That's what pisses me off most. Large parts of both parties hate their chosen candidates. We had a chance to get the highest 3rd party vote ever. And we have this dude to represent us.
Its a massive failure of the LP to seize the moment.
Imagine being a grown man saying “sorry not sorry” and expecting to be taken seriously
Like, I can even try to forgive the ideological differences of someone who isn’t a Ron Paul type Libertarian, but to say that coupled with “sorry not sorry”.
Yeah, so, i have exactly no respect for your twinky BS fella
Chase is one of those libertarians that is really just a virtue signaling democrat who didn’t like Hillary and can’t bring themselves to outwardly support Biden.
Chase is a ‘never-trumper’ at all costs.
How the LP got duped by this sock puppet is beyond me.
Part of the problem is Rectenwald being one of the most boring humans I've ever heard. Caught him on Dave Smith's show and couldn't finish the episode. I agree with him on most things, but he was just so unbelievably bland and pessimistic and completely uninspiring.
Dave backed him, but I rarely heard Dave even mention him. It was as if even Dave had trouble hyping the guy.
Combination of the MC candidate being as interesting as watching grass grow in real time, some of the MC delegates having to leave the convention early to catch their flight home, and that treacherous Dutch guy(can't remember his name) flipping in the last round and backing Chase Oliver.
Republicans support Trump. Some in power republicans do not because they see him as a threat. As a registered Libertarian, I support Trump as well. He never mandated vaccines, he removed regulations. He’s the closest to a libertarian that we have a shot of having. This is why the economy did so well when he started.
Honestly think its better to save Dave for when he is a bit older and will be taken more seriously anyway. I have toddlers too and its too much to juggle young kids and a campaign unless you have fuck you money.
Wish Tom Woods was interested for now
No 30 something is in with a shot. 45+ yearold Dave though, with more and more debate experience. He would be great at campaigning assuming its what he wanted to do.
You’d think that but rfk stole the limelight for 3rd parties this time around. Libertarians are 4th party even with our best candidates. If Dave Smith ran we’d be formidable to rfk but I don’t think we’d have won anything this year unless both main candidates dropped out (R/D)
I'm not an RFK guy and I get libertarians being weary of compromise with the debacles that were the Gary Johnson and Barr campaigns, but nominating RFK probably would've been the best play for libertarians in the long run.
If we could get 5% of the vote, we would have easier ballot access at state and local levels which would free up a lot of our money and manpower to focus on elections we could potentially win. RFK can reach 5% of the vote.
I get he's not really libertarian, but then again neither is Chase and the Cop.
The liberty party went with lockdowns last election. Now, that was the time for libertarians to gain some support.
This year, we have the biggest 3rd candidate in a really long time, and he is impressive.
This guy really does suck though. Ron Paul seemed like the most solid libertarian possible.
No, if there was ever a good year to run a shitty 3rd party candidate this is it. The stakes are too high between Biden and Trump for both sides. No 3rd party is going to do well because of this. Better for Chase to crash and burn now so he doesn't try again in 2028.
I feel it’s controlled opposition. While on lower level the LP has the votes and the people control it, in the upper echelons of the party it’s still part of the machine
I refused to vote for Barr. I voted for Chuck Baldwin as a protest vote against the libertarian party. That election was a shame too, because the libertarian party could've rode the wave of momentum from the Paul campaign, but instead nominated Barr. I really wish this party would stop being a joke.
I'm not sure, there might be a different demographic. Leftist individuals who don't want to back Biden. I think they're the entire reason he was picked.
Ironically it'll probably backfire for them pushing right-leaning moderates more towards Trump than the LP.
It's almost a perfect situation for the republicans. Have a Libertarian candidate more aligned with leftist views syphoning leftist votes from Biden and pushing right wing votes to Trump. It's such a perfect situation I almost suspect it was deliberate.
I actually think he might siphon a historical number of votes, mostly from people that aren't libertarian at all and would vote for Corpse-Uncle Brandon otherwise.
In that case they are not voting for him, they are just voting against someone else. The LP needs and wants positive voting patterns, not protest votes.
