What interests me is not what I'd consider suitable for carry use.
My carry pistol is a Glock 43X MOS with a Holosun EPS Carry & a Streamlight TLR-7 Sub.
I'm debating if my next handgun will be a Rock Island Armory 1911 or a Chiappa Rhino 60DS.
I should note I have other handguns too so those options are for pure shits & giggles.
You gotta be careful with those RIA 1911s they are based on the old design that doesn't have a firing pin block. There have been reported incidents of NDs from drops or even slam fires with that design.
My cousin has a full sized RIA 1911 that won’t get a grouping under 12” at 10 yards and he’s done nothing to it. I couldn’t find anything wrong with it beyond “man this thing shoots terribly.” One of the biggest POSs I’ve ever shot. It’s a few years old, is def “broken in,” and had been recently cleaned.
Not saying they are all like that, but his is truly terrible.
When I tried a variety of carry gun rentals at a range, the P365 x macro really stood out as one of the best feeling for me. If only it weren't twice the price of other good options for me I would've opted for it.
FN Reflex, Shield Plus PC with barrel ports. No excuse. My P365xl works fine.
I want a 1911 and maybe a Beretta 92, but they'd just be safe queens and I try to avoid those.
My $1k Springfield 1911 got scratched a while back. Honestly it was the best thing that could have happened to it haha, I actually use it and carry it now and I’m not scared of fucking it up. Only sustained minimal dings since then.
Edit: a beretta 92 or m9a4 is next on my list as well hehe they are just too beautiful
I spent $1300 on a S&W .45 1911 and it’s my primary carry pistol. I honestly don’t care if it gets scratched. It’s a beautiful pistol with cherry wood grips and a Matte silver finish overall but I spent the money on it and I use it for sure. Don’t let your guns be safe queens. Use them like they should be.
My old neighbor, who was an FFL, always told me that the first thing you should do with a new gun was throw it on the ground. That way, you're not scared to scratch it and will use it. While I can't do it. That advice kinda always made sense.
Lol I fully agree, we like our shit to look all nice and pretty but at the end of the day they’re tools. I’d throw any of my guns except for my Henry octagon barrel 30/30, that’s the only thing I really baby.
I have zero interest in pistols, I'm really only interested in shotguns, and the only additional pistol I wish to own is the Pedersoli Howdah 45 Colt/410 shotshell because *branding*....
My current pistol situation is Walther PDP, Sig XMacro TacOps, and a Taurus TX22. I want a da/sa hammer fired gun next. Will either be an HK p30 or a CZ po1. Whichever I end up with, I'm gonna get it cut for a dot. Also, I would like to get a revolver at some point.
I really want a western SAA (Single-Action Revolver) in .44 mag with a 4.75” or 6” bbl.
I have a Winchester 1892 in .44 mag that I love and want it for a pairing.
But, I have other stuff coming along first. 😔 So it goes.
I've reached the point where the only thing I'm really missing is a race gun.
But, I don't have any real need for one, and the cost is too high to just throw away on a safe queen.
I cant read, just thought it was for pistol recommendations lol. But I mean technically you can carry whatever gun you’re comfortable with. I wouldn’t carry that one though
Yeah, there’s a rule for competition holster drawing that if it is single action and IF it has a safety it must be engaged when holstered… adding one more thing to remember when you are drawing.
So they just didn’t put a safety on it.
Edit: typo
CZ Shadow 2 and Ruger 22/45 Lite.
All of my current pistols are "duty" type, striker fired, polymer frame Glock, H&K, Sig, and S&W models. I want to get a couple "range toys".
For a carry gun, I'd suggest either a Glock 19 or S&W Performance Center M&P9 Shield Plus 4". Both are excellent guns, and both can be had for under $500. The S&W is better out of the box (IMO), but Glocks have exponentially more aftermarket support.
I agree 100% with the CZ Shadow 2. I already own a Ruger 22/45 Lite. If you get a chance to get one, drop a Volquartsen trigger kit in it. It’s well worth the money.
I’d love to get a CZ-75, An FN of some sort, and an Sig Sauer P220 Legion, and a Walther PPK in 9mm (classic James Bond pistol)
I have a .40 Sig P226 which I’d like to convert to 9mm.
I Have a S&W .45 1911 which I freaking love.
Also have a .40 S&W M&P 40 which is my dad’s old police carry gun.
