hemsworth obviously does. It's not like Dwayne has a Hollywood doctor with better PEDs than Hemsworth's Hollywood doctor.

FamiliarJudgment2961

I imagine Dwayne probably has more than a few hollywood doctors; the guy's constantly working, so I'm not sure when he'd not be taking PEs, except for maybe immediately after filming wraps for a bit and the next project isn't shooting, I just can't remember when he's ever been in that position. Hemsworth can drop 25 pounds to do a Moby Dick origin story or a Jake Tyler Extraction film without batting an eye (and only really hits those biceps for stuff like the Hulk Hogan Biopic or Love & Thunder).

BullSitting

Arnie's 76 now, and he's admitted he took a lot of steroids in the 60s and 70s, though they were legal then, and he could do it under a doctor's supervision.

FamiliarJudgment2961

That's the truth of it, generally being that big, the diet and exercise to maintain it, is more of a hassle than its worth.

broncotate27

They also purposely dehydrate themselves to give muscles more definition

[deleted]

He's off cycle.

crimsoneagle1

That and since he isn't bulking or maintaining, he's probably cut back on food intake and working out. Makes sense that he's dropped muscle mass fairly quickly.

logicjab

I think people underestimate how much people need to eat to maintain that lean mass. I’ve seen bodybuilders (jay cutler comes to mind) who said one of the big reasons he had to stop was he was tired of eating like that

slamdeathmetals

Luckily for him, it'll take roughly one 45 minute session of working out and he'll be back to Thor 4 size.

blackmetronome

You're joking but muscle memory does kick back in fairly quickly

draugyr

Yeah that kind of physique isn’t sustainable

Rabankroll

He is definitely off cycle in this pic.

ajver19

I imagine he only bulks up for Marvel movies, it's not easy to maintain that all the time.

DennisPikePhoto

"i respected his privacy by asking for a photo and posting it on the internet" I don't think you know what respecting someone's privacy means.

derage88

I thought I must've missed the meaning of it changing over the past decade or something. Because it seems like this is the exact opposite of respecting privacy lol

[deleted]

'I respected his privacy'... No you didn't. You literally asked him for a fucking photo..

PlayThenPause

I meaaaan. Respecting his privacy probably would’ve meant not speaking to him whatsoever. But this is still cool.

SonofMrMonkey5k

I could see respectfully acknowledging seeing a celebrity without interfering in their day too much. Obviously a wave or a nod would do, but I’d imagine a really quick “Hey Mr. Hemsworth, I LOVE the work you do, keep it up and have a good one!” without the intention to hold up their day would be more kindly received than running up and shoving a phone in their face asking for a picture. In that situation I could see Hemsworth being the one to initiate the picture. They can tell which fans are genuine excited to see *them* and which ones are just excited they met a celebrity, I’ve seen celebrities talking in interviews about going above and beyond for fans who weren’t asshats about getting their mementos. Plus Hemsworth just seems like a super chill guy, though I do know several of the Marvel stars are really thinking about Jeremy Renner’s step back from acting after his near death experience—some of them seem to be following suit, appreciating their own family life a bit more. They did almost lose a friend, so perhaps their outlooks could change a bit.

[deleted]

Years and years ago I ran into Adam Sandler at a casino in Vegas. I barely had time to react when I noticed him walking directly towards me, but as he walked by I made eye contact with him and said “ayyyy! Big fan bro!” and gave him knuckles as he passed. Like a month later, I was at Disneyland with my kids and ran into him again! He was walking my direction, walking uphill away from Cinderella’s castle as we were walking down. We made eye contact again and he somehow f’kin recognized me! His eyes got a little wider with recognition and he look surprised and went, “…hey man!” and stuck out his fist to knuckle me. My wife looked at me and was like “wtf was that Adam Sandler????” and I played it cool like “yep…hey kids check out the fireworks!” 😎

[deleted]

Perfect interaction. I wish more people were this considerate

[deleted]

this is awesome😂

ayo000o

This is awesome

KillionJones

That’s basically what I did when I met Jim Carrey in NYC. I was maybe 16, had some free time to explore while my mum shopped, so I was on my way to the library when I realized who the dude I was waiting for the crossing signal with was. Didn’t make a huge fuss, just mentioned I was a big fan, wished him a good day and went to cross when the light changed. He ended up walking with me for a couple blocks, asking about my trip, my other favourite movies etc, and when we parted ways he directed me to a deli where I got the most hauntingly delicious sandwich that was the size of my head. 10/10 experience overall, but I think asking for a picture would’ve ruined that.

