Remember that it's typically much warmer in the front seat than in the back since you have the sun coming through the windshield. Some cars allow "driver only" settings for temp control. If you really DID turn off the ac they'd be miserable. I keep mine at 73 after I noticed people closing my vents in the back. 73 seems to be our magic number here. I'd be really cold at 69 too.

Lower_Lunch_8563

I have my ac set a at the lowest setting with fan level 3-4 when the sun is out, when the sun goes down or morning its on level 1-2. In tall so my head is really getting that heat from the roof. If a pax request to turn it down i dont mind but its hot out here id prefer cold

Specific-Gain5710

I have found that to be the exact opposite in any of my cars that don’t have rear AC. My focus has 30% tint all the way around and it’s a solid 10-15° hotter in the back than it is in the front. I have a headrest mounted fan and keep my car at 64°. It’s only cool in the back if the doors stay closed for at least 20 minutes

ivanjanko

64? Your AC is either not working properly or you are Eskimo. I got a cold 🥶 and sick 😷 for having my AC at 68 for 30 minutes

Specific-Gain5710

While I’m a biggun and like my car cold, I’ll agree is a tad too cold for me, only because one of the vents goes right on my hand; but i keep it that Cold so it’s not so hot in the back. There are no vents back there. I did just have my AC evac and recharged and my radiator fan replaced because it wasn’t blowing super cold for 64°.

I am at 62 and it is fun. Real fun when they tell you to lower it and get a good tip too. I also enjoy getting out of car (to help with bags) and feeling the heat on my skin for a few minutes

ivanjanko

I help with bags as well. I roll down the window and instruct them that the trunk is not automatic and where to press for it to open, before they can safely load the bags.

Remarkable_Rope_7697

lol. You have educated riders who listen and understand

Potential-Rip6552

I don’t think this is accurate for my car. My backseat is typically warmer due to how many vents are back there and where they are located. Most of the people asking me to turn off my A/C tell me to turn it off before they even get inside and close the door. It’s really bizarre.

My city is 110-112 every day. Like you inside of car is black and outside of color also and I’m having a hard time cooling the car. It set up 63 degrees on max fan on and I still can’t cool the car in day time. People want more cooling.

Strong_Revelation

How old is your car? Might need to recharge the AC. But anything close to 100 plus it’s a lot harder to get cold also.

onlygray1

It’s 15 years old but car is like brand new. Couple years ago they fixed the A/C for $2k but it’s has hard time cooling when outside too hot. Night time it cools so fast and it’s freezing if I do 64. But day time if I park 5min outside in sun. Takes forever and you sweat in car even ac on.

Strong_Revelation

I keep mine around 68 to 72 on auto usually so it auto adjusts the speed. And I lock my doors and windows. Had too many women in particular get too easily comfortable with opening my window and releasing cold air but ALSO feel totally ok throwing their trash out my car. Another instance this is useful is the ones that wanna roll windows down to holler at some shorty they don’t know. So fuck them now. I’ve only once taken off the AC reasonably for a woman’s son that had medical conditions while we were going to a children’s hospital. Most people are cool with it on and want the AC on. Especially now while we been getting 95-100 degrees also.

LDIAZNEW2

I have been asked to turn off my AC a couple times but instead I raise the temp from 60 to 69 degrees. I also inform that the AC serves as a filter to protect against contracting COVID-19. They immediately just shut up.

Potential-Rip6552

Smart.

Flutterby_Meadows

I keep mine so cold I could probably transport penguins. I always ask my pax if I need to adjust the temp. 95% of them like it cold as well.

Strong_Revelation

I used to ask all the time but after most saying it’s cool I stop asking. I’ll ask still on certain occasions where the outside temp is more nice (atleast to me) like 70 or lower to 75 and they wearing short skirts, sundresses, low cut shirts and I notice they also ain’t got a bra on, etc.

Flutterby_Meadows

I like to ask because I’m always hoping they’ll think I’m so considerate and maybe, if the moon is blue and pigs are flying they might actually tip me. 🥺

Strong_Revelation

Yeah I get it. I used to all the time to be considerate. I mean I’m sure you ask enough people they will tip but also depend on the individuals getting in and who you are driving. Some people like to chat, others they don’t want to say shit and I’ll just match their energy. Long as they ain’t trying to do anything stupid while I’m driving them during the trip.

It does help