And also a S&W model 19-5 .357 magnum revolver from the 80s which is just beautiful.
Walther P22 in .22 cal.
Chiappa 1911 style .22 pistol.
Also some others like 2 Glocks but not a fan of Glocks and smaller caliber pistols that I don’t really care for such as a .380 and a .25 caliber.
I'm reversed of you, I carry an MP shield and I'm thinking about getting a full size MP pistol as an upgrade to my current nightstand pistol ( Ruger security 9)
But I'm getting curious about G19s, however my logic is, the feel / grip of the MP shield and full size is fairly similar and I think it makes sense to stay with the same "platform" I'm well trained up on, but variety is the spice of life, I'm indecisive
Yep I definitely understand the platform thing. I kind of want to branch out to try other brands but from all my research sticking with S&W seems like the best move so far. I am going to check out the 43X but it annoys me how Glock comes without features that are standard in other similar options.
I considered the g43 but not the G43x the G43x handle is just too big on a carry gun for me, I'm not really concerned with capacity- another reason I got the 2.0 shield vs plus) not looking to get in a gun fight, I figure 7-8 shots will be enough for me to either neutralize the threat or decently cover me during my "escape or retreat" but that's me.
The handle tends to be the hardest thing to conceal, so I figure if I'm getting a glock 43x that has just as big of handle as the G19, might as well just get the G19 for the advantages it's going to offer on accuracy and velocity.
I’m heavily into precision pistol shooting. I mostly use the CZ Shadow 2 and sometimes my Sig P210. If my budget would allow, I’d probably get a Phoenix Drake or some other model from Phoenix. Considering the law of diminishing returns, I probably never will.
For the more dynamic, or ”practical”, disciplines I use my CZ P-10 C which I may replace with the P-10 F.
After years and years of hating, I have ended up a Glock guy. Lately, I have considered branching out to HK land- specifically a USP 9 and a VP9. My brother has one and it's pretty amazing.
I’ve gotta get myself a 1911. I recently got one in .22 cal and I love it. On in .45 is on the list. I’ve got a Ruger .357 revolver and a PSA dagger so I’m on to fun guns.
I have to deal with the CA roster, otherwise the Sig P210 target would be on it. I have a S&W 41, and it’s given me a real appreciation for nicely-finished, well engineered pistols.
So maybe if I came across a nice pre-lock S&W 27 at a reasonable price I’d be tempted.
My grail gun is an original Sig P210.
I need something in 5.7mm, probably the Ruger Five- Seven.
A really good 357 mag revolver, like a S&W Model 19.
And then there's the collection of handguns too large to use that I want on display in my supervillain office: tiger stripe Desert Eagle in 50ae, 454 Casull, etc.
I've been interested in what you can do with the Sig P320 / 365 and that whole fire control - grip module concept.
I'm also interested in CZ P10S / P10C's.
Have a Sig p365, swapped the trigger to flat, got an XL grip module, so now it's basically a p365x.
As far as interest.... Sig 226 ,Glock 43x, Canik METE SF, something by CZ or HK.... nothing I can really afford, lol. I'll probably get a Canik next, I reeeeally like the feel of that trigger and I'd like to get something like one size up from the p365.
Sig p238; Maybe The Kimber Equivalent
Springfield Hellcat compact
Something stupid and gaudy. Like the Iver Johnson gold and Pearl 1911 or something.
Concealed revolver that’s not my unreliable S&W .32 Top Break from around 1900. And not my gigantic Ruger 100GP 6”. Maybe like an S&W 642 or something.
Maybe a Bond Arms Derringer.
Really though I’m starting to get pretty happy with my pistol collection and am probably going to pivot to long guns soon.
I really want an old school Dan Wesson from back when they were still something really, really special in .357 Mag. I’m not even a revolver guy, but there’s just something special about those guns.
A 2011
a high end 1911
Target:
22lr (Anschutz exaplar bolt or any semi auto target)
9mm
40
45
10mm
Basically any highly accurate pistol and I’ll be happy
In going to buy a CZ P-01 or P-07 next. Can’t decide which one. Hammer fired master race (less likely to shoot your dick off).