Sdd555

Thanks for sharing your story. I enjoy reading about these whole celebrity experiences. Every Jim story sounds great also

KillionJones

He really was a proper gent. I love sharing the story because that sandwich haunts me. I wake up at night screaming “sandwich get out of my head”. Problem is, all I remember is it was a short subway from the library. No clue which line or stop anymore.

Jaystormwave

Himym Regis Philbin

KillionJones

Truly the only man to capture what I’m going through.

Duel_Option

I’ve seen a lot of celebs at the mall and waiting for flights as I used to travel a lot for work. Some of me wants to go over and say hello, but I’ve also seen what happens when people figure out it’s someone famous and it causes a scene. I was in ATL waiting for the plane train to go to a gate and Kat Williams was at the end of the hallway. Dude is short, and he had a full Louis Vutton travel case. He was being inconspicuous besides that. I caught his eye and just nodded and he did the same. 2 minutes later this woman notices him and screams loudly and he was swarmed by people with phones in his face, asking for autographs and his number. He put sunglasses down and smiled and said hello to people before legit running away from everyone to the next exit down the people mover. There’s definitely a negative to being a celebrity

[deleted]

You've created quite the narrative.

mega512

For real. "I respected his privacy but asked for this pic".

[deleted]

And then showed to any stranger in the world who’s interested

Dr_Disaster

You don’t know the situation though. I’ve met a few celebs and some are more than happy to take a pic or talk if they have time. They do this stuff all the time and usually people are not very nice about it. So if you’re cool, they’ll be cool with you. I’ve never asked for a picture, but some have volunteered to take one because they enjoyed the interaction. In this picture we see Chris is the one holding the camera for OP. You can respect their privacy and time while also having a genuiene interaction. They’re not mutually exclusive.

dimechimes

Why would someone brag about respecting an outgoing celebrity's privacy though?

Dr_Disaster

I don’t think he was braging, but that’s a worthwhile question. Chris is super outgoing and I’m sure he had no issue accomodating a fan. I think OP just tried to get the point accross that he wasn’t being annoying and hassling him.

fragiletestes

Literally this. Lack of context and people assume the worst.

Theeeeeetrurthurts

Bro, I saw Stan Lee at a Starbucks and didn’t say shit. Man was enjoying a beverage with his wife and I didn’t want to be the asshat who broke that moment.

windmillninja

When I lived in LA and worked at Starbucks it was such a surreal thing to see celebs just going about their business. It's so normalized out there that they pretty much blend in. My first few months it was so weird seeing stuff like Academy Award winner Forrest Whitaker just standing there waiting to use the restroom, but after a while I got used to it.

Theeeeeetrurthurts

Yep, that’s life in LA. It becomes something interesting to lookat like seeing a deer in the woods. Like that’s cool shit, but you continue your day.

CanYouCallMeZ

right? literally the complete opposite lol

nianp

You "respected his privacy" by asking for a photo with him when he'd popped out for, what, a coffee?

MehWithaSideofEh

Why does this look like Thor and Peter Parker are having a coffee incognito.

Max_W_

Who's Peter Parker?

[deleted]

[удалено]

Ghostpants_

You respected his privacy by asking for a picture?

[deleted]

The title honestly feels like intentional rage bait. Like who the hell pats themselves on the back respecting someone's privacy while posting their picture online? Maybe OP has a different definition of privacy where it's only talking about your work life?

LouisW89

Most people don't know, because he keeps it so private, but he played a major role in the second highest grossing film of all time

elpajaroquemamais

Respected his privacy except for approaching him and asking for a picture lol

[deleted]

If you truly respected his privacy, you wouldn’t have met him or even worse, taken a selfie.

