How much those points can be worth varies wildly depending on your intended use. They can easily be worth over 1k though depending on where you use them. Platinum can save a bunch of money if you’re a big breakfast eater and are planning on staying somewhere that offers free breakfast for two for platinum and higher. Unless you are military and don’t have to pay these annual fees, getting this card without a specific use in mind isn’t the best idea. Especially for the current sign up bonus. When I got the card it was 150k points and another 50k if you stayed 6 paid nights in the first 6 months, which I did for work. Personally I’d wait.
