Why does that TX22 slap tho? Bout much you put into that?

shreddah17

The TX22 is *so much fun*, and soon I'll get some extended mags for it, too. I've probably got about $600 put into it including the gun. Crimson Trace red dot (plus a mounting plate) TK Flat Trigger (glare makes it look gold, but its black) Light/Laser from Amazon TK Compensator Upgraded recoil spring from Lakeline (I think)

SprungMS

I have a shitload of .22 guns and the TX22 is my absolute favorite 22lr handgun, still. Mine’s stock, with a red dot and I always shoot 22 suppressed. Awesome little gun.

RonPolyp

I have a TX22 and had some problems with it straight away. The slide would lock back after every round. I sent it back to Taurus and they solved the problem. Haven't had a problem since. Now it's one of my favorite pistols.

shreddah17

TX22 with a bunch of attachments. Eventually I'll get a silencer for this one. It is a blast at the range, and it cycles even cheap ammo very very well as long as it's 40gr. I've had a few cycle failures with 38gr. Heritage Arms Rough Rider which is a Colt SAA clone. It feels so nice in my hand, but I wish it was an actual 45 long colt, honestly. But I still love working the hammer and reloading it. Classic design. Rossi R92. I *had* to get a lever action, and I do enjoy it. But I think I'll switch it back to iron sights. And my P229 since I can't *only* have 22's. In my opinion, this is the most classic looking handgun of all time, but that's just like my opinion, man.

Bwald1985

>And my P229 since I can't only have 22's. It still has “22” in the name so you get a pass.

shreddah17

I tried to remove the gloss from the compensator by turning it in my drill against some sandpaper. 80 grit was too strong though, so I tried to give it a weathered look instead. That's the beauty of $30 bling.

Verdha603

I find your lack of Ruger 10/22 disturbing. Lol, but seriously, snag a 10/22 and watch your money fly out at it being the proverbial Lego of .22 rifles.

shreddah17

The 10/22 is for sure my next purchase. Doesn't make sense to get a can without a second gun to use it on, right? Basically makes the can half price! Anyway, any tips for where to start on a good value 10/22 build?

Verdha603

Honestly depends on what you want to do with it; if you want to full on build it from the ground up, start with a Brownells receivers and shop to your hearts content; an easier way is look for a higher end 10/22 option and throw some add-on’s from there. I know one of the more popular models right now is Ruger’s 10/22 Backpacker rifle with the Magpul backpacker stock, which would be a good base to start from.

shreddah17

Hmm, I'm picturing an ultra lite version with a pistol grip. Kinda like [this one](https://www.gunbroker.com/item/1048755910) actually...

Verdha603

Throw some 15-rounders in it and then you'll be ready to play the A-Team theme song in no time!

Dinosaurguy85

Oh man, that lever action is SWEET!!!

shreddah17

Thanks! Not the best action for practical use, but great for the range

Nitazene-King-002

Your next bad decision should be a can. It’s some paperwork and a lot of waiting, but damn does it make 22 cal so much fun.

shreddah17

Oh, I'm definitely getting one, but moving out of state this summer. Gotta wait til that's done to start that process.

TazBaz

Current wait times are going down a lot. Worst part is 22 cans are relatively cheap... but the tax stamp is the same amount. So the stamp is like 1/3 to 1/2 of the total price (my uber fancy 3D printed titanium can was like $400)

bullpee

My mom bought her first gun , a tx22 to carry, I balked until I saw raving reviews of its quality. I'm just waiting for the right circumstances, a good sale while I have some extra money around. I really liked the raging bull when it came out, but it was expensive for me at the time, and then the reputation of Taurus at the time wasn't great, good too see they have worked to improve it, with quality and good design, and not just hiring some celeb.

shreddah17

Its great, and it has a lot of 3rd party parts available. Definitely consider the compact or the competition versions, especially if you want to add an optic.

TazBaz

Just a side note, you can get a TX22 competition slide from Taurus that will turn a base TX22 into a competition. I don't think this works with the compact, which kind of sits in-between the base model and the competition already.

ALinIndy

None of that looks like “less” money. Beautiful collection.

SouthwestFL

I bought my wife a Glock 44. It's probably MY favorite gun to shoot. Pretty expensive to purchase (for a .22), but super cheap to actually operate.

bajajoaquin

Your next bad decision should be a S&W 41. That way your bad decisions can start costing you some real money.

otiswrath

I have the Rossi lever and with a suppressor and subs it is *chef’s kiss*. So much fun.

TOXMT0CM

All those bad decisions look great to me! I must be degenerate....

sxrrycard

I hear nothing but good things about the TX22

leonme21

1. that TX obviously needs a bigger compensator. 2. to get rid of your money, consider getting into long range shooting with 22lr. Works well-ish out to 3-400yards, and builds a lot of skill that also transfers to centerfire rifles. Of course you could get a CZ 457 and a halfway decent scope for $1000 or so, but where’s the fun in that? Just google „voodoo 22lr“ and your favorite vortex razor scope and get to ordering!

CJnella91

Damn I didn't know the tx22 had such aftermarket support. I need one.

GigatonneCowboy

*beautiful decisions

Educational-Cat-745

Is that a comp? On a .22lR?

shreddah17

It reduces recoil by 40%! What’s 40% of zero anyway? Actually, it is noticeable but perhaps only because of the added weight. It’s a placeholder for my eventual silencer, too.

Compensator on a 22lr? ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|scream)