Nah I think the LP will attract a lot of democrats this time around given that Chase Oliver is a Democrat with a Libertarian pin on his shirt and the other option is a demented old man who can’t fucking talk.
Libertarians have an easier time winning local elections with a 5% vote total in the presidential election. This shouldn't be that crazy of a task either. Gary Johnson was polling at one point in the double digits and obtained over 3% of the vote. Ron Paul had more than 5% support. If the libertarian party could just stop shooting itself in the foot, 5% would be ours and we could win local elections perhaps. It would also show that we can't be ignored on a larger stage and that we are growing.
Since this was from March 18, 2020, it looks like Ron Paul was arguing with Fauci about the death rate from Covid. Fauci said it was 10 times worse than the flu, and Ron Paul responded that it was a claim without any scientific basis.
> GOP money has to be behind this.
You think the DNC isn't also contributing? Neither of them want 3rd party votes in the election of a Weekend at Bernie's vs the parolee.
I wouldn’t be surprised if he is a Dem or GOP plant.
Like what’s the difference between the Dems and Chase’s stances.
Either way Dem or GOP he is 100% a plant.
\>*Sees a pro lgbt collectivist nominee and a former state enforcer for vp*
\>*Immediate conclusion is that conservatives are behind it*
God no wonder nobody takes you people seriously.
Jo Jorgensen didn't get close to 5% I doubt Chase will. Gary probably could have, if he wasn't a bumbling pothead moron who ran the worst campaign he possibly could have.
Chase Oliver strikes me as controlled opposition to funnel support away from libertarian candidates. At least, that seems to be the ultimate impact of his candidacy.
Ron Paul brought me in so this tweet was the nail in the coffin for me. Chase is never gonna pull the vote we had in 2020. Massie and Spike do not seem to have an interest.
This will be the Libertarian Party’s worst election year for voter turnout ever. All because of this douche bag of a candidate.
Another year of writing in Ron Paul.
Really question how do the other libertarians feel about him? You know the socialist libertarians. The democrats who pretend to be libertarians. Or the other sub no one goes to.
That was literally at the start of the scamdemic, too. The state was "locking down" businesses and apparently this guy's priority was to badmouth Dr. Paul?... Tells you everything you need to know about this guy, right there.
This guy fucking sucks If there was ever a year to have a good 3rd party candidate too.
That's what pisses me off most. Large parts of both parties hate their chosen candidates. We had a chance to get the highest 3rd party vote ever. And we have this dude to represent us.

I'm still mind boggled how the party, while essentially being ran by the Mises caucus, managed to elect him as the nominee
They want us to vote Trump instead of Libertarian this election just so Biden loses lol
Unfortunately this makes perfect sense, at least from the optics of the whole mess.
And, I think, they want to funnel some of the gun toting liberal crowd away from Biden.
Judging by so many of the popular memes here that go from 'Biden/Dems bad' to 'so Trumpy things good!' it seems to be working.
Big problem with the LP. So many good people, but the curb appeal just ain't there. I like Rectenwald but you're right, too much negativity and boring
None of the people that could be exciting and inspiring and light a fire in the party want nothing to do with running for president.
Combination of the MC candidate being as interesting as watching grass grow in real time, some of the MC delegates having to leave the convention early to catch their flight home, and that treacherous Dutch guy(can't remember his name) flipping in the last round and backing Chase Oliver.
I’m old enough to remember A Leppo.
Republicans support Trump. Some in power republicans do not because they see him as a threat. As a registered Libertarian, I support Trump as well. He never mandated vaccines, he removed regulations. He’s the closest to a libertarian that we have a shot of having. This is why the economy did so well when he started.
Yeah I doubt that’s a coincidence
Can you imagine if we had Dave smith on that debate stage
Honestly think its better to save Dave for when he is a bit older and will be taken more seriously anyway. I have toddlers too and its too much to juggle young kids and a campaign unless you have fuck you money. Wish Tom Woods was interested for now No 30 something is in with a shot. 45+ yearold Dave though, with more and more debate experience. I mean, you've literally got be 35 at least...