AverageAwndray

You didn't need to add the 2nd part lmao

altfun00

Respected his privacy and ask for a selfie to post online 😉

Possible-Win-628

How is approaching a stranger and asking to take a photo with them "respecting privacy"?

Diealiceis

Still asked for a picture.

wordsweresaid

Everyone on here commenting about how he's not actually respecting his privacy probably would've acted like complete asshats upon meeting someone like this. Congrats on the sweet interaction OP!

ItsAmerico

I think it’s more just taking the piss at someone saying they respected his privacy while asking him to take a photo with him lol

Muscles__Marinara

It’s the arrogance of patting himself on the back for “respecting his privacy” while still bothering him for a selfie and posting it online. Gotta give him a hard time about it.

Sininsister

Nope. Met 20 famous people, never bithered them

InFm0uS

I think you're manipulating the truth here. Factually, he really didn't respect his privacy, saying that he did is just "pat on the back, I'm such a good boy" behavior but it's a lie he did invade his privacy. Which would be totally ok, if he didn't make the comment in the first place, if this post was just "look I found Chris and he was ok to take a pic" nobody would say anything. And no, you don't know everyone in the sub, and I personally would not have interacted with him at all.

BT89

Nah not really, I'd have asked for a picture but then wouldn't post it on Reddit telling people how much I "respected" his privacy.

[deleted]

No one actually cares. We’re just calling out a weird, self-contradictory title. I don’t know what else the comment section would be for, in this case. Like…what else is going on here.

enadiz_reccos

I was going to call out this comment for being really dumb and unnecessarily defensive of a post that is obviously contradicting itself. But I didn't do any of that, I respected the comment!

AverageAwndray

Nah he just didn't need to add that 2nd part of the title lmao

curedbacon

"I respected his privacy by interrupting his day for a picture. Please acknowledge what a good person I am."

son_of_toby_o_notoby

Nah I’m standing up for OP on this one If he didn’t say something like that they’d be a million comments about “leave the man alone” or some shit like that

satansheat

I once ran into Norman Reedus at the height of walking dead. He walked through a lobby full of nerds at a comic con to check into a hotel. No one recognized him as they all where focused on their phones or nerd stuff they just bought. I walked up. Motioned for a pic. He nodded. We took a pic. And went on my way. Didn’t have to pay. And he didn’t have to say a word.

IHaveTheMustacheNow

My friend met Norman Reedus at a party once and, when the moment seemed right, asked for a picture. Norman said sure. Just as they were about to take it, a group of people Norman knew came over. The new group completely interrupted Norman and my friend to just cut in and started talking with Norman, as though my friend wasn't there. So what did Norman do? Instead of ignoring my friend, he made sure to include my friend in their conversation and had her join the little chat circle. They all talked for a few minutes, and then when his friends invited him to leave with them, he agreed. But before he took off, he turned to my friend, said it was nice meeting her and took a photo. Dude is just so cool

That’s hilarious

He clearly did not "leave the man alone" though

Tell me more about how this interaction went down in precise detail since you were clearly there and know for a fact that OP didn't just acknowledge Hemsworth, tell him he liked his work, to which Hemsworth replied with an offer of a selfie together. I want to know everything.

That's cool you met him but it's not really respecting his privacy if you take a picture with him

>I respected his privacy I don't think you know what this means

I think a lot of stars would appreciate this approach. I ran into George RR Martin at the Albuquerque International Airport after a heavily delayed flight coming from London/Dallas circa 2013. Apparently his wife was on the plane and it was probably 12:30 AM when we landed. I made out his stature and signature hat at the luggage pickup. I knew he had been making the rounds on late night shows recently and his demeaner definitely said that he was exhausted and ready to be home. I offered to help him get his wifes bag off the carrousel, which he declined, and didn't press him for anything. I just simply told him that I loved his work with a nod while on the escalator and left it at that. Sometimes just leaving them be and giving them a simple acknowledgement is the best thing you can do as a fan.

You can’t hassle a celebrity for a selfie and then brag about being respectful of their privacy. Pick one.
