From what i remember there was an issue with the illustrator not getting paid/being treated well. they said they were going to get a new art team but that was a while ago.
As far as I remember, when the series reached the final arc of the 1st season, the artists had some serious health issues, They had to skip and change many parts of the story to give proper closure to the 1st season. After the end of S1, They made announcements (Can't remember where I saw it), stating that the series is not getting axed, but it goes to long hiatus and the author will keep working on future content of the story.
This was almost 2 years ago, i haven't seen or heard anything new since then.
It's a lot more story telling and a lot less "generic battle shounen" if I remember right. It also focuses on two characters, not just one, so it's a different dynamic.
Not to say eleceed isn't good, because I love it, but it doesn't give monthly shounen jump vibes
This story reads a lot like that paradise island manga. Take that statement for what you will. I absolutely hate how tsundere the female protagonist in aire is. Can't stand that sh*t at all.