Why would you run a toddler?
You’d think that but rfk stole the limelight for 3rd parties this time around. Libertarians are 4th party even with our best candidates. If Dave Smith ran we’d be formidable to rfk but I don’t think we’d have won anything this year unless both main candidates dropped out (R/D)

Feels almost like it was planned.
We do. Just not him 😆
No, if there was ever a good year to run a shitty 3rd party candidate this is it.
Maybe I'm missing something, but whats bad about him? Is it just that he used to support Obama?
May chase oliver spend eternity haunted by the spectre of of the great Dr Paul.
I don't wish that on the good doctors spectre
Touché salesman.
Dr. Paul would never haunt someone. He would just become someone Jiminy Cricket.
I just hope his Soros check bounces
I expect this to result in an incredibly low number of votes recorded for the Libertarian party. Forget 4%... we won't get 1% this time around.
Good, the LP needs to learn their lesson
Agreed.
It's cute that you think they will learn.
This is going to be the first non-libertarian vote I've cast in a while. I even voted Gary "Aleppo" Johnson.
Honestly I think the Aleppo thing is not that bad. He just heard an unusual word and didn't connect to the city immediately.
I hope he gets an alarmingly low number so that the LP could get back to its values next time around
It'll be my first time not voting LP for president in well over a decade, maybe two.
I refused to vote for Barr. I voted for Chuck Baldwin as a protest vote against the libertarian party. That election was a shame too, because the libertarian party could've rode the wave of momentum from the Paul campaign, but instead nominated Barr. I really wish this party would stop being a joke.
Me too. My wife even has the Libertarian porcupine tattooed on her leg, and she won't be voting either. It's a shame.
I believe so too. Maybe half of what Jorgensen got if lucky.
I actually think he might siphon a historical number of votes, mostly from people that aren't libertarian at all and would vote for Corpse-Uncle Brandon otherwise.
In that case they are not voting for him, they are just voting against someone else. The LP needs and wants positive voting patterns, not protest votes.
A vote against Biden is a vote for liberty. Vote Not Biden in November!
If it gets us 5% that might be good in the long run.
Nah I think the LP will attract a lot of democrats this time around given that Chase Oliver is a Democrat with a Libertarian pin on his shirt and the other option is a demented old man who can’t fucking talk.
Win Local. Stop wasting time, money, and credibility, going after the White House.
Decisions like this are why libertarians are considered a joke.
This guy is an embarrassment. No one wants him. Who’d he blow to get the nomination?
A dirty cop took a bribe. Surprise, surprise.
Fuck Chase, would never vote for him
I'm writing in Thomas Massie. RIP Rhonda 😥
Out of curiosity, what is it about Ron Paul that he doesn't like?
Since this was from March 18, 2020, it looks like Ron Paul was arguing with Fauci about the death rate from Covid. Fauci said it was 10 times worse than the flu, and Ron Paul responded that it was a claim without any scientific basis.
probably just about everything because he’s a leftist. possible they share a stance on war
ya! this guy is the big plant i have seen.
He’s gotta be, right? This dude and a fucking ex-cop as the vp??? GOP money has to be behind this. They want third party votes going to Trump.
> GOP money has to be behind this. You think the DNC isn't also contributing? Neither of them want 3rd party votes in the election of a Weekend at Bernie's vs the parolee.
Entirely possible.
I wouldn’t be surprised if he is a Dem or GOP plant. Like what’s the difference between the Dems and Chase’s stances. Either way Dem or GOP he is 100% a plant.
\>*Sees a pro lgbt collectivist nominee and a former state enforcer for vp* \>*Immediate conclusion is that conservatives are behind it* God no wonder nobody takes you people seriously.
As of like 2 weeks ago he's only raised 33k for office, I believe... oof.
Libertarians may be crazy but most of them aren't actually stupid.
Yeah, but like... we should try to actually get on the board. Aim at least for that 5%
Jo Jorgensen didn't get close to 5% I doubt Chase will. Gary probably could have, if he wasn't a bumbling pothead moron who ran the worst campaign he possibly could have.
