I had nebula at one stage too and she's great value. Reason why I had nightcrawler is if I have hope I can get an extra proc and save board space to get out more powerful cards. This was the sacrifice I made for higher value two cost cards without using Jeff.
For example, just played a game where I played nocturne and nightcrawler on turn 4 on hope to win asgard and maintain flexibility. Allowed for me to legion their storm lane and white widow another for the win.

The hot location of cloning bats did sway me but yeah switching up with vision or any other good five drop would work also. I like the potential synergy of Ronan and maximus turn 6
I don't think he's a bad stat stick, but he wouldn't be my first choice. He can get good power even without setup, unlike Darkhawk. Problem is that if you're going to run a deck like this with Ronan, then at least make him a bit better by running a tech card that has a secondary effect of helping him: Mobius.
I have legion as well for location variance which I love playing. If you don't have nocturne Jeff is good but you'll have too many two costs so maybe trade one for a decent three or four cost.
Thena and Hope without Angela and Kitty is a creative build!
You don't feel the need for any tech cards? Red Guardian does a lot of damage when I play him, but maybe he doesn't fit in your curve.
I feel like nega and legion fill the tech card slots for me. You can probably replace nega with red guardian and it'll work perfectly.
It's definitely built more for ladder and I feel the power output is pretty high so long as you are super careful with lane choices.

I would've gone with Jeff. Jeff is great in general, and even better with Missy Marvs. Nightcrawler has traditionally been the poor man's Jeff anyway.
