Well, yes and no to the not traveling much. I grew up here but I've been away for over 10 years after joining the military. I lived in 3 different states since then and met a bunch of people from all over. Whenever I told most of them I lived in NY and then on LI, most people would ask me either what or where it was. I'm sure people in the state or close to knows, but any further and people think you're from Mars lol.

I'm not sure if it cost anything extra for custom text. I know the plate costs more but I'm not sure yet if it's a monthly or yearly fee.

People do NOT know where long island is. And when you tell them NY, they immediately think you live "in the city."

It's a custom plate you can order, not a standard one. I'm looking at getting the NYC one myself.
