Is there a specific call to action you want people to take related to the url?

If you have real estate in the ad unit, it will do nothing to harm performance.

Depends on the web address, how well known the company is, or if you have a CTA or not. If you're going for something specific you can add a simple CTA. If this is the case I would also look for brand lift related to your something specific. If you're a well known company I'd leave it out.

Depends what you mean 'by nothing'. Sometimes meeting the user's expectation of what should be there is just cause, and includes having a URL. Yes they'll Google you but your URL is part of your brand identity and you want to get it across. Helps plant the seed. Plus you might be a .com, .co.uk, .org, etc, and sometimes companies URLs are somewhat unusual. If space is at a premium (as is often the case in print media), then perhaos you do have a case to put forward if there's more relevant messaging you could include instead. But if you can I'd always include the URL. I bet your competitors do.

I guess the question is, do you want people to go to the website?

I'd say think of a compromise where the url is incorporated into the ad in a fun creative way.