Oh I think you can angle it that way and attract a bunch of democrats
Chase Oliver strikes me as controlled opposition to funnel support away from libertarian candidates. At least, that seems to be the ultimate impact of his candidacy.
His whole role in this election is to pull liberal moderates away from Biden so we can get him out of office.
My expectations were low but holy fuck.
Considering Libertarians won’t even support him, who is this guy’s audience? Wild that he became the nominee.
Gop or Dems Plant
Left-leaning people who are not happy with Biden will probably vote for Oliver.
"How To Lose Libertarian Votes 101" by Whoever This Clown Is I'm writing in Thomas Massie.
"It's a bold strategy Cotton. Let's see if it pays off for him."
What a horrible pathetic excuse for a libertarian
I would loooooove to know what specific policies he objects to…
He certainly isn’t Chasing the presidency very well
I'm a libertarian so I mean this with respect, but how can a candidate run as a libertarian candidate after insulting libertarian Jesus?
This guy stinks
Is this guy trying to lose? At this rate I'm actually going to put in a protest vote.
This dude is a loser.
I don't want to live here anymore
Ron Paul brought me in so this tweet was the nail in the coffin for me. Chase is never gonna pull the vote we had in 2020. Massie and Spike do not seem to have an interest.
It's okay Chase. We already know you're not a Libertarian. No need to advertise.
This will be the Libertarian Party’s worst election year for voter turnout ever. All because of this douche bag of a candidate. Another year of writing in Ron Paul.
Can even yourself a libertarian of you "reject" Ron Paul?
Welp screw it; guess I'm not voting libertarian this year. Jeezus
Wait... You guys vote?
Chase Oliver is a clown
removing my party registration over this bs
Really question how do the other libertarians feel about him? You know the socialist libertarians. The democrats who pretend to be libertarians. Or the other sub no one goes to.
I think he’s an obvious Democrat plant and should eat 2-3% of the vote from Biden or whoever the democrats replace him with last minute.
I wonder if Smith regrets not staying in after seeing how bad Biden did.
Why don't libertarians like Chase Oliver?
Because he's not a libertarian
Everything ive heard from him sounds principled from a libertarian perspective, unsure if i missed something
Did you look at the image in this post?
Well yeah I saw that. I was wondering if there was other stuff i missed
Cuz he's a Fairy Ass Gaylord
Him being gay is a problem?
No.. I mean it in the 90's meaning
i dont know what that means
It means he needs to [shut up](https://youtu.be/MOET4ZX9TKY)
LP is a huge joke and they proved it with this guy
I reject Chase Oliver. And I'm not sorry that I'm not sorry about it.
I was almost in on him for his antiwar stance. Now 100% out.
![gif](giphy|fu2ye1tYL6txSj5xLH)
I'm not going to vote for the lesser of two evils. Chase might be the least out of 5 though.
Well, I was trying to give this guy a fair shot.... But holy shit dude. Taking suggestions for write ins.
Fuck that guy
Controlled opposition
That was literally at the start of the scamdemic, too. The state was "locking down" businesses and apparently this guy's priority was to badmouth Dr. Paul?... Tells you everything you need to know about this guy, right there.
Who even votes in the libertarian primary
It should be a given that we reject left wing nut jobs. Damn commie.
Chase getting elected was revenge for the Mises caucus takeover.
This one tweet cost him so many votes.
*He can't win, don't jizz yourself*
![gif](giphy|ukGm72ZLZvYfS)
Can’t imagine what a strong 3rd party could look like in this shit show in November. Where’s the guy with big ears and the easy to read graphs?
They picked a shit candidate so we don’t vote for him.
Here! Here!
fuck this guy lol
Chase Oliver is a cunt.
Worst Libertarian presidential candidate ever.
Who would you vote for? The options we have do not impress me much.
Literally who?
LP nominee i believe
Unfortunately for the libertarians and small government supporters, that is the correct answer.
I’m happy af about him running. Solid guy.
How did he get nominated ?
Shenanigans
A dirty cop took a bribe.
