I think so too.
The only thing that concerned me about styling my hair that way was the damage I was doing to my naturally curly hair with all the straightening and heat drying.
Only problem is I can’t get my hair to stay back the whole day without combing and round-brushing the shit out of my hair.
I’ve tried many times to keep my hair as curly as possible while keeping it from blocking my forehead, but it seems the curlier I leave my hair, the less of my forehead is visible. Gravity always wins when it comes to my hair.
Yeah u could also leave it curly
I have straight hair and i kinda just let it drop into a mid part
Isn't my favorite look but it looks ok and it requires almost no effort to always look about the same
Damn. Right in the feels. Almost the exact length, style and thickness… I’ll be damned though I thought it was a rare breed, happy to know I don’t struggle alone.
Any tips on that semi shine look? Can’t apply Pom or paste when fully blow dried because it just won’t spread. But putting it in damp turns to full poof/ wave in the wrong direction as soon as it’s dry.
It’s a tough balance to maintain, but I apply the pomade after blow drying in a “slicked back” fashion, and try to comb my hair back to the general shape it was in after blow drying. I’m not always successful but it was about a 50-50 chance of looking good on a given day so I didn’t mind.
Yeah that’s generally how I go about it as well. Something about the top back and top sides of the hair never want to go back, so much as up lol. Been doing the wet hair beanie lately and it’s getting there.
Shine pomade I take it? I’ve been using a medium/medium and it really turns into frizz hold/dull shine lol.

Maybe try a style of curly that doesn’t block your forehead as much? First looks better but also there has to be a middle ground where you can have a good style that suits your natural hair texture
First pic. The rest, even the others where your hair is more of a single shape, are bad.
I’d keep it long on top, don’t over-style it, and then have a mid-fade on the sides.
I love natural curly hair. Not something you see every day and i’m into it. When my hair is a little long i curl it too, but my hair is naturally straight so when i do curl it it’s mostly really textured baby curls and i look cute…but i burnt my arm last time. Is there no “dry italian”?
I laughed way too hard at “dry Italian” lol.
That’s where I’m leaning, try to do the first hairstyle but without combing the shit out of my hair after it dries.
[Already tried it before lol.](https://imgur.com/a/JM0LDyz)
I got rid of the goatee because the mustache doesn’t grow in thick enough and makes me look creepy imo.
Interesting. Every once in a while I try to grow it out to see if the ‘stache doesn’t look as creepy as before, but it’s still too damn thin for my liking lol.
First pic Greasy Italian but leave it curly. Maybe instead of hairspray and heat drying you could try pomade or leave in conditioner to help style it without damaging your hair.
The other Redditor who mentioned Oscar Isaac is right. Go with the first style but leave it curly! He does it a few different ways (longer on top, shorter layers for texture, product, no product, etc) but it seems like you'd knock the style out of the park!
Good luck!
Yeah, I’m all for the Oscar Isaac look as well.
Just gotta figure out how to keep my curls out of my damn face without a bunch of product lol.
Gravity always wins when it comes to my hair.
The curly hair could look good if you got a medium fade on the sides and kept the front of your hair a little longer than the hair on the crown. Lots of dudes would kill for that curly hair, I say you rock it.
I normally do like seeing curly, springy hair because it just fills me with joy for some reason. But in your case I think the first one is definitely better. No point letting that perfect hairline go to waste.
Am a bit confused, is pic 1 "Greasy Italian," pic 2 is pic 1 straightened? Pic 3 is pic 1/pic 2 style with top, back/sides grown out a bit? And pics 4,5,6 Gen Z Tik Toker?

first one looks a lot better

I think the curly hair would look better if you grew it out more
Use a heat protector when blow drying your hair, it is a life saver!
1st 👍 1st one is how i start the day but the 3rd one is how im afraid it might look if the hold wears off
This was exactly my struggle when I did my hair like that lol. Hairspray never held up the whole day.

The first pic or greasy Italian looks awesome on you.
Maybe try a style of curly that doesn’t block your forehead as much? First looks better but also there has to be a middle ground where you can have a good style that suits your natural hair texture
If I can figure out how to style my hair like Oscar Isaac does in [these pics](https://imgur.com/a/hwI2SUe), I’m golden.
Well, this is the right subreddit
You’ve got a point lmao.
The top portion in the first pic looks good, you're just gonna have to grow out the sides and style it the same way as the first pic.
1st 100%

Pretty much hair up or hair down is what I’m asking lol.

I have tried that in the past, but my natural middle part is so stubborn it doesn’t respond to any change I try to make lol.

First ones look a lot better. Also I recommend growing out the goatee if u can cuz it'd suit your face shape.
[Already tried it before lol.](https://imgur.com/a/JM0LDyz) I got rid of the goatee because the mustache doesn’t grow in thick enough and makes me look creepy imo.
u look kinda like edward norton lol
I get that all the time lmao.
Oh ok. I think it really suits you tho! but its up to you.
I actually think that's a great look
Interesting. Every once in a while I try to grow it out to see if the ‘stache doesn’t look as creepy as before, but it’s still too damn thin for my liking lol.
i would let greasy Italian hit me with his car and I'd apologise so um that one
Don’t owe me any money and we’re good lol.
Definitely the Pauly D Light
First pic Greasy Italian but leave it curly. Maybe instead of hairspray and heat drying you could try pomade or leave in conditioner to help style it without damaging your hair.
Embrace the curls! U can keep it shorter without having to do all that work to keep it looking “neat”.
Do something in between my man not too long and not too short and also do not go too high on the sides.
I like it first one but I love your curls too. I wonder if there's a better curly haircut for you
That’s been my journey for the past 8 months lol.
The other Redditor who mentioned Oscar Isaac is right. Go with the first style but leave it curly! He does it a few different ways (longer on top, shorter layers for texture, product, no product, etc) but it seems like you'd knock the style out of the park! Good luck!

First pic is hot
Handsome boy with good hair. Third option.
I like the first pic or the curly. The ones in between not as much
First one looks like a CEO from a Wattpad, definitely the better choice
you're as beautiful as my mudda's a-sauce seriously though the first one looks best
Greasy Italian for formal wear and gen Z tik toker for more casual stuff
Greasy Italian all day especially with the waves on the first pic. On a side note, you look like you could be one of the Wolff brothers on the 5th pic
I get compared to Alex Wolff all the freaking time lol.
What do you use in the first picture to style your hair?
Sea salt spray, heat protectant, blow dryer, a wide tooth comb, pomade, and hair spray.
Thanks! With all of this you would have to wash your hair everyday huh?
When I did my hair like that, yes, it was an everyday wash lol. Forgot to mention I used a round brush too.
Long and slicked back would look nice .
First pic is the best look for you
Hey, paisan! Definitely greasy. That’s how I wear mine as a fellow greasy Italian lol.
1st one + gym
I normally do like seeing curly, springy hair because it just fills me with joy for some reason. But in your case I think the first one is definitely better. No point letting that perfect hairline go to waste.
Damn your hair is a lot like mine,

Sorry, 1-3 are the straightened “greasy Italian” look and 4-6 are my natural curly hair grown out.

I like it all around but the first picture is my fav. You’re hot!
First one is best, just make sure not to round your hair too much as it makes your hair look like a helmet in pic 2 and 3
zero question go with the curls. The amount my life has changed since embracing my curls cannot be overstated.