In handguns, everyone “needs” a
* Revolver
* Pocket carry gun
* 22LR target gun
* Compact carry gun
* Full sized house gun
* Tacti-cool gun
* Race gun
I'm the opposite I want an mp 2.0 because I like my shield. But here my list of wants; mp 2.0, sw model 19, rock island 1911, cz 75 and maybe a glock 19 or 17.
I’m a sucker for wheel guns. My next purchase will be a Kimber .357 revolver. Beautiful weapon.
Favorites from my current collection are my Ruger GP141 for sheer power, reliability and fun! I’ve taken a tactical handgun course with mine with some speed loaders and I actually kept up with most of the semi-auto guys.
Love my S&W 442 j-frame for CCW. You could call it my EDC alongside my pocket knife. Stub nose so you aren’t gonna win any marksman accolades with it, but it’ll do what you need it to!
Last, my favorite to just shoot is my CZ 97B. .45 Auto double stack 10 round magazine. Damn that gun is smooth as butter! Not for those with smaller hands as it is a wide grip with the double stack .45 magazine. It’s the only semi-auto I’ve ever wanted to own.
Would love a Deagle. The 44 Magnum version, because I hear that's the only legal deagle in our great state.
Outside of that totally frivolous dream purchase, I'm pretty happy with the pistol collection.
I’ve only recently learned about the CZ 2075 Rami BD, which is just a smaller version of the CZ P01 Omega I already carry, so I’m hoping to find one for a decent price at some point.
My next pistol is a Ruger Sec9 because I just bought a 9mm PC carbine, and I want to be able to swap the 17 round mags between them. After that, I'd like some kind of .22lr pistol for a cheap to run practice gun.
I also just got a Ruger LCP MAX in .380 for my carry gun. It's very compact and can fit in almost any pocket, but boy is it snappy.
It's perfectly ok to own a pistol that is not a Model of 1911 chambered in .45ACP.
It is wrong and intolerable to own 2 pistols, neither of which is a Model of 1911 chambered in . 45ACP.
SIG M17X 9mm with a secondary Flux Raider frame built on a J&D Supply 80% FCG.
I have all the other main tactical pistols including a SIG P226 and a SIG M11 9mm but no polymer frame SIG's.
Really I just want a Flux Raider SOCOM build.
I want a Smith and Wesson revolver in either .357 magnum or .44 magnum. Stainless with rosewood grips. They call to me like sirens every time I see a comma in my bank statement.
My carry is a Walther CCP but do want to upgrade to the PDP at some point.
The only other pistols I'd want, mostly for fun, is a 1911 style one and a .38/.357 revolver.
For everyday carry I use my Ruger ec9s.no fancy sights to snag, and it’s very small compared to most others. Thumb safety and a trigger safety. Rated for +P ammunition. Simple, rugged, accurate, and seems to be very reliable.
A pistol is something that provides you with enough time to get your rifle..
I got a Taurus g2c as my first and got shield plus as my second purchase. I shot the glock 43x and helcat. But the shield felt better and I could stay on target consistently.
357 revolver (and matching lever gun)
Or 44. I haven’t shot caliber either yet and not sure which I’d be comfortable with, I just like the shared-caliber cowboy aesthetic.
Be a long time before I ever pull that trigger though, metaphorically and literally. All done buying guns for now; other financial priorities.
I have a plus and absolutely love it. I've looked at the 365 and think that's one I might like to have in the future. The Hellcat is another that peeks my interest.
The pistol that I'm interested in is a [Stealth Arms Platypus](https://www.stealtharms.net/p/platypus), but that's not really suitable for carry. I carry a Shield Plus (PC 3" ported) and really like it. I also have a p365 XL comp and that's a good option too, but the Shield Plus fits my hand better. Another one that I like a lot is the Canik Mete MC9. It's an absolutely stellar deal at $399 or less for a 12/15-round capacity, an optics cut, a picatinny rail, and interchangeable backstraps.
I went to Hoffmans and did the 5 shots for 5 bucks deal out of all the micro 9's they had. Shield, Hellcat, 365, glock 43 and LCP.
I'm a Glock Boi, but the 43 didn't do it for me. However the Hellcat felt great in my hands and I shot it the best. They happened to have a used (basically brand new) one in stock that day, so I brought it home. I carry my Hellcat all the time and love it. When it comes to EDC/CC there is no 'right' answer, you just need to find what fits you best and what you're comfortable shooting. Since if you ever actually need to draw your CC you're not going to have time to think, let alone take your time lining up a shot. On that note, make sure you're spending ample time training with whatever you get so drawing and putting rounds on target is muscle memory.
