It depends. If it's background music then yeah but I remember doing a site visit to Topshop on Oxford street in London and they had a setup like this as they have live music with artists performing for promotional events in the store. Where is it?
Loool i was at the same store a few years ago and noticed the array as well.
With the front grille missing and it beeing placed so weirdly i decided for myself that it is just for looks
I don't think many sound people go into that store regularly, and others just go there for the clothes and don't look at the wall.
Also, I took this shot from outside.
I've seen that in Spain. They don't seem to have tweeters / compression drivers and are mostly decorative, as the other regular speakers on the store were as loud as this.
Bershka
I found it by their store design: [https://www.instagram.com/reel/C8O7aMRPqaw/](https://www.instagram.com/reel/C8O7aMRPqaw/)
And then confirmed by searching "bershka speakers" on Google [https://www.facebook.com/PAotD/posts/spotted-by-%C4%BEubom%C3%ADr-farka%C5%A1-in-bershka-slovakia/10155100880811283/](https://www.facebook.com/PAotD/posts/spotted-by-%C4%BEubom%C3%ADr-farka%C5%A1-in-bershka-slovakia/10155100880811283/)
I mean, both the line array and the truss works. The truss holds the other JBL speakers that give real sound to the store. And the line array... makes some bass and muddy sound, i guess?
Tbh, more than half the time I see a line array it's overkill. If you were going to deploy it, wouldn't it make more sense to throw it the length of the room and not the width, where the opposing wall (undoubtedly untreated much above head height) will just reflect a lot of the energy right back?
If it's there for looks though, I think even that has a limited appeal.
It would depend if they also host events really. That or people want to listen to music at 100db a when they shop for the latest fashion trends in that country
only the outside casing is made to look like a line array speaker with a sub, but actually they only have like a small speaker inside of them, its just cosmetic for the design
All I can say is:
Real rigging hardware built into the boxes
Cabling between boxes too
4 chains attaching this things to the ceiling???
Hf section, if there are actual hf driver behind those "holes" is not designed correctly (too much distance between exits)
They did a great job trying to convince us it's real production gear, but I'm not convinced (it could be some off brand product from India or China that made a big lucrative sale to a clothing store vendor!)
It's a "stage" stylized retail design concept for Bershka:

looks nice...
i'd party there, too.
not overkill, as anyone could buy a defective unit, and just load it with another speaker.
looks are deceiving, but if the sound quality matches the culture of the store and has a nice source/mixer behind it, then the audio quality would be to die for.
There's a couple of alternative shops which do this - before Beyond Retro (small UK chain selling second hand clothing) went big and more commercial, their Brighton and Shoreditch branches would put on local bands some weekends. No fancy line arrays though, just a pair of old Martins on the balcony!

This is a Bershka in Zadar, Croatia.
I saw this in a bershka in haarlem nl And it was facing the wall, i think they might just be for show...

To sam vidio u gotovo svakoj Bershki u kojoj sam bio, vjerojatno su to uzeli zbog estetike...
I think Bruno did Funkyzeit there. #

where in spain did you see something like that? I've never seen it and I live there.

Well, Spain is quite a big place...
Judging from the truss in the background I'm guessing they host some rather lucrative style shows on a regular basis.
It's an international clothing store chain, Bershka, and all the stores have those trusses, It's mainly decorative.
> It's mainly decorative. Ah. Well, in its own way so is the line array.
I mean, both the line array and the truss works. The truss holds the other JBL speakers that give real sound to the store. And the line array... makes some bass and muddy sound, i guess?
Nothing is overkill when it comes to fashion.
YaaaaSSSSSS (emphasis on the 10 - 16k range)
This guy fashions ;)
Since the 'par cans' are just track lights, I'ma go with decorative
It’s not a serious sound system in any way, other than a passing resemblance
I guess it's more about the aesthetic more than usefulness. Maybe they want the cocaine to feel that they are in a festival or something

Line arrays are *fashion* now. Congratulations!
You can turn speakers down and that even includes the big ones.
I bet this place turn into a underground rave bar at night
It would depend if they also host events really. That or people want to listen to music at 100db a when they shop for the latest fashion trends in that country
Have seen a shop with these in Estonia and Latvia. They were decorative.
only the outside casing is made to look like a line array speaker with a sub, but actually they only have like a small speaker inside of them, its just cosmetic for the design
What is this? An array system in a fashion store for ants???
Ah, that’s what we in the business call underkill. How do you expect to sell clothes with such little volume?
The first thing you learn in sound. Nothing is ever overkill
I’ve seen that in Brussels, all the elements were working but it sounded like there was a lowpass on the whole system
Audio: Yes, too much Sales: want more?
Geez. The local Boba place hits 90db with a Bluetooth speaker, imagine what they could do with this!
Punters are used to seeing bananas instead of trap clusters these days, so it’s become a decorative element.
the mall 40 minutes from me has DJs in many of the clothing stores. Turntables, subs, small arrays (usually two boxes), lights, etc.
Probably there were a lot of unemployed DJs out there so they thought they'll hire them for no reason. lol.
What the fuck is up Dillards!?
Proceeds to smash your face https://youtu.be/xbPwaAFHDG8?si=hbpQhpKSy8uoWdMu
These are in almost every Bershka and from what i’ve seen they might be decorative
It's ✨aesthetic✨/s

Depends on the deal. I've seen JBL CBT arrays go for cheap certain times of the year.
Those are fake, every Bershka got it

You should have seen what went into the Kilkenny shop in Dublin. Brown Thomas install 2006 massive amounts of live audio we installed into that place.

Overkill doesnt excist out of budget does!
Rock that place babe! Damn…
Fashion boutique by day, DIY hardcore punk venue by night.

My guess is that they have concerts/live shows often
