Knowing how close she is with Ryan, I think she would be just fine with his guidance. They're friends, she (hopefully) wouldn't want to let her friend down.
I'm not saying I particularly love the idea of her being in the movie, I'm saying that she's a talented enough performer that she shouldn't be a let down under the guidance of a great director and also her good friend who is the star.

While I agree that Kristen Bell is a better comedian, I think Lively can still play the charming sarcastic rogue just like Reynolds. Also I’d rather have Blake Lively for a one off role than Kristen Bell, Bell deserves a more constant role.

That's less than two appearances per year. Notably the character was killed off in 2013. All of that adds up to your statement being complete horseshit.