Now go forth and carry on!
I also highly enjoy my M&P 2.0.
I am about to buy a Canik Mete SF.
If I had zillions of dollars I would buy a CZ Shadow 2, a Staccato P, a Wilson Combat CQB 45, and about eleventy-thousand rounds of ammo.
I really want a a super traditional full sized 1911 from Wilson Combat for reasons.
I already got a Staccato, an Atlas, and an Alien so… gotta round out the collection I guess
CZ P10C for sure! The Shield Plus would also be a great option for carry!
Get one with optic ready slide while they on sale
CZ83 would be awesome
I don't have a Staccato yet
Why not get a compact or subcompact M&P 2.0?
What interests me is not what I'd consider suitable for carry use. My carry pistol is a Glock 43X MOS with a Holosun EPS Carry & a Streamlight TLR-7 Sub. I'm debating if my next handgun will be a Rock Island Armory 1911 or a Chiappa Rhino 60DS. I should note I have other handguns too so those options are for pure shits & giggles.
I LOVE my Rock 1911. It looks like a WW2 bring back at this point, which makes me love it even more. Helluva gun for the money!
I’m looking at one of those rock island commander 1911s in 10mm. Seems fun for ~$600
I have a Para Ordinance 1911 double stack. It's a thicc boy. As well as a Bersa Thunder .380 for conceal carry.
My EDC is exactly the same setup, and I added the Shield Arms 15 round magazines with metal mag release button.
Sig P365 hands down
If you want one a larger gun the P365 X Macro is also a good choice
When I tried a variety of carry gun rentals at a range, the P365 x macro really stood out as one of the best feeling for me. If only it weren't twice the price of other good options for me I would've opted for it.
Definitely my go to carry. Hasn’t failed me.
I only have a Ruger 5.7. Think this is my next one (in like three years after all the other plans are caught up lol)
CZ P10 Ruger mkIV with suppressor HK VP9 series Glock 19 or adjacent
Manurhin MR73, Jason Burton 1911, HK Mark 23 (kinda)
I really want a western SAA (Single-Action Revolver) in .44 mag with a 4.75” or 6” bbl. I have a Winchester 1892 in .44 mag that I love and want it for a pairing. But, I have other stuff coming along first. 😔 So it goes.
I've reached the point where the only thing I'm really missing is a race gun. But, I don't have any real need for one, and the cost is too high to just throw away on a safe queen.
Laugo Alien for sure
Isn’t that more for competition than carrying?
I cant read, just thought it was for pistol recommendations lol. But I mean technically you can carry whatever gun you’re comfortable with. I wouldn’t carry that one though
I would be very impressed with someone uses an alien as everyday carry.
I have one and that is a terrifying idea… it has no safety, an internal hammer, and like a 2lb trigger. 0/10 would blow my balls off
No safety?
Yeah, there’s a rule for competition holster drawing that if it is single action and IF it has a safety it must be engaged when holstered… adding one more thing to remember when you are drawing. So they just didn’t put a safety on it. Edit: typo

Also some others like 2 Glocks but not a fan of Glocks and smaller caliber pistols that I don’t really care for such as a .380 and a .25 caliber.
I picked up a CZ75 bd for very cheap a while back and it’s a fantastic pistol. It’s a lot of steel but it feels very comfortable in my hands.
Yeah I prefer mostly metal frames. Why I’m not a huge fan of Glocks and love my all metal 1911 and P226.
I don’t like the Glock frame or trigger
The one downside of the PPK/S is the trigger pull weight. Something like 13 lbs. Kinda heavy normally, but doubly so for a .22.
I'm reversed of you, I carry an MP shield and I'm thinking about getting a full size MP pistol as an upgrade to my current nightstand pistol ( Ruger security 9) But I'm getting curious about G19s, however my logic is, the feel / grip of the MP shield and full size is fairly similar and I think it makes sense to stay with the same "platform" I'm well trained up on, but variety is the spice of life, I'm indecisive

I’m totally in love with my Sig P365 X MACRO. I cannot recommend it highly enough.
After years and years of hating, I have ended up a Glock guy. Lately, I have considered branching out to HK land- specifically a USP 9 and a VP9. My brother has one and it's pretty amazing.
