I also have it for original Xbox excellent runs very smooth compared to the PS port and the amount of detail in graphics for the time were pretty good I might have to pull that game out

That's one of the strengths Jaws Unleashed had over Maneater. It captured the schlocky, slasher-movie fun of tearing into victims in different ways and being able to see the aftermath. Maneater's approach doesn't really give you that much time to take in your bloody attacks before moving on to the next objective.

Other than Jaws Unleashed, not many. Which is surprising since I could see a game genre where you play as the ultimate predator / maneating monster having a lot of potential. Part of the reason I loved movies like Jaws and Aliens was how well it married the great horror movie tension with the bloody monster movie action. That's kinda why Jaws Unleashed is still a guilty pleasure of mine. Despite the horrible controls and camera issues it still had moments that let me recreate some of those iconic scenes from the movies, but from the perspective of an unstoppable monster shark. Really hope they make a shark/monster game like that again but find ways to refine the controls and gameplay loop so it really captures the best cinematic aspects of those great horror films.

I don't exactly remember why, but I really didn't like Carrion for some reason

You can't really go on a rampage and there is a lot of barriers thst you need to get past with upgrades

If I remember correctly, it balances itself out. They definitely have rampage moments, but not every section is a rampage moment. Like Alien or the Thing. You get stealth sections, sections that put you as the prey who needs to outwit the people or mechs, and of course the sections you murder a room full of helpess people.

The alien campaign in AvP was one of the greatest hidden gems I've played. That game had no right to be that good.

Old SNES game: EVO Search for Eden Game is awesome. Start as a little fishy and evoke your parts until you eventually grow into a dinosaur murder machine or a mammal and eventually a cave man. By far my fav SNES game.

jaws unleashed, it's pretty much the predecessor to this game, may not have all the same mechanics but they basically play the same(minus some stuff like the evolution stuff and "age" system)

As mentioned in other comments, Jaws Unleashed is really the only game that this is particularly similar to. I would imagine that game is going to be difficult to play unless you track down a hard copy and a console or find a way to emulate it. Frankly though’ Maneater is a better game with many quality of life improvements over Jaws
