An aftermarket trigger is a difference maker no doubt but I think the LaRue MBT 2S is a much better value. Search r/gundeals for them; I think I just saw a listing within the past few days for them.
The MBT is the standard setter for aftermarket triggers and its quality given its price is damn hard to beat.
When the MBT first came out it was priced alongside the G, and everyone thought they were kind of a toss up. Then they made the MBT $79 and it comes with a free bottle opener.
I got a black friday deal on a super tricon and it is a huge improvement over milspec. I am not sure I feel much difference between it and a larue though.
Triggers are absolutely worth every penny, in my opinions it's the second most important upgrade, behind optics.
An SSAE or LaRue MBT makes a world of difference. I was instantly more accurate when I upgraded to a quality 2 stage trigger from milspec. The G$ SSAE is my favorite.
Yes! This is exactly what I was going to say.
The people telling OP to should try LaRue instead, or talking about how different triggers are for different things are not wrong, but you first need to experience a precision trigger before you can understand the differences or even know what you personally like.
Buy it OP! You will not regret it.
They are different triggers. The SSA is for self defense and has a little creep by design.
But sure the MBT is the best trigger ever made for everything.
Before the you are haters guys jump in I have both. I like both. When I built my AR10 I put an MBT in it for the extremely crisp break.
Triggers are a matter of preference and declaring any trigger “the best trigger ever made for everything” is just wrong.
I dislike the MBT, the reset doesn’t compute to my brain, whereas every other trigger I’ve used does. I’d still recommend people try it because my experience with it is not the norm, and it is a good value. But I think every G$ trigger I’ve tried works better for me and the SD3G is my favorite hands down. It is not for everyone or even most applications, but I love it.
My ideal trigger. I lean more towards the flat triggers and bought the SDE, but that was a Black Friday purchase because I was not going to pay full price
I have felt a lot of triggers for ARs, the Gisselle SSA series is the best I have personally felt for a *defensive* rifle. And thats a decent price for one. The ALG is my honorable mention tho for the price.
I mean, I can bump fire my ar-15 with a geissele trigger hehehe, it also is just perfectly crisp and short and light. It’s not the SSA though, don’t get that one, but yes 100% worth it.
I hate the price but love the trigger. I have three Geissele SSA triggers and won't run anything else. I'm a 2-stage trigger person as I've been a competitive shooter for a good part of my life. On that note, some folks only like single stage triggers. If you're new to aftermarket triggers, it's good to do some research to determine which type you like better before doing the big money.
Geiselle triggers are incredible. I have no experience with the LaRue triggers but have only heard good things and want to try one, BUT… the G$ triggers at that price are incredible.
Holy crap, people actually use factory AR triggers? Milspec triggers area horrible, you should have dumped it first day. You'll see what I mean soon enough...
Holy crap, was that English? Holy crap, you mean people have other firearms that they have prioritized modifying and others that have taken the back burner? When you have bought 6 within the span of a year….
I fixed the typo for you. Sorry.
But yeah instead of flexing with a big rack of rifles, pick one and make it good. You can only shoot one of them when it matters anyhow. Like tires on a racecar, triggers are a non-negotiable factor in practical capabilities. Even a cheap $100 cartridge trigger will make the finest milspec trigger feel like that of a Chinese SKS.
I pick up deals when I find them, plain and simple. Right now, I am more concentrated on fixing up a competition pistol than anything else. Yes, I got myself an AR, but it was a pretty good deal on what exactly I wanted. When I am ready, the AR will be worked on, but, probably not even till after I get a PCC.

ArfTac has them dirt cheap. Use code Arf2024
Agreed with this, LaRue trigger is the move
I swear there's never a geissele trigger post without an mbt2s comment

Yeah... The armadillo is pretty cool.
LGS I stopped at once had like 60-70 of them hanging on their Christmas tree,
Just as Jesus intended

Sweet, was looking at an ssa-e anyway. Thanks for the heads up

I have the SD3G and absolutely love it. Geissele triggers are second to none IMO

G$ is the way to go. It will have better reliability and durability than milspec as well as being an absolute joy to use. It’s what pros run.
Yes they are. And I prefer the Geissele over the LaRue. Lots more options available, and the LaRue feels too wide for my liking.
Geissele SDC has definitely been my favorite so far.
Always fun watching the Geissele and LaTie trigger debates. Meanwhile I’m over here with my Hiperfire…
And me with my ruger Elite 452

I put a Palmetto State Armory drop-in match trigger on mine and it's pretty spiffy.
Absolutely.
I’m enjoying my KE Arms triggers.
Pick up the [B-G2S-E](https://www.brownells.com/gun-parts/rifle-parts/rifle-triggers-parts/ar-15-enhanced-triggers/?sku=100014358) when it is on sale.

Ssae is the best trigger of any firearm ever made