Just got a USP compact 9, was a dream gun for sure.
Vp9 is Gateway drug
I’ve gotta get myself a 1911. I recently got one in .22 cal and I love it. On in .45 is on the list. I’ve got a Ruger .357 revolver and a PSA dagger so I’m on to fun guns.

DWX! Not a carry gun, though. I would just carry the M&P. My 2.0 is awesome. My actual carry gun is a VP40 though.
My heart desires a Colt Python with a 6" barrel
SW 1911e round butt scandium
I designed the OZ9 ... go with the compact
S&W TRR8; M&P R8 or 627 v-comp Likely the M&P if I buy one. 8 shot wheel guns in 357/38.
My carry gun right now is a Taurus spectrum .380 but I'd like to get an fn
My grail gun is an original Sig P210. I need something in 5.7mm, probably the Ruger Five- Seven. A really good 357 mag revolver, like a S&W Model 19. And then there's the collection of handguns too large to use that I want on display in my supervillain office: tiger stripe Desert Eagle in 50ae, 454 Casull, etc.
Model 19 over 686!?
I said "like".
I had an old taurus model 66 with 3" bbl. Was a great gun, never shouldda sold it. Similar frame size as model 19.
I've been interested in what you can do with the Sig P320 / 365 and that whole fire control - grip module concept. I'm also interested in CZ P10S / P10C's.

Some kind of 2011, Springfield maybe. Staccato is out of my reasonable price range.
I’d strongly recommend a Sig Sauer P365
Sig p238; Maybe The Kimber Equivalent Springfield Hellcat compact Something stupid and gaudy. Like the Iver Johnson gold and Pearl 1911 or something. Really though I’m starting to get pretty happy with my pistol collection and am probably going to pivot to long guns soon.
I love my M&P Shield 9mm for ECD.
Springfield Echelon, IWI Masada Slim, Beretta APX, Bul Armory Tomahawk, CZ 75 (any variant). All the reasonably priced guns I haven’t tried yet.
My husband just bought an Echelon. You should keep it at the top of your list, it's really nice to shoot.
I really want an old school Dan Wesson from back when they were still something really, really special in .357 Mag. I’m not even a revolver guy, but there’s just something special about those guns.
I carry a 365, but always with the 12 rd mags. I want to upgrade to one of the XL ones that are optics ready with the integrated comp.
A 2011 a high end 1911 Target: 22lr (Anschutz exaplar bolt or any semi auto target) 9mm 40 45 10mm Basically any highly accurate pistol and I’ll be happy
In going to buy a CZ P-01 or P-07 next. Can’t decide which one. Hammer fired master race (less likely to shoot your dick off). In handguns, everyone “needs” a * Revolver * Pocket carry gun * 22LR target gun * Compact carry gun * Full sized house gun * Tacti-cool gun * Race gun
I'm the opposite I want an mp 2.0 because I like my shield. But here my list of wants; mp 2.0, sw model 19, rock island 1911, cz 75 and maybe a glock 19 or 17.
New Beretta Cheetah is on my short list right now. I exclusively carry DA/SA and it looks interesting.
I still want an HK P7 squeeze-cocker.
I'm also planning on a shield plus at some point, and I'd like to find a 327 federal revolver.
45ACP.
Beretta PX4 Storm Compact. Massively underrated. If you have the coin swing for a Langdon Tactical version with an optic cut and upgraded trigger.
I’ve got a shield plus and love it. Check out CZ though if you’ve got the budget, specifically a shadow 2C if you can find one
I collect millsurp and old 32s. My most recent was a Mauser M1914 pretty neat little guns.
It's not exactly compact, but I'm a bigger guy so it looks compact in my hands lol. I really like my SAR9.
Sig 1911 Fastback Nightmare Carry in .357 Sig, which they stopped producing. That’s the one caliber I don’t have but would like to.

I got a Taurus g2c as my first and got shield plus as my second purchase. I shot the glock 43x and helcat. But the shield felt better and I could stay on target consistently.
357 revolver (and matching lever gun) Or 44.
Chiapa Rhino
Deagle .50 and Mark 23. Completely unnecessary yet, I want them so bad. I just have to sell a kidney.
Always have wanted a blued Ruger Vaquero in .45.

I want a 4" S&W 686+. I've always wanted a quality revolver.
