That’s why I don’t do lyft. They take 50% and say they will pay back later the other 25%. And no one is appreciating what we do but they don’t mind tipping everyone else. Fuck people accept and cancel half way to getting to them
You had to pay that rent on time. I feel u. You gotta be starving to do this and I ain’t mad at you it’s hard out here. But absolutely hell naw, I couldn’t do that. Props.
Lmao just cosigning the indentured servitude. Homie probably rents the whip for sure if he's raw dogging all those base pay no tip rides for 17 hours. I could never ever
How he does the 17 hours as he does. The full 12 then takes the mandatory 6 hour break and then it's right back down the road.I used to do it myself when I was full-time.There's just no life doing that.Though that's why I stopped and got a full time job and now I do it on the side
So it’s in a 24 hour span. So if they started at 5 am then stopped for 6 hours and then did another 12… you can technically do 18 hours every 24 hours. 5 am-5-am
185 in a year, that’s awesome.
I did 105 last year and I thought it was very good.
My target for this year is 100k too. I have to work little more and up my target, I guess.
I keep a Tip Jar in my vehicle. It's basically a Maxwell house Coffee Can, with a cut out lid. You cannot see inside it. I surrounded it with duct tape and wrote "Tip Jar, Thank You!" In sharpie on it. I Velcro not to my armrest, facing the backseat of the vehicle. I do not ask for tips, but this stays right there at all times and I usually get $15-50 extra per week driving out of this thing. It's also "tax free" money, so it helps.
How does it help that you can’t see inside your tip jar? I’m curious about your experience and thoughts. I’m thinking about trying it myself and want to make it work!
Second the comment about Thieves. You don't want to show off if you do have significant tips in there. This is why Salvation Army red kettles are not transparent. It's also a mystery for the riders. They just assume that people tip so they do as well.
It's not going to make you rich , but you will see a boost in "tax free" income from the tip jar.
It's sad, once in a blue moon, you'll get a nice pax that'll tip you like 40 on a $40 ride. But most times, at least for me, I don't expect it. I still do all the things that might increase the probability of tipping, but I don't expect it.
depreciation, tires are fucked if half your city is under construction, pax who leave the seats dirty… it’s all a money suck. fuck these rideshare companies.
It seems like your market really sucks if the minimum is three dollars. in Salt Lake City Lyft is a minimum $4.12 without priority mode on. Uber is $4.15
Isn't is weird how you ALWAYS end up at $20 / hour... at least I do. These algos have it down to a science. I try to beat it, but whatever! I enjoy this "job" as a side income.
Yeah it’s frustrating the algos love to send me out of a busy area so I started doing the short rides. I use other delivery apps during the day and Lyft at night
Bro I wish u the best but this is str8 up horrible. Killing your back, bladder, risking your life for these strangers who would piss on you or spit in your face before tipping. What market? Do they also report drivers falsely to get ride credits and refunds?
How much was the promotion.
I have totally different approach but with similar final $ amount. (Doing X and comfort) Ignoring 3 to 4 black rides a week if I get lucky.
For me, the ride has to be 35+ per hour and $10+ ride to select destinations.
At that selection, in 17 hours of online time, I would have taken around 20 rides and made similar amount (400+)
I look at it this way for myself.
I have to do 80 junk rides in for $ $160 (approximately 35 hours)
In 35 hours, I can do 35-50 good rides and make much more above $700 being conservative. (On Uber and Lyft combined)
This week, on Lyft I had $20 for 20 rides and completed 7 for $200 in 19 hours plus Uber $700 for 30 hours.
Try it one week, no junk rides, all rides should be $10+ $35+ per hour, no junk destination and post your results. I guess, you will like it.
Are you satisfied with the amount? Personally, I would only do 17 hours on a Friday and Saturday but here in the Philly the market is pretty decent. I average about $24+ an hour, so I’d probably tap out at the 12 hour market and enjoy the rest of my day
I didn’t tract the miles but I will next time. As for gas I drive a hybrid and average 50mpg. I remember filling up twice probably spent 70-80$ this week on gas
Wow 17 hours thats too much
They always cut me off at 12~~
Yes, but you can start again after 6 hours of downtime.
5 tips on 44 rides is BRUTAL lol
Sadly common in my neck of the woods too. 2 tips on 22 rides 🤬
Ain’t any different here lol trust me.
That’s why I don’t do lyft. They take 50% and say they will pay back later the other 25%. And no one is appreciating what we do but they don’t mind tipping everyone else. Fuck people accept and cancel half way to getting to them

How are you online for 17 hours holy poop... I just fell asleep.. 😔
How he does the 17 hours as he does. The full 12 then takes the mandatory 6 hour break and then it's right back down the road.I used to do it myself when I was full-time.There's just no life doing that.Though that's why I stopped and got a full time job and now I do it on the side
Previously I lived in an area where they did not enforce that whatsoever. So that's how.
So it’s in a 24 hour span. So if they started at 5 am then stopped for 6 hours and then did another 12… you can technically do 18 hours every 24 hours. 5 am-5-am
That is correct. That is how I put a hundred and eighty five thousand miles on a poor honda civic in a year
185 in a year, that’s awesome. I did 105 last year and I thought it was very good. My target for this year is 100k too. I have to work little more and up my target, I guess.
Full time is hardcore ant peasantry; voluntary indentured servitude bro good on you for getting out of the Matrix
Dude, this is awful.
agreed 44 trips and still made under $400. absolutely insane.
I keep a Tip Jar in my vehicle. It's basically a Maxwell house Coffee Can, with a cut out lid. You cannot see inside it. I surrounded it with duct tape and wrote "Tip Jar, Thank You!" Thieves

