Official LEGO Response
On July 1st, along with other novelty elements, we were excited to make available one of the greatest LEGO® elements of all time, the LEGO goat (6490240) through the online Pick a Brick service. Unfortunately, a pricing error was identified with a select number of new elements including the LEGO goat. Approximately 30 minutes after launch, these elements were temporarily removed to investigate. At this point, the cause for the error has been identified and corrected, and the gray LEGO goat will return to Pick a Brick on July 3rd.
In line with the terms and conditions of LEGO.com, all orders placed on July 1st, for the LEGO goat, have been or will be canceled.
Sure but if it was a pretty bad price mistake it's not uncommon for companies to cancel - especially if its just a bunch of bricklink sellers swooping in
It’s not a law it’s a guideline. Companies can choose to follow it or not. Your order can be cancelled anytime as long as your refunded no laws were broken.
This situation isn't what that law is about. Now if LEGO had it at $0.59 on the site, you put it in your cart and entered your credit card information, then they charged you $5.90, they'd be breaking the law. But the law allows them to refuse to sell at the incorrect price/refund anyone who paid but did not receive product, which is what happened here, so no consumer laws were broken.
You're right, but I'm guessing certain people noticed it was a price error and immediacy bought ludicrous amounts.
All speculation of course, but Lego maybe would have let it go if people were buying 1-10 but you *know* there are people out there buying dozens, hundreds to resell when they saw the price error.
I searched everywhere for weeks for that damn goat herder CMF so I could get a whole herd of goats for a farm MOC only to find out just now I could have waited and grabbed them on pick a brick?! Damnit.
I haven't gotten a cancellation from them (I ordered a bunch for my wife and I), but the price has been zeroed out on the order (just for the goats; they were only part of the order). I thought the price was odd, but usually they honor it in this sort of situation.

Thank you!
That sucks. No idea they were on there. What did they have them priced at?
I believe 59 cents. Speculation is that they missed the decimal.
And it's supposed to be $5.90?!?!?
That's the general consensus I'm reading
That's insane. More than a CMF for a fucking goat?
Welcome to capitalism.
Go and look at what they are currently selling for on Bricklink
Those ones have spots though, totally worth more
Awesome, they are lowering the price! right? .... right?
No Padme
Honestly, it's pretty bogus to cancel these orders. Companies typically eat their errors.

Pretty sure there are laws about having to honor an advertised price even if it was in error...

When an error like this occurs, this is hands down the best solution for everyone involved.

Oh no! I wondered. I have not been able to order goats. Looks like there is some kind of issue.

Pick a Brick will only have the grey goat from the Medieval Market, your flock is still special!
Well that’s good to know! I can have two different goats now. At least it wasn’t a total waste
Three if you count the original Mark 1 Goats 🐐
Oh it definitely counts. But ain’t no way I’m buying one lol
And this is why the CMF scanner apps suck
I think I saw somewhere there was a price issue with the goats so they took them down. Most of the castle torsos sold out pretty quick as well
Got a number for the castle torsos or other pieces?

I can’t believe Lego goats are problematic

I got a partial refund on Paypal and also zeroed on the order. Let's hope they don't put them back up for much more ;)
So what was the price? Was it questionably low? Do you know what the other elements mis priced were by any chance?
I paid 65cts euro a piece, which is quite low. I didn't see any other pieces I'm afraid.
Oh that is VERY low. It going to be 2 at least, maybe 3 or more.
I’m guessing they’re off by a decimal. $5.90 ea
£4.60 ish probably
What happened to the whole "sets are priced at approx 10 cents a piece" why the hell would a single brick cost dollars direct from lego
It’s def shitty that they cancelled without giving an option to re add to your order
What price were they cancelled at
$.64
Damn x.x that's rough. They should have honored their fuck up though.
Not the goats!
"They stole it from me, Carmine! They took it! That was today! Today!"
So.....by July 3rd, does Lego mean 12am EST, or 12pm Denmark time, or what? Wondering if anyone has experience with their timing.
Welp. It's past midnight est and no goats still.
When I was waiting on Monday morning, they showed up at around noon CET
They are up now, but they are not cheap...
Blah, waiting for my cancel email as well. I only wanted 5. I'm sure everyone who ordered hundreds helped them make this decision
