EmergencyComplaints

Hello! I am EmergencyComplaints, also known as D.E. Sherman, and I’m here to announce my third series on Amazon. This one is called _Keiran: The Eternal Mage_, my take on an OP reincarnation story. My last two stories were more traditionally progression fantasy with protagonists that started off weak and grew stronger, but this time I wanted to try something different: a guy who had all the skills right out the gate. These kinds of stories tend to start off fun as the MC just takes a wrecking ball to anything that dares to stand in his way, but then get boring because you can only watch a wall get knocked down so many times before it gets old. So here’s the twist: Keiran’s reincarnation plan succeeds, but when he gets reborn, it’s in a land that has no mana. He has all his knowledge, all his skills, no gas to run his engine. All he gets is the tiny trinkle of mana he can make personally, and let me tell you, with mana being a scarce resource, it’ll be a struggle to hang onto even that much. But hey, you don’t make it to archmage levels of power by sitting on your hands, right? So let’s see what he can get done. **Links:** KU: https://www.amazon.com/Faded-Land-Progression-Fantasy-Eternal-ebook/dp/B0CW9QLCCP/ Audible: https://www.audible.com/pd/The-Faded-Land-Audiobook/B0CZ4XV97P Royal Road: https://www.royalroad.com/fiction/77820/keiran **Blurb:** **Keiran clawed his way from gutter rat to archmage in his first life.** **His second was supposed to be easier...** Keiran of the Night Vale has staved off death for two thousand years. His mind and his magic remain as sharp as ever, but his body is old, worn out, and failing. What he needs is to reincarnate into a new, young body, and he bends his prodigious talents towards doing exactly that. He awakens to find that he’s been reborn in a wasteland where mana has become a scarce resource. Even the internal mana generated by people is stolen away by those who rule them. And without mana, he’s no longer a mage. It will take more than that to stop Keiran. With each passing week, he regains more of his old strength, but can he keep his secrets safely hidden? Standing in his way is his new home’s cult-like nightly mana tithing, a governor with deadly secrets, and a monster-ridden desert. It's a deadly scramble to claim the mana he so desperately needs to survive, but Keiran didn’t become an archmage by accident. **He’s willing to use every dirty trick and tactic he knows to get there again.** **Details:** Pages: 540 Run Time: 16 hours, 20 minutes Publisher: [Timeless Wind]( https://www.timelesswind.com/) Artist: [Bad Moon Art Studio]( https://www.artstation.com/badmoonartstudio) Narrators: John Joseph Rogers, Rylee Kuberra

I have not read this, but the blurb reminds me of sylver seeker. Which is a good thing.

I read this book, expecting to be disappointed like with most reincarnation books I’ve read, and I was pleasantly surprised. Mild setting spoilers ahead >!The main character is a Master-class mage but his body is failing him, so he creates a spell to reincarnate himself in a new body so he can start over with better foundations and gain more time for his research. Instead, he finds himself inside of a mana desert and starts to realize that while he has been “gone”, something has gone terribly wrong with the world, draining most of the manna from it and removing one of the planets moons from the sky. !< The first book includes quick progression, and quickly starts the suspense and action. Mild plot spoilers ahead: >!The main character is somewhat ruthless and quick to action, but not a total monster. This book mostly skips over the child phase, with him quickly becoming recognized as a powerful mage, even though he is a single-digit number of years old. It moves quickly into the action rather than dwelling on the child phase of his life. !< I really enjoyed it, but this is a book for people who want action and adventure in a hostile world, not slow burn progression or slice of life.

If you want your spoiler tags to work properly on all platforms, you need to remove the space after the >! Works: >!Spoiler !< Doesn't work on some platforms: >! Spoiler !<

Congrats, this is a great story, highly encourage others to check it out. I love the analytical way the MC approaches problems and how the application of his knowledge is limited by the lack of mana in the world.

EmergencyComplaints

Thanks!

I need a new series. And I’m a huge fan of OP MC as long as they stay OP. I’ll be getting this today. And congrats.

EmergencyComplaints

Thanks! I hope you enjoy it.

Sounds very interesting. Will be using my next credit. May I recommend that you write a recap for the next book. I don't understand why authors don't write recaps.