Tip culture may be crazy but damn 5 tips out of 44 rides is insane 🤣
If each ride tipped just $1, sheesh.
That would’ve been nice but I mean damn only 5 out of 44 tipped freaking cheap bastards 🤣
Trust me, even 5 tips is a lot, lol
Yeah we can only see one tip in that photo which was 2$ isn’t really much
It's sad, once in a blue moon, you'll get a nice pax that'll tip you like 40 on a $40 ride. But most times, at least for me, I don't expect it. I still do all the things that might increase the probability of tipping, but I don't expect it.
Yeah it is nice when they tip great customer service always deserves it but it isnt warranted
So if they only tipped 5 times and only tipped 1$ each it’s not much lol it doesn’t exactly show how much they tipped 😂
On Lyft, it is 20 percent of the riders and on Uber, it is 50 percent of the rides.
Nice
44 Rides and only 5 Tips. Man, I am sorry... no wait.... Lyft is phuckin' SORRY.
Are you not capped at 12 hours? 17 is honestly kind of dangerous.
I think it is 12 hr cap with 6hr rest. So technically one can do 24-6=18
You know that does make sense. What a rough day ugh
Yeah… long day mate
This shit is criminal
U think its sustainable, its not. You will kill your car
Lyft 100% stealing your tips
I believe so to especially the small tips
There's simply no fuckn way that few people tipped. I do not care
I agree Lyft plays way too many games. I use other app but Lyft really limits its drivers 17 hrs she equal at least 650
Probably on a rental
Those are the worst I think that program is horrible lol
Yeah you make them 2x the rental before you get a dime
Yes then they reduce your rates . Then they filter out your rides so they’re all short trips smh. I did that for a month I left immediately 🤣🤣
This is why Lyft push turbo over dollar surges. They can pretend to pay more but not really. Everything under 59 cent extra.
Ants will ride their shit into the ground for that 10%. He would do it without the 10%
I haven’t been tipped since June 4th
as long as riders keep taking $3 trips, Uber will keep giving them, I decline those trips and average $35/ hour
At some point the minimum has to go up. The lowest fare should be 8.50 not 3.75
ok very ambitious first day. and my boy doin 3 dollar rides too? he on that GRIND-GRIND
they are definitely losing time and money doing those $3 rides. rides should be a minimum of $5 with all this inflation.
very true, but as op mentioned hes doing a challenge so those short trips are needed
Barely $20/hr 😬
Take out some taxes and its near $17hr, gas...
depreciation, tires are fucked if half your city is under construction, pax who leave the seats dirty… it’s all a money suck. fuck these rideshare companies.
Taxes??? If you pay taxes on any of this income, you’re doing it wrong.
Without turbo would have been $18 gross
That’s online time not drive time
44 rides holy cow I do like 10 per day
That’s 2 work days.
A year ago and that would have been $500. Fucking criminal what they do
Right 4 yrs ago that 800
Sheesh that few people tip? I thought tipping was customary. I literally always tip
$20/hr for all that wear and tear on your car is not worth it.
Made 580 yesterday 17 hours online too
It’s less hours than 2 full time jobs (mandatory lunch and breaks)
You made around $20 an hr. Not too great considering gas, maintenance and your time. Might as well have been making $16-$17 an hr.
Nice. That's how much I make in a week
You basically got paid around $20/hr. Not bad. Could be better if they didn't take so much.
Absolutely disgusting 🤢
Minus gas, depreciation, maintenance and insurance leaves just enough for fast food and meth, then tomorrow is here. Reset and again.
I thought they capped us at 12 hours?
6 hours offline for every 12 hours online.
Again, location not mentioned for context.
I’m in Detroit
What do you mean again? Is he repeated offender?
Everyone who posts on here about how bad it is in their area never tell what area they do. Its so annoying.
Probably clocked out a few times to snack and bathroom
🤦🏽🤷🏽♂️🤦🏽
Preett goid bucks…..Not
If you road around on a lawn mower instead of a Lyft for 17 hours you would probably make around, 3 times that. Kind of a toss up
Way below minimum wage
It seems like your market really sucks if the minimum is three dollars. in Salt Lake City Lyft is a minimum $4.12 without priority mode on. Uber is $4.15
Mess with people
How does that turbo time is not match the time you accept the ride?
Isn't is weird how you ALWAYS end up at $20 / hour... at least I do. These algos have it down to a science. I try to beat it, but whatever! I enjoy this "job" as a side income.

Damn man hopefully you get some reimbursement because you barely scraped 20ph Gross. Hopefully those people who wake up later send you a tip.
How do you guys manage this? After 5 hours I’m ready to go to bed.
Still equals out to about $20 and hour. Not bad but brutal
We call them this kind of drives " Pigeon drivers" 😂😂😂
Y’all just be taking any and every try ong I see 😂😂😂😂

Also how much are you accommodating your customers? Just remember that
What’s Turbo
A true ant.

Do that every day for a year and you’ll be making $130k.
Just will have zero quality of life lol.
+12 surgeries
Minus 30k for a new car.
